Plenty of Blue Balls for 2019 CB Turner
Then based on that, why dont 25 corners rated ahead of him have a better offer list?
Are you young? If you are, i give you a pass.
And you think looking at rankings is more important than looking at offers? So your going to take the opinion of a handful of 25 - 35 year old dudes making 29k to 35k living in their moms basement and have never played football in their life over a handful of power 5 coaches making multi millions a year who have eat, shit, breathed football their entire life?
My biggest gripe are people who treat these rankings like gospel instead of atcually watching these kids with their own eyes and forming their own opinion.
I never really understood this opinion. Recruiting analysts are really good at what they do, otherwise the data on recruiting rankings wouldn't be so heavily skewed in their favor. They get to see these kids up close and personal at camps, combines, and 7on7 - often against each other - and make their evaluations. College coaches don't get that luxury. It's not a coincidence the teams that finish at the top of the recruiting rankings every year are the same ones competing for the CFP. If UM were signing more 4 and 5 star recruits like they should be, every UM fan would be bragging about it, but since they aren't now it's recruiting analysts are nerds and everyone should form their own opinion. Well I guess my opinion is that recruiting rankings matter and I'm going to adhere to them. If someone else would rather watch a 3 minute highlight tape and form their opinion that way that's their perogative, but they shouldn't be upset at the people who don't.
Except they've been pursuing him hard for over a year and it's nine months until signing day.
That's not the profile of a backup plan guy.
It is when all your top targets have either eliminated you or a trending to other schools. 70% of high school recruits will make their college decision before their senior year and most of them will sign in the early period in December. The idea of it being early in the process is simply a false narrative.
So if I'm following your comments this thread which schools have offered a recruit isn't a thing that matters nor is how much/when a staff makes them a priority?
I'm sure the 150ish 3 star and below guys who get drafted every year are just flukes and this staff couldn't possibly be identifying any of those, either.
We all know 5 stars are good, etc. but this constant fatalism with lower ranked guys must be an exhausting way to follow college football.
Hey dude if you're really into top rated college football players (NTTAWWT), the real estate opportunities are huge in Alabama right now.
As a bonus your attempts to sound intelligent will actually work there ;)
by the Wolverines in the 2019 class and he's visited campus three times. - That's a quote from Steve Lorenz.
He's never been a tier 2 or 3 target for Michigan.
Keep trolling away. Cherry picking whatever negative information you can find as you always do.
wait..... blue balls isn't a good thing.
you can't imply blue balls is good.
had 14 3-stars
1 never made it to campus (Dytarious Johnson)
3 are no longer with the program - Nate Johnson, Mbem-Bosse, Kingston Davis
4 are key contributors - Quinn Nordin, Khaleke Hudson, Josh Metellus, Seam McKeon
2 are looking to contibute this year - Devin Gil, Mike Dwumfour
2 are role players - Eddie McDoom, Steve Spanellis
2 still may contribute - Nick Eubanks, Josh Uche
Hudson, McDoom and Eubanks were all rated .88+ in the composite 247, so pretty high 3-stars, which is the rating Turner currently has
The staff seems to do well with identifying 3-stars that can contribute - and all of these are either Juniors or RS Sophomores
The 9 3-stars in the 2017 class either red-shirted or just got a cup of coffee last year except for Mason. Woods, Paye and Stueber could all be in the mix this year
The bottom line is that while the miss rate is higher on 3-stars than 4-stars, the staff seems to be able to put them to good use or they work there way out of the program one way or the other - so if ones we miss on like Kingston Davis transfer our, we're just taking shots with them and processing them out if they can't contribute.
maybe he should have taken an official to Ole Miss before Freeze left, THEN made his moved to Michigan.....
wait, what?
Is it odd that he has made only one official visit (to Florida) and now all crystal balls are to us..?.
He's visited Michigan twice unofficially. Once was during the OSU game, and another was in April
I'll root for all those guys UofM can sign.
I'm just doing my job as a fan.
Root.
The offer list is really solid, so my guess is that his ratings tick up as well.
Feels like recruiting is on an uptick recently, which is a positive for once.
A 3* any day of the week with the potential to turn out like Khaleke Hudson or Josh Metellus.
Our coaching staff seems to make some of these guys turn out to be fabulous players. It's up to the kid once he gets here.
