Nassar Banner: Not a Good Look
Just saw this on CNN, but apparently the Psi U fraternity thought it would be good idea to hang a banner making a joke about Larry Nassar from one of their windows on Saturday. Simone Biles was not amused. Nothing quite like pissing off an American legend. Way to represent, boys...

Whaaat frat boys saying dumb shit? At MICHIGAN? Say it ain't so!
Edit: but seriously fuck these guys
November 19th, 2019 at 4:15 PM ^
The most shocking thing to me is that Psi U is still on campus. Could’ve sworn they got kicked off campus circa 2013-15
November 19th, 2019 at 4:35 PM ^
They did, but that means they can come back as soon as the last initiated person graduates.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:50 PM ^
They were kicked off in early 2013 because a pledge went to the hospital with alcohol poisoning and blew a 0.59. Yes, a 0.59. 7.5 times the legal limit, and well into "you should be dead" territory.
The only reason he didn't die was because he also did a bunch of coke, and that kept his heart rate up enough that doctors were able to save his life and he ended up making a full recovery (I think).
So the lesson is, if you're gonna drink until you should be dead, do some coke too!
November 19th, 2019 at 4:58 PM ^
Can confirm this is sound medical advice.
November 19th, 2019 at 5:08 PM ^
This why people shouldn't complain about being sent to Bolivia.
November 20th, 2019 at 9:20 PM ^
ahh, the internet. Sure guy.
November 19th, 2019 at 7:12 PM ^
What if you drink by taking the drink up the pooper? Should you do coke up the pooper also? Asking for a friend
November 19th, 2019 at 9:25 PM ^
The reason he was able to get so drunk was because of the coke.
November 19th, 2019 at 6:42 PM ^
"Psi U", if you take away the "i", what do you get.....
November 19th, 2019 at 6:27 PM ^
In my experience as a student, there are two types of people at Michigan: douchey frat boys, and people who want all frats shut down. There is no in between.
November 19th, 2019 at 6:43 PM ^
WTF, where were all the girls???
November 20th, 2019 at 9:20 AM ^
I think that's a gross overgeneralization. Yes, I was in Greek life in my time at UM, and yes, there were more than a fair share of douches in the system. In my own house included. But there's also plenty of good, upstanding guys who just like to have a good time. Just like (surprise surprise) almost everyone else on campus.
You can be an entitled, douchey asshole at Michigan and still not be in Greek life.
November 20th, 2019 at 2:18 PM ^
I enjoyed going to Frats in my younger years at Michigan and I had some friends that joined Frats that didn't have to do the whole hazing thing and still had fun parties (Frat was on hill street).
Think there are plenty of in between.
November 19th, 2019 at 6:44 PM ^
Well since they got banned from Tree Tops resort, got to have some fun!!!
November 19th, 2019 at 7:11 PM ^
Pretty sure that is an epidemic at any University with Greek organizations. Probably to the point where actual Greeks are offended to be associated by name.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
Rachael Denhollander was also rightly mad about this.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:20 PM ^
Aren’t MSU fans too busy trying to discredit her and her teammates and paint them as exaggerating liars? Surprised they’re (MSU fans) are more outraged at a poor in taste sign than the actual events that transpired.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:41 PM ^
If the outrage is at UM it’s warranted, if at MSU it’s BS (especially if it involves a coach that has beaten UM). Surprised you didn’t know that.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
The outrage is warranted over the banners of course. The outrage is also warranted that MSU even has an athletic department over that shit. (and throw in PSU as well).
November 19th, 2019 at 5:54 PM ^
In full support of eliminating MSU, PSU and Baylor’s athletic departments. When a sports game trumps the rights and safety of women and children, particularly when it was clear there was some sort of institutional coverup, said sports should be eliminated.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:04 PM ^
Get offended in one hand and shit in the other...
November 19th, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
This is a pretty dumb sentiment
November 19th, 2019 at 4:57 PM ^
What do you expect? He’s a total moron.
November 19th, 2019 at 5:03 PM ^
Yes, but murder spelled backwards is...
