Latest on Aubrey Solomon

In a recent turn of events that only crootin can bring, Sam Webb thinks we have a LEGIT shot at Aubrey Solomon. He said he's floored.. also asks that Michigan fans stop with the "we don't want this kid" stuff. Because frankly, that's just bs and not true. Come on to AA Aubrey.. we'll welcome you with open arms. UPDATE: Ryan Bartow of 24/7 sports just Ballzed Solomon to Michigan

Did anyone see Aubrey knock Filiaga over on the extra point? Chuck obviously was caught off guard. Not sure if Solomon screamed F Michigan but it was kinda funny.

If we got the kid who openly said "Fuck Michigan", that'd be my second favorite recruiting story ever. After the kid with an Auburn tattoo going to Alabama.

If Najee comes, Aubrey comes. That's the way it feels right now. These guys want to win and there seeing all the talent we're bringing in. Buckle up for a crazy couple weeks...

I'm saying he still might like the school and coaching staff more than Alabama, despite him saying "fuck Michigan". Who knows what was going through his head at the time. But at the end of the day he's unsure if Michigan and Harbaugh are just selling hope and won't actually be competing for national championships. Getting the #1 recruit in the country and a top 5 class two years in a row might just be enough to push him over the edge and rejoin the class. If Harris ends up coming here I think a lot of unexpected shit is going to go down.

I want to, but I can't stay away. I just hope Brown and Baugh can finish the job with these top recruits. I just want to beat Ohio and players like Harris and Solomon will help us get there.

Are all the ppl who said 2 days ago he is not "Michigan material" going to come here and say oops ....Or at least write a sternly written email to JH to urge him to stop pursuit? Otherwise they would be hypocrites and all....

Meh, kids say stupid shit at his age. I did too. He'll look back 4-5 years from now and say to himself "I can't believe I said that." I do that every now and again as well.

If he comes here, great. If not, no hard feelings.

Michigan spelled his name wrong and sent him a thank you note to something he didn't attend and he said F Michigan in an interview. Maybe we can just call it even. ?

The key here is likely a conversation WITH HIS MOTHER. I hear she and Gwen get along and speak often. Anything positive after that video reeks of damage control, admittedly understandable teenager caveats aside. He didn't not mention us in interviews or tell guys at the game he was going to Georgia/Bama or just wear a Georgia mouthpiece. He said "f**k Michigan" on video that he knew was streaming online (lmao). I don't care what they said today, he's not coming here. Who cares if he's not so much "f**k Michigan" anymore now that his mom likely (rightfully) told him that was wrong? I'd absolutely welcome him and was never bothered by it but it wasn't a bit of praising another school or a bit of down talking of UM. He went Def Comedy Jam on us (lol).

The upside to the bad news on the premium recruits lately is that I don't believe we'll get any of Harris, Solomon, Gay, or Tufele. Like, legit pessimistic, not just Eeyore stuff as I sometimes indulge in. And, as a result, if we land even one of these guys I would be ecstatic.

The disappointing end to their recruitment is now "priced in" to my analysis of the class. At least, until I look at national rankings again and see those two stupid vowel logos at the top of the list.

The term you're looking for is "realist." But you've only been here since late 2015, so you probably weren't using my optimistic appraisals of 2016 (I called Michigan to the preseason top five and disagreed significantly with those who felt we would be lower, and I was on board with the "this is the year" feel in August and September before significant OL problems justly changed my opinion) for context on the larger picture.

Don't get sensitive. You have no signs that we will get any of them. The noise around these guys all looks poor, as it did for guys like Wilson. But, in terms of crootin, I will cop to being pessimistic, and that's probably the sample you're pulling from here. I don't feel the need to be a fanboy when reality will come around just fine. I still get to be just as happy when I'm wrong.
