If Harbaugh wants to come
It obvious that RR only cares about offense, the special teams and defense are just putrid. I said if he got 6 wins he'd earn another year. But if harbaugh wants to come now, we should give him the job. I'm writing this with 2 minutes to go in the half down by 17. Hopefully there will be karmic justice that makes me eat these words and we pull out an amazing comeback. But we suck.
We can't kick, we can't cover kicks, we have poorly coached, undisciplined freelancers on defense, our best receiver can't catch a cold ball, and our best runner is a twig who keeps getting hurt and dropping the ball.
Switching head coaches now will be another painful transition. But I'm almost an old man now and i'm looking more at the longterm. RR is not a long term answer. I wouldn't mind giving him the OC job. But I doubt he'd take the demotion Anyway, if we switch wake me up in 4 years when he have a chance of being a good team again.

If you're not all in for the Michigan Wolverines get the fuck out of here.
You're all fake ass Wolverines. Fake as hell.

I've always found it interesting that so many people seem to lump everyone who disagrees with them as fake fans.

Harbaugh until his 4th year at Stanford to field a respectable defense. The first 3 years the defenses there were terrible. If you look at the numbers and the way Stanford won games in Harbaugh's first 3 years, Stanford was in a lot of shootouts. Following your logic, would you say Harbaugh only cared about the offense his first 3 years at Stanford? RR is only in his 3rd year at Michigan. A lot can change in one year, especially with the youth of our defense. Just look at the dramatic change Stanford's defense experienced this year when Fangio was brought in (Harbuagh's 3rd DC in 4 years btw).
November 27th, 2010 at 1:47 PM ^
The Stanford team he inherited isn't equivalent to Michigan coming off a Capitol One Bowl win, with a lot of NFL talent.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:51 PM ^
team did Rodriguez actually inherit?
November 27th, 2010 at 1:51 PM ^
Your right, he had a lot more talent available than Rich Rod had when he came in. Actually do some research before you open your mouth.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:56 PM ^
Really? He had two NFL receivers, and NFL QB, and multiple NFL defenders? That must have been the most talented Stanford team to date.
November 27th, 2010 at 2:54 PM ^
you do realize that the receivers and qb went to the NFL that year right?
November 27th, 2010 at 3:05 PM ^
I was wondering where they were agaisnt Toledo... The one thing you can always put on the head coach is his roster, if he can't be held acountable for bringing in and keeping the players here happy, then he can't be held acountable for anything.

Oh that's right, I blamed Rich Rodriguez for something that occured on his watch. Whoops. Now where's that damn goat again...
November 27th, 2010 at 1:54 PM ^
Also, Harbaugh had a GREAT upset win on the road over USC in his first year showing some promise for the future. What is Rich Rodriguez's marquis win in his first 3 years? The 7-5 2008 wisconsin team that finished the season unranked?
Not to mention the respective difference in the quality of the program when each took over.

