For the record, after looking at what I think is the statutory provision in question, the "drug house" charge isn't necessarily as serious as it sounds (i.e., it doesn't mean he was dealing or anything).  Looks like it's defined as:

Knowingly to keep or permit the keeping or to maintain any premises, store, shop, warehouse, dwelling, temporary, or permanent building, vehicle, boat, aircraft, or other temporary or permanent structure or place, which is resorted to by persons using controlled substances in violation of this chapter for the purpose of using these substances, or which is used for keeping, possessing or selling them in violation of this chapter.

Just wanted to get that cleared up.

Without inside knowledge of the case, and I don't live in Iowa, he's dealing or someone he lives with is.  This statute doesn't get used for parties or a couple of friends smoking a bowl.  This is a statute that is used by drug enforcement teams to hammer dealers.  There are felony and misdemeanor versions of this in Michigan.  For him to get hit with this, the local dope team was watching that house for awhile.

Again, I have absolutely no knowledge of the case or the kid.

those who play for Michigan.

O wait, this isn't a presser... O DJK never even played for Michigan?

Carry on then...

On a serious note though, maybe now law enforcement will thoroughly investigate and report on another great college football player residing in Alabama...

I really liked the story of him being adopted by his friend's family and it seemed like he had a good relationship with them.  A really positive story of a family helping out a kid who'd had a rough life.  Sad to see him mixed up in this.

always gets high character guys, right? Don't they drug test during the year? If you're a chronic weed head, you're talking 30-45 days positive. Coke takes about 72 hours to leave and Scrips vary.

Too bad he didn't get busted before his 3 TD game against UM.

i dont think its all throughout the season, just at certain intervals, like at the beginning of the season and maybe spring ball.  and the players know these dates ahead of time.

of course, they sometimes (though rarely) have a surprise test.  and frequently when a player sits for "violating teams rules," he's pissed positive for the second or third time.

I feel sorry for the guy. If it was a alcohol filled orgy, nothing would have been done. Wish the whole drug debate would get a second look. In my E-pinion, alcohol is far more dangerous than weed. Cocaine? Now that is a hell of a drug.

Imagine that a H.S Thompson fan that wants the drug debate to have a second look. I have never met one of these before.

I spent many nights with friends watching fear and loathing discussing this very thing.
