OT - Blake Griffin's Dunk on Kendrick Perkins
If we were in season, I wouldn't post an NBA highlight...but this board has been full of a lot of bad news lately. It could be worse, we could be Kendrick Perkins.
I'm not sure why sometimes embeds work in the initial post of a thread...other times they don't. But here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3w_Vy0lDk_A&feature=g-logo&context=G2cba001FOAAAAAAAAAA
Embed is below.
...Sigh, there are few words in the English language that can accurately describe that "dunk."

Does anyone know why sometimes embeds don't work in the initial post?

Because you touch yourself at night
January 31st, 2012 at 11:26 AM ^
Are you using the Plain Text Editor?
January 31st, 2012 at 12:12 PM ^
I switch to plain text editor and paste the embed code...just as I did above.
I'm not sure if it's because I have text typed in the "rich text" editor beforehand or what. It's weird.
January 31st, 2012 at 12:41 PM ^
After the text and coding in the plain text?
For example, this says in plain text-

After the text and coding in the plain text?</p>
<p>
For example, this says in plain text-</p>
It'd have to not be in the middle of any of that.
I'd say after you paste it, go back to rich text, and see if the little box for the video shows up. If that looks good (it usually won't show the actually video, just the red frame), you're probably good to go.

I wish Jordan Morgan could finish like that.
January 31st, 2012 at 11:22 AM ^
It could be worse for Kendrick Perkins too. He could be Alex Carder and Griffin could be Jordan Kovacs.

Are you a philosophy major, that's some pretty good thinking...
January 31st, 2012 at 11:23 AM ^
Serious question:
Is it really a dunk when you heave it from a foot away? Impressive but kinda meh at the same time.
January 31st, 2012 at 11:27 AM ^
I can see it both ways...he does get some hand on the rim, but he is kinda throwing it in. But it's almost like an above the rim jump hook type thing. He is kinda throwing it in. Impressive, but I'm not sure a DUNK of the impressive nature the media is making it out to be.
January 31st, 2012 at 11:44 AM ^
I love watchin Griffin play. I'd hate to see the guy runnin at me with the ball. Nobody else does whatever you want to call that. He's done it a few times now. I don't really care what you call it, I still think it's pretty damn impressive.
January 31st, 2012 at 12:21 PM ^
Yeah I mena like I said, I find it impressive. Griffin's a beast no doubt. I just don't get the media (and everyone else) blowing a load over this. To each their own I suppose?
January 31st, 2012 at 1:29 PM ^
that watched it first hand, they seem to blow a load to. Bottom line, it was sick
January 31st, 2012 at 11:27 AM ^
When you have to use your opponent's head for leverage - how impressive is it? That's still a foul to me, but then I'm a bit old school. I agree - this didn't deserve a post.
January 31st, 2012 at 11:30 AM ^
Maybe if Perkins wasn't still moving into him I'd agree but as it stands, I think it was a good no call
January 31st, 2012 at 12:58 PM ^
I don't really follow the NBA so I appreciate the post, that was definitely worth seeing. And whoever doesn't think that was impressive is just nuts.

When is a "dunk" a dunk?
January 31st, 2012 at 1:08 PM ^
It's not Blake's fault that the rim is too low for him to dunk it normal.
January 31st, 2012 at 11:27 AM ^
I liked Lebron's alley-oop dunk better. He literally jumped over a guys head to finish the play
January 31st, 2012 at 11:30 AM ^
i once saw an amazing Griffin dunk where he scored by shooting the ball up in the air towards the basket from behind the arch, thereby allowing the ball to fall from the air into the net without even touching the rim
the refs were apparently so impressed that they awarded him 3 points instead of the usual 2 that he gets for most dunks
January 31st, 2012 at 11:37 AM ^
This is the proper way to question whether a shot is or is not an official dunk..
+1 (and a lol) to you sir.
Of course I think the more important thing here is the Griffin wiped his junk on Perkins face on the way to a hoop. Pretty sure KP isn't going on the air to argue dunk or no dunk. Pretty sure he would like this to just go away.

Definitely a dunk, and probably the 2nd best dunk of all time to me, only behind Vince Carter disgracing the whole country of France in the 2000 Olympics.
January 31st, 2012 at 12:12 PM ^
Yeah, it's hard to imagine anyone ever topping the Olympics dunk. I'm picturing Frederic Weis sitting in the corner of a room right now, holding his knees and rocking back and forth, mumbling something about getting his feet set for the charge.
January 31st, 2012 at 1:11 PM ^
the only charge I saw on that dunk was VC's testes slapping Weis in the face
January 31st, 2012 at 12:39 PM ^
as he manages to teabag a man taller than him. Although he does forearm bitch-slap the guy which should probably be a foul.
January 31st, 2012 at 1:12 PM ^
That. Is. Insane.
January 31st, 2012 at 11:42 AM ^
I'm pretty sure he did something similar to Novak a couple years ago. He does something like that almost every game. And what Blake is to the dunk, DeAndre Jordan is for the blocked shot. It's fun to be a Clippers fan, for the first time, ever.
January 31st, 2012 at 1:33 PM ^
We still beat won that game.
January 31st, 2012 at 4:01 PM ^
I wish I could neg you as "inaccurate".
February 1st, 2012 at 8:00 PM ^
It got Novak a nice interview in SI last February for the "Blake Griffin's Poster Boys" article. He comes off as a great sport.
January 31st, 2012 at 12:17 PM ^
Yeah I guess I don't really get it? It's a good play that he made it but I'm not sure where dunk comes in. Semantics I guess but it could just be that I'm tired of seeing 8 dunks on SC's top 10 plays when there's much cooler plays going on.
January 31st, 2012 at 12:17 PM ^
I can dunk a basketball...I couldn't IMAGINE trying to throw the ball into the rim like Dwight Howard OR Blake Griffin (who does get a little rim).
That is WAY harder than dunking a ball, you have to jump way higher and you could easily miss because you're coming down so hard.
LeBron's was sick, this was just the same...and if you have a chance, turn your speakers all the way up. It sounds so much better. Very Pippen/Ewing.
January 31st, 2012 at 6:53 PM ^
Fuck Scottie Pippen.
January 31st, 2012 at 12:17 PM ^
I did that exact dunk on my 7 yr old daughter an hour ago and she's still in tears.
January 31st, 2012 at 12:35 PM ^
He's 6'10" 250. Now if he were 6'2" and dunked over a 6'10" man, then I guess I'd be impressed.
January 31st, 2012 at 12:45 PM ^
Jordan had a dunk on Mourning that was pretty damn impressive.

I used to dunk on punks like Griff does, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
