Latest on Aubrey Solomon

In a recent turn of events that only crootin can bring, Sam Webb thinks we have a LEGIT shot at Aubrey Solomon. He said he's floored.. also asks that Michigan fans stop with the "we don't want this kid" stuff. Because frankly, that's just bs and not true. Come on to AA Aubrey.. we'll welcome you with open arms. UPDATE: Ryan Bartow of 24/7 sports just Ballzed Solomon to Michigan

I will tell you wtf is going on. Aubrey Solomon is coming to AA to play football. Sam is right and everyone needs to stop talking negatively about this kid. Instead lets talk negatively about the ass clown who thanks him for attending anevent he didn't while mispelling his name and such. The f michigan stuff is emotion and means nothing. Maybe I am wrong, but I have a good feeling about this kid. He and his mom came up here after all that and that is huge. Another thing that is just ignorant is not having confidence in Jim Harbaugh and his staff. Let's see how this class finishes and we will see just how much pulling power Mr. Harbaugh has.

Agreed.

If/when he chooses another team and does something offensive, then we can talk about him.

We have said, man, that Joe Mixon is an asshole.  I remember saying that Terrelle Pryor was an asshole.  I definitely remember discussing how much of an asshole the Boren family was as a collective.  It was clear that Cardale Jones was a dumbass, so we said so.  William Gholston was obviously a piece of shit, and it was written.

I don't have much issue with calling things how they are amongst friends.  I do not think it's effective or prudent whatsoever to direct this *AT* rival college players, much less uncommitted high school players.

I wouldn't say shit to Aubrey Solomon's face, or any OSU player or MSU player or any other athlete that didn't choose our school or who happens to play against us; hiding behind a keyboard and anonymity doesn't give us a pass.

Talking ~to~ these players is a step too far.

I just find it sad/interesting that wherever you go so many people and esp youngsters spend so much their time with their heads down looking at their phones. Can be in a restaurant with a table full of friends and everyone is looking down and pretending to have conversations with the person sitting next to them. Its anti-social media in many ways.

Or did this kid just say F*ck Michigan like a couple days ago?

I mean I'll take him for sure as he's a great prospect but can somebody please tell the carny to stop the ride?

If I was a 5 star defensive linemen with no Michigan legacy or connection, I would choose Bama in a heartbeat. That d-line is an NFL factory, and even the backups get drafted sometimes. Hope I'm wrong, but damn you can't blame a kid with NFL aspirations for picking Bama.

no doubt m knows what its doing and develops DL pretty well but were talking bama over the past decade (arguably the sports most dominant stretch ever).  nfl teams have been steadily selecting bama defenders (from all 3 levels) in the first few rounds - m hasnt matched of late (though hopefully they will)

I mean, mattison was just named the defensive line coach of the year... And if Hurst resided to leave this year, Michigan would have had a dlineman go very high that did not technically start. It is not like this staff is not producing very good lineman. Moreover, they are not guys that were can't miss 5 stars coming out of high school.

Bottom line is you want kids who love your school. Not sure that is the case with Aubrey. We will see.

"18 year olds say stuff."  That is the understatement of the the day.  With this whole recruiting thing, we often forget who we are dealing with...a bunch of young kids who haven't had their senior prom yet.

That's exactly what  the way I feel about it. Kid got his feelings hurt. Happens to everyone. I really think the kid just got his feelings hurt and felt unappreciated by someone who obviously is incompetent at their job. The thing is nobody knows what his relationship with U of M is right know. How his conversations with Harbaugh are going and where things stand. This kid to me is going above and beyond to mend a bridge, that if I was a kid from Goergia and was staying down there the rest of my life, I really would not bother with.

I thought naw I really would prefer to walk through fire than to read that. So I went to the safe ones like hello posts and posts that didn't fill me with an urge to projectile vomit . But then Alas I saw at the bottom over 300 posts and thought either there are alot of masochistic people on this site tonight or that could be good news so I took a look and much to my suprise I was glad I did.

If you want early playing time at a world class university Mr. Solomon this is the place to be.
