Suggs has gotten 37+ offers from D1 schools already, so it sounds like wherever he goes he should be a lot better than Cam Goode. Not basing that on any film, but the national interest tells you he's a starter-quality DT at many schools not named Michigan.

This isn't about having a level playing field. It's simply a way for athletes to get compensated by the schools for the money the schools make off the athletes.
NIL is a completely separate issue. Schools won't be going "back under the table with it" because it won't be limited. Athletes will get direct compensation from the school that will be limited, and they will also get whatever NIL collectives want to pay them. Any attempt to limit NIL compensation will be hammered down by the courts.

We can say for sure that Lions improved their CB position. Did they improve any other position on the field? IMO, no. Granted they didn't have a bunch of needs, but only improving 1 position in the draft while trading away a 4th rounder from next year is a "meh" draft to me. C grade.
As a non-Lions fan, I really would have liked to see them get another edge to pair with Hutch. How many years of his contract are the Lions going to waste by letting him get doubled and tripled every play? At least they made a nice DT free agent signing a while ago, but I would have liked to see more.
