Lou Holtz on Ryan Day's 3rd loss to Michigan
Lou Holtz: "Losing to Michigan 3 years in a row is not good...what a long ride home that must be." Holtz goes on to reminisce about his time coaching at Ohio State when Woody Hayes was there for the "because I couldn't go for three" game. Sadly, Lou declined to comment on OSU's toughness.
Hey @OhioState curious what Lou Holtz thinks of Ryan Day losing to MIchigan 3 years straight? @mark_may had to ask pic.twitter.com/XpRTGlJTzA

Who gives a fuck about what Lou thinks.
November 27th, 2023 at 9:28 AM ^
Well, there's at least one guy in Columbus, Ohio who does.

Well, since 3B Day pulled his Cowardly Lion "put' em up, put 'em up" routine with 90-year old Lou Holtz to show how tough he is, Lou's thoughts seem pretty relevant after Ohio Soft's showing on Saturday.

I think Lou and Mark planned this response perfectly.
There is no way Ryan can get the last word in - he's embarrassed himself.

2B Day. Didn't make it back to 3rd base.
November 27th, 2023 at 11:19 AM ^
He just got his third strike in a row against us....is he even on any base at this point?
November 27th, 2023 at 9:36 AM ^
exactly.
i also, fwiw, don't give a flying crap what ryan day thinks about what lou holtz thinks. i look forward to not clicking on that dumbassed link, too, but by all means, y'all, scour the interwebs to find out. or not. whatever.
i've heard enough from those two boobs to last me a lifetime, thank you very much.

I don't care what he thinks, I just care where he's at.

You can dislike Lou and enjoy this. Believe me.
November 27th, 2023 at 10:34 AM ^
If he's bagging on OSU I'm all in.
November 27th, 2023 at 10:49 AM ^
Lou Holtz is a cheater. Every program he coached faced NCAA penalties in his wake.
November 27th, 2023 at 9:30 AM ^
Holts seems to be smirking a bit and enjoying himself at Ryan’s expense.

OSU season point totals last three years. They still have a bowl game to play. But the delta right now between the last two years is 200 points. Looks to me like they lost something that they may not get back for a very long time. You can't go out tomorrow, lose Marvin Harrison Jr., restructure the BIG and find 150-200 missing points next season. And even then, they still lost to us all three of these seasons.
2021: 594
2022: 575
2023: 394

That's crazy. I knew they were down from over past years but not by that much.
Also we put up over 50 more points than them this year. When is the last time we scored more points than them?
I couldn't understand why when OSU put up 35 points on MSU in the first half and got only 3 points the whole second half. I thought OSU was going to score 70 points. No way Urban Meyer would have taken his foot off the pedal.
November 27th, 2023 at 11:17 PM ^
We put up 50 more points and our starters only played 3/4 of the season.
November 27th, 2023 at 11:34 AM ^
Do they play USC next year? If so, there’s 50+
November 27th, 2023 at 12:07 PM ^
I think that is all about the QB position, because the rest of their team seemed better this year than in years past.
November 27th, 2023 at 9:30 AM ^
Remember when Lou and Mark may were the faces of college football? Mark may was another Michigan hater.
November 27th, 2023 at 9:37 AM ^
I enjoyed College Football Final much more back then.
November 27th, 2023 at 9:43 AM ^
May might have been a Michigan hater—obviously Holtz was no Michigan fan either—but I still enjoyed watching them.
November 27th, 2023 at 10:03 AM ^
I did as well. Speaking of Michigan haters from back in the day, none bigger than Beano Cook. That guy would pick Michigan to lose every big game. Didn’t matter who they were playing.
November 27th, 2023 at 12:32 PM ^
Ah, yes, Beano Cook and the curse on poor Ron Powlus. Doomed his Heisman campaign.
November 27th, 2023 at 9:47 AM ^
God, Mark May--I forgot all about that dude. May and Holtz did the games wrap-up show that introduced the helmet sticker gimmick, right? As I remember now, that's the show Rece Davis was on before he transitioned to Game Day.
November 27th, 2023 at 11:07 AM ^
Mark May was an Ohio State hater. Big Time. He would troll them regularly. And they hated him.
So he was OK with me.
November 27th, 2023 at 11:08 AM ^
Wasn't May a Pitt o-lineman back in the day? That would explain it.
November 27th, 2023 at 12:25 PM ^
Mark May is on locally here in Phoenix. I see his face on the Sunday night sports wrap shows.
I see good ol' Lee Corso picked against us again, too, as usual. Another hater.
November 27th, 2023 at 9:34 AM ^
soft like charmin........ you can put Louie Vuitton on the Stay Puft marshmellow man, but that don't make him tough.
November 27th, 2023 at 9:41 AM ^
Oh I want to hear thith.
November 27th, 2023 at 9:44 AM ^
Holtz said they are shtill shoft
November 27th, 2023 at 9:55 AM ^
If it weren’t for Ryan Day’s nauseating interview post Notre Dame game, I don’t think most of us would have known he was still alive.
But Holtz can still suck it.
November 27th, 2023 at 10:01 AM ^
3rd loss for the man on 3rd base. Put that on a t shirt.
November 27th, 2023 at 10:04 AM ^
Come on Coach Deacon Blues just admit you ordered the Code Red (PI investigation). And stop picking on former Buckeye coach octogenarians!
November 27th, 2023 at 10:41 AM ^
I think Day is a great example of a coordinator who probably shouldn't be a head coach. It's ok to stay a coordinator, bro! Some people just don't have what it takes to lead - authenticity being one key thing.