November 27th, 2010 at 1:46 PM ^
Harbaugh's first three years at Stanford: 17-20
Rodriguez: 15-21
November 27th, 2010 at 1:48 PM ^
STFU
stanford was 1-11 before harbaugh got there.
michigan was 9-4 (and just beat the nc-to-be florida team in a bowl game)
plus...ITS MICHIGAN, ITS F-ING MICHIGAN, BEST ATHLETIC FACILITIES AND RECRUITING RESOURCES IN THE F-ING COUNTRY.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:49 PM ^
But... but... but... we're Michigan and it's UNACCEPTABLE and rabble rabble rabble.
Why can't we finish watching the game before we start jumping off the ledges? Can't we play our bowl before we decide that Rich Rod has to go? Just enjoy the damn team, this is Michigan football. Win or lose, this is our team. I am so goddamn sick of all this whining.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:56 PM ^
For one, Harbaugh walked into a lesser program. And secondly, at least Harbaugh showed promise with a huge win over USC. Who has Rich Rodriguez ever beat? He has been blown out by every decent team he has played except for Iowa in 2009, which we still lost.
November 27th, 2010 at 4:27 PM ^
"For one, Harbaugh walked into a lesser program."
Did he? I don't seem to recall a whole lot of talent on the team RichRod inherited.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:46 PM ^
STFU. It is the Offense's fault we are losing this one. RR has fault in that but damn man wait till the game is over before calling for heads. As for Harbaugh I dont think he has proved all that much.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:48 PM ^
His team is going to be playing in the Rose Bowl this year, that counts for something to me.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:51 PM ^
Pretty sure if Oregon goes to the National Championship game, the Rose Bowl has to take a Non-AQ (TCU) instead of a Pac-10 team this year.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:51 PM ^
Probably not. Assuming Oregon wins out, the Pac10's Rose Bowl bid will go to TCU, mostly likely.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:52 PM ^
In what universe is Stanford jumping tcu for a rose bowl bid?
<br>
November 27th, 2010 at 1:51 PM ^
with our defense, osu with a 3 score lead, the game is over. we had a chance to score on 3 drives, we could have gotten 6 or 13 points on and a chance to be in this game. I'm saying it's over in hopes that it's not. may the football gods prove me wrong.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:46 PM ^
Dude shut up. Don't post again. It doesn't matter whether Rodriguez "cares" about defense. If he gets a blank check to go out and get the best D coordinator that's available it won't matter. And btw, Harbaugh already threw his alma mater under the bus. You think he would hesitate if an NFL team came and wanted to hire him away? I don't Michigan to go fire their coach and bring in a guy that they're gonna have to try and convince to stay every couple years.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:47 PM ^
See ya assholes later. We don't need you "fans" anways. Is it RR's fault that Roundtree is dropping passes left and right? There's only so much coaching you can do before players have to EXECUTE. Do you want to take Roundtree out and put in Stokes or Jackson? I do fault him a bit for Smith. He has a history of fumbling. Our defense has been playing well--OSU is a good team and there's only so much containment.
Shut up and cheer your team on. We've played well but have had some bad luck.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:48 PM ^
If it happens once or twice, blame luck. If it happens constantly for three years, blame the man running the show.
November 27th, 2010 at 1:50 PM ^
Gee who is ever accountable? Things happen at Michigan, and Rich Rod gets a free pass from everyone here because there's some degree of seperation between him and the issue. When does the team become his responsibility?
November 27th, 2010 at 1:55 PM ^
You're right. The ultimate responsibility rests on RR's shoulders. As bad as the defense has been, as bad as the special teams have been, the offense has been great. We're in the middle of a fucking game and people are calling for the coach's head. Go watch. Go for a walk, take a shower and cool off. RR has shown progress, 3 wins, 5, wins, 7 wins. Next year is make or break, and I, along with a lot of other people, are pretty confident RR will show that our patience has paid off. We need to bring in a high quality DC and a new defensive staff, but I am confidence in this team.
November 27th, 2010 at 2:00 PM ^
The offense has been great? 7 points in the first half vs MSU, 0 in the first half vs Wisconsin, 10 in the first half vs Iowa, and 7 in the first half vs Ohio St.
In several of those games (including today) the defense got a few stops early and we could have jumped out to a lead, but the offense failed. Oh and those are the 4 best teams we've played; I'm pretty sure a "great offense" would come out strong in at least 1 of those (3 were at home). The fifth best team we played (PSU), we scored 10 points against in the first half.
November 27th, 2010 at 2:14 PM ^
This guy presents great points, with stats and numbers, and gets negged. Sad.
November 27th, 2010 at 2:57 PM ^
YARDZ OMG!!111
This offense is absolutely dynamite and all we need is more smallish, quick people to lose more fumbles and not keep possession of passes.
After all possession is overrated and YARDZ OMG! is what's in.
November 27th, 2010 at 3:54 PM ^
The defense will not improve enough in 2011 to defeat the big offenses in our conference. By 2012 they will be good enough! I'm afraid RR will get canned next year because NE and OSU will most likely beat us at home. This fan base does not have the patients to wait until 2012, so we may as well bring somebody in now! At least they will get that first year under their belt!
November 27th, 2010 at 1:59 PM ^
let him get some of his own recruits who are upperclassmen.
