Per Adam schefter.

God damn!

[edit: mgowill] Title somewhat misleading.

Browns get Beckham.

Giants get Cleveland’s 1st round pick (No. 17 overall), the second 3rd round pick this year and Jabrill Peppers.

The trade cannot be made final until Wed. at 4 p.m. ET.

As a life long Giants fan this harkens back to the late 60's to early 70's. This organization is a dumpster fire. John Mara is clueless.

The only upside here is getting Jabril. My son the Michigan alum will be getting a jersey.

OBJ is a cancer. Browns have gotten better, but Hunt probably isnt playing this year,Calloway isnt going to resign now

Browns front office has sucked forever, its about time they made some moves ..its been 17 years since the Browns made the playoffs.

NYG werent going to be good this year,so loading up on draft picks is a good idea, plus adding starters like Peppers and the OL only helps the overall "future" roster

You think OBJ is going to stay in that shit hole city for his career?  He will have success, then in 2-3 years start with his "same ole same ole" im more important than the team... then Cleveland will be forced to dump him.

AFC is pretty deep.Cleveland winning a playoff game isnt very likely for the next few years..KC,New England,Chargers.Colts,Pittsburgh,Jags,Houston,Titans,Ravens

Ravens just lost 3 defensive starters and they have a QB who literally can't throw.  You're right, history shows the read option will work in the NFL, and Lamar Jackson won't get hurt.  You're guaranteeing the Patriots, Chargers and Steelers QBs will all still be playing in 2-3 years?  The Titans and Jags?  Yeah, if this league has shown us anything it's that you win playoff games with shitty quarterbacks.

Show me where ANY  NY Giant football player is saying this is a bad trade? or saying we shouldve kept OBJ ....There is a reason the guy was shown the door.

Go to you tube type in OBJ sideline antics, and tell me you like this guy .He is a diva that isnt as good as people think he is.Deion Sanders said it best "this guy needs to stop what hes doing and just be a football player now,no more excuses for why he cant do "his thang"

He fakes injuries.thats a cancer

I'm a Giant fan and think I'm pretty sane.  While I'm concerned about it I'm far from unhappy.  OBJ is an immense talent but he's been far from awesome the last few years and it's not all Manning's fault.  There have been plenty of dropped passes - the kind that were put right in his hands.  Maybe he'll stay on the field revert to all-world in Cleveland but that's far from a given.  At this point I'm not particularly distressed over this, especially given that the Giants are probably a few years away from being good even with him.

Browns are tracking to make the Super Bowl before the Lions.

The Browns are technically an expansion team, so they along with the Texans and Jaguars can't really be regarded too harshly for not making the Super Bowl yet. The original Browns never made it, but eventually did as the Ravens — leaving the Lions as the only non-90's/2000's-expansion team to never reach the Super Bowl. Saddest franchise ever.

Cost of living is higher, so be extra careful with savings, Jabrill.

Other than that I'd rather live in NY than Cleveland.... hope he enjoys this next chapter!!

Peppers is going home. He's from New Jersey which is nearby.

According the NFL Network, other teams offered a lot less for OBJ,something in the A Brown range and 3rd and 5th round pick.

The Giants kind of  fleeced the Browns,if you go by OBJ market value

And OBJ can still veto this trade, which is being talked about (when he gets back from over seas)

So its not a done deal according to NFL Network

According to NFL Network he was being shopped around and teams offered 3rd and 5th round picks, and one team offered a 2nd round pick and wanted OBJ and Giants 5th rounder next yr

So im guessing OBJ market value is what teams were willing to give up for him

People have to remember ,Beckham has always been a cancer, suspensions, been injured way too often (some fake injuries according to some people)  He was great 2-3 years ago,but he isnt that guy anymore and he never will be ,Thus his market value is kind of low .

He is a guy that is going to have 80 catches for 1000 yds and 8 tds,but you will find that on almost every team in the NFL ...

I hope Jabril has a great accountant because he is going to pay a whole lot more in taxes going to New York.

