Everything really went to shit at the turn of the century.
Sure, you had to take off 11 layers of flannel first, but under all that flannel was a rocking body, because people were still skinny back then.
The flannel shirts were bad, agreed, but the really tight shirts the ladies wore that snapped in the crotch AND effectively prevented underwear usage were pretty sweet. Once you unsnapped the crotch, all you needed to do was wade through the overgrown "foliage" and you were home free...
I found one of those shirts recently and bought it for my wife, strictly for nostalgic purposes.

I'll bet you can find one at a Salvation Army. As long as the wife doesn't mind her cold cuts rubbing up against all the other cold cuts that shirt has seen, you're good! :-D
It was a couple years ago, but I'm pretty sure it was there. A Google shopping search for "snap crotch shirts" returns plenty of results though, so it should be easy to find online. Some are NSFW though, btw.

Oh man, the first Descent was a lot of fun for me. That is one of the very few PC games I have ever played.
