I saw Kate Upton at the Stevensville Meijer several years ago. A cashier alerted me just in time for me to look up and make eye contact with Kate.
Although I knew that the entire Upton family is deeply rooted in the area (her uncle Fred Upton is US congressman for that district and the Upton family founded Whirlpool Corp. in Benton Harbor/St Joe), I never expected to see her there shopping with her mom. I learned then that Kate's immediate family's home is/was located somewhere between Stevensville and Bridgman.
Anyway, upon seeing her (she was wearing big sunglasses that I initially barely noticed), we exchanged glances and smiles---from her smile, I could tell she had immediately realized that she had been noticed despite her effort to hide behind the sunglasses.
My only regret was that, being it was Easter weekend rather than summertime, she was dressed for the weather.
She was rumored to be dating Justin Verlander at the time, but he was nowhere to be seen at that memorable moment.