True except as crazy as it sounds the two teams are on completely different trajectories.  giants are in 100% rebuild mode yet realized this two years too late and still don’t have a QB and by the time they do, their best player Barkley will most likely be run into the ground and in his last or next to last year of his rookie deal.  There is literally no one else on that team and I say that as a Giants fan.  At least I get my Sundays backs. Not sure I can watch Barkely run into a stacked box 30 times and catch 10 check down passes per game

I don't know about the Giants not being capable until late in Barkley's rookie deal. Each First Round rookie contract is 4 years with a team option for a 5th. I highly doubt Barkley won't be locked up for 4 more years. The Giants are picking 6th, 17th, and 37th! That means they will potentially get 2 of the top 20 players, and 3 of the top 50 players in this year's draft! In today's NFL, that can mean a much quicker turnaround.

They can pull a Kansas City and draft a quarterback who can sit and learn behind Manning for a year, and then take over with a loaded offense (Barkley, Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram), and a young core built the right way... through the draft. Turnarounds can happen quickly in the NFL. KC, the Rams, Houston, Chicago, Eagles, all made the playoffs in the past 2 years in the second year of the reign of their new, highly drafted quarterbacks. The Giants will have a 2nd year quarterback in Barkley's 3rd year, with 2 years left on the running backs deal. Don't be surprised if 2019 is the last year of a bad NYG team.

The "rebuild" crowd in the NFL comments are clearly not watching the game and the quick transitions. Some teams have a history of ownership allowing their staff to construct winning teams (Giants) and some have crazy and football ignorant owners (Browns).  The difference is always the results on the field.  I am sure there is plenty negging going around on this take but let's check back three years from now and see who is trending where.  As a lifetime Lions fan, I know incompetent ownership and the results exceedingly well.  I am thankful the Browns keep the Lions from being the constant butt of the joke.  Continue on, boys!

Giants replace Collins, they get an extra first and a third. They could get their QB of the future in Haskins, add a OL with the browns pick. Pick up another OL or two with their second or third round picks, they are building for the future pretty quickly I just hope they build in time so that Barkley doesn't have too much tread on his tires and is wasted

I wouldn't want OBJ on my team. I just can't get the Boat Trip on the week of a playoff game out of my mind. Not only that, his performance in the game was atrocious. He had almost as many drops (3) as catches (4), and had only 28 receiving yards. With all of his antics (Boat Trip, sideline tantrums, crazy media statements, public criticisms of teammates and team), I'd not want him infecting my team, especially a young team, with his selfish, fame-first, attention seeking behavior.

There are now too many big, wild personalities in Cleveland. The quarterback is over the top. Two wide receivers are over the top. The new running back is over the top. And, that's all in the same huddle! This won't end well for the Browns. The Giants tired of OBJ less than a year after giving him the biggest wide receiver contract in history... Let that sink in!

Congrats to Jabrill Peppers for getting out of Cleveland. However, I never like when young players end up playing so close to home. The money is still new to them, and the hangers-on have much more immediate access to you. It's tough breaking away from old neighborhood ties when you're still so physically close to the neighborhood. Hopefully, he keeps his mind on his craft, and becomes one of the best young safeties in the game.

I find it amusing that everyone is happy Jabrill is getting out of Cleveland to go to East Rutherford/NYC but he's also going from a team that is trending upwards to a team that is a total shit show that is lucky to win 3 games this year.

"Trending upwards".

Sure they are. The best 7-9 team we've ever seen. And if anybody can win them a Super Bowl, it's... I actually don't even know who their coach is. But I'm sure random rookie head coach will have no problem balancing OBJ and Baker Mayfield.

Not hating on Cleveland. They should be excited. But as a Lions/Michigan fan, I've seen fanbases count their offseason chickens for decades with virtually no payoff. LOL at blind faith in the Browns.

Wide receivers don't make a franchise. Quarterbacks and coaching do. Antonio Brown, OBJ, Dez Bryant, Julio Jones, AJ Green, DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Evans, T.Y. Hilton, Larry Fitzgerald, and Calvin Johnson: 0 combined Super Bowl wins. Julian Edelman: 3 time champ.

Baker had a good year but it's still gonna be only his second year so almost nothing can be assumed yet. Not to mention a new head coach who has never been the head guy before. I get why it's fun to talk about them, but I'll believe the Browns are a contender when I see it
