Hmm I thought for sure he would end up at zona. Makes you wonder about his talent. Best of luck to him I hope he strikes it big

He's actually from Canada. He moved to Virginia sometime during high school (junior year, I think) to get better competition/coaching/exposure.

Wake has been more successful and a better program for years. 5 bowl games in 5 years compared to 1 for Zona. Better record every year since 2015.

Yeah, I think he meant Zona because of Brown being there. If you read between the lines it would imply Brown doesn’t think he have what it takes. Kind if a leap - but that’s my interpretation!

Why would it make you wonder about his talent?
Could it be he liked the way he fit in their scheme and how they’d use him? Or liked the school/program and it was a good personal fit?
If you wanted to argue his ranking didn’t match his output that might be fair, but like the poster said above me, Wake is a better program recently than Arizona...

I hope he makes a go of it there. Was pumped when U of M signed him and held out hope he would pan out with the Maize and Blue. Too bad, but it is what it is.

Wow, haven't heard Makhtar mentioned in a long time. I remember watching him foul out of games in about 7 minutes, many years ago.

Makhtar ended up at UNC eventually. I remember him because I thought he was 35 years old, he just looked too old for college to me.