November 19th, 2019 at 7:07 PM ^
Dumb ass? That looks wrong.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:45 PM ^
I know it's all in vogue n' shit to mock "political correctness", but you might wanna listen to the best gymnast in American history on this one.
November 19th, 2019 at 5:08 PM ^
I'm not mocking PC attitudes nor making a political statement. I think MODs should delete this entire post from the message board. I happen to agree with the gymnast. But not because she is the best gymnast in American history. More importantly, what she said makes sense.
On RCMB, the defense of Nassar is that he went to UM undergrad (this was argued today on their site). That argument is shocking to its core that anyone would excuse MSU because he spent time at UM. I think that is a stupid argument. I also think what the frat did was stupid. Both sentiments represent the worst of both fan bases. The best thing to do is to ignore ignorance up and until it harms or infringes on one's rights. Being free of offense is not a right.
Love you guys!
November 19th, 2019 at 6:54 PM ^
Meh. Even in a world where nobody gets offended at anything (and I'm really good at stripping away offended feelings from something) this isn't even a funny sign.
November 19th, 2019 at 9:26 PM ^
I'll split it with you. I'll get offended in one hand...and you do the other thing.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:06 PM ^
Not a good display of class but it made me giggle
November 19th, 2019 at 4:06 PM ^
The banner under it was pretty funny though. And now everybody upset at the stupid one gets to see it.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:09 PM ^
That second sign isn't even that funny. That joke is way too overused to put on a sign
November 19th, 2019 at 4:29 PM ^
Nah, it's one of the overriding causes of their inferiority complex, needling it will always be fun.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:33 PM ^
Blah, blah, blah Sparty was my first choice!
Arguing that you could have got into Michigan but CHOSE Staee is sooooo little brother.
November 19th, 2019 at 6:19 PM ^
Best little brother joke....
Q. What do Michigan students and staee students have in common?
A. Both got into Michigan!
November 19th, 2019 at 4:34 PM ^
Joke?
November 19th, 2019 at 4:58 PM ^
I'm of the mindset that if you're going to make a gameday banner like that, then it should be original and clever or it's not even worth putting up
November 19th, 2019 at 8:08 PM ^
The best one ever was "Conner can't Cook with Peppers". Whoever made that up was very witty.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:37 PM ^
It's an overused joke to guys who are 35 and graduated a decade ago, but most of the people looking at this sign are 20 years old and from out of state somewhere and probably haven't heard that joke 1000 times already.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:56 PM ^
I think the reason it's funny (to us) is because it's NOT a joke.
It's absolutely true and they know it. And we know they know it, and they know we know it, which is why reminding them of it every chance we get is so damn funny.
November 19th, 2019 at 5:06 PM ^
Nobody goes to MSU willingly unless it’s for supply chain or “journalism” lolololol
November 19th, 2019 at 6:48 PM ^
....or to be a vet or grow shit!
November 19th, 2019 at 9:50 PM ^
It’s not supply chain, it “packaging”. Ross OM/SCM kicks MSU’s ass worse than our football team did.
November 19th, 2019 at 9:54 PM ^
Journalism. How's THAT working out....
November 19th, 2019 at 8:48 PM ^
As a fan who didn't graduate from Michigan, I think you sound ridiculously arrogant. Do you really think about this stuff?
November 19th, 2019 at 4:57 PM ^
I'm about to graduate and yes it's completely overused. If you're gonna put a sign up, make it original and clever
November 19th, 2019 at 6:17 PM ^
You’ll understand when you’re older.
Wait, let me save you the trouble:
“OK boomer.”
November 20th, 2019 at 10:10 AM ^
The first sign is obviously terrible and in poor taste. The second sign is very common, as you said, and represents my least favorite thing about Michigan fans. That kind of elitist attitude gives the school a bad look and is the main reason people hate Michigan.
November 19th, 2019 at 4:31 PM ^
people are getting their panties in a wad over this?
not my style, but seriously, there is so much more in the world to take umbrage about that this doesn't even move the needle.
