He imagines that the Irish and English who came to the Caribbean had some influence on the spelling, which can be found on many islands in the area and in parts of South America’s northeast corner. One theory posits that the name is an anglicized version of a village in Guyana.

I remember being curious about the last name some time back and searches actually tend to support the notion that it is a bad Anglicizing of a Guyenese village name, Of course, many Americans of Scandanavian, German and several other origins can attest to the strangeness of the Anglicized name as well, more evidence that English has traditionally been good at ruining otherwise awesome names.

Angelique smangelique! We dated back in the 90's. Think it was her anyway? Very excited for this offense though next year. I'd say the only position group to take the setback would be O-line. Yeah UM loses a lot of senior starters but many good smart and talented players in the wings. Ohio State cant say that. They have fast and talented. Not intellient. After looking at the roster and what not, talent wise I think next years team can be about as good as this team. They will be a better team if JABRILL comes back!!!

The McDoom chant is helping me convert my little niece. At the MSU game (decked out in Spartan gear) she screamed, "AhDoooooom!" My State grad brother was very annoyed.
