you look at orgi and you see how well he could mimic bama's QB milroe in the run-up to the rose bowl.  the kid is a specimen.  if he can get through the progressions and make wise decisions, how could you not love a QB like that?

Even keeping it simple, it requires him to make the right decisions consistently. You’re cutting down on the number of reads, but not necessarily the difficulty level of those reads.

The much bigger issue though, is whether or not he has the arm to execute in the passing game. Making the right read is only half the battle.

Arm refers to the whole package. Strength, touch, accuracy.

Having a cannon is completely irrelevant if you can’t hit the broad side of a barn (what we’ve seen of him, he struggles in this area). The ability to throw a rocket is irrelevant if you’re throwing 100mph on a slant route the receiver can’t catch.

So the article said the pecking order is age followed by alphabetical order when there is a tie.  Do Denegal and Orji have the same birthday?    That’s crazy if true.

it’s like that old stats thing where if you have 30 people in a room the odds are really high that two will have the same birthday.

I hope one of these guys take a huge step forward.

I don’t see the comparative concern here. milton had an amazing arm and couldn’t complete passes in high school. He was the quintessential “reign in the cannon and you may just got something” project.

Orji has been called the best athlete on a team filled with great athletes. He’s already shown his running ability. He wasn’t able to show off much in the way of arm talent as they had him running gadget playing the midst of a title run. If he is Wilton Speight but fast we got something going here. And if he’s not you have an incredibly experienced B1G backup, a guy who may actually be Wilton Speight in Denegal, and a highly touted true Freshman whose hallmark was reading defenses and completing an insane percentage of his passes. Chillax my dude. This team isn’t going to need to lean on a QB to win many games next year. The Defense and Edwards/Mullings will take care of most of the teams they face.

That last paragraph tells me that if the right QB is in the portal, we'll make a play for him.

That being said, the only thing I really care about is that one QB stands out enough to lay claim to QB1. Team 145 needs to get to 2021-level QB play, at least.
