Snark snark. Haha, idiot. Snark snark.
Bored, whose bored....
Was Mills Stanford's first choice, or did they feel they were not going to get McCaffrey so they did not bother to pursue him much?
I think it is false to say that they "never even considered McCaffrey."
I guess it is possible that happened.
I think the reason why they never made a serious play is that they are very selective in who they offer. For example from 2014-2017, they only offered 6 recruits. Seems like they only offer kids who are high on their board and who show high level of interest back.
Stanford only offered 6 players in 4 years? They must have a kick ass walk on program, or some really old seniors...
McCaffrey seemed pretty confident in his Michigan decision. As much as Stanford is part of his family's history, it would be awful hard trying to follow his brother's Heisman finalist footsteps.
I don't know anything about Davis Mills, but he definitely sounds like the coolest man in football...
I hate losing recruits to SEC schools (or Ohio State or Michigan State, for that matter) because Michigan is hands-down academically superior to those schools. I hate losing recruits to Stanford because Stanford is hands-down academically superior to Michigan. So basically, I hate losing recruits, period.
In all seriousness, best of luck to him. When a kid chosses Stanford over Michigan because of academics, it's hard to argue with his decision.
...it means that there is little risk that we lose our #1 QB (McCaffrey) to Stanford if they were to offer him.

I know, but Mills had a Michigan offer and Harbaugh was recruiting him pretty hard (https://www.seccountry.com/sec-news/jim-harbaugh-shows-up-at-high-school-of-georgia-quarterback). Granted, that was before McCaffrey committed, but Harbaugh has shown that he doesn't mind having multiple blue chip QBs in the same class.
which means he must be slow, tendency to throw off the back foot and locks onto receivers, oh, and a weak arm.
I figured this would happen. Mills is a good one, though. I had him #3 out of the 10 quarterbacks Michigan offered in the 2017 class. I wouldn't have been too disappointed if we had to "settle" for him instead of McCaffrey. It does help me feel a little more settled about the McCaffrey situation, though, even though I thought he was pretty solid.
