If Harbaugh wants to come

Submitted by SFBayAreaBlue on

It obvious that RR only cares about offense, the special teams and defense are just putrid.  I said if he got 6 wins he'd earn another year.  But if harbaugh wants to come now, we should give him the job.  I'm writing this with 2 minutes to go in the half down by 17.  Hopefully there will be karmic justice that makes me eat these words and we pull out an amazing comeback.  But we suck.

We can't kick, we can't cover kicks, we have poorly coached, undisciplined freelancers on defense, our best receiver can't catch a cold ball, and our best runner is a twig who keeps getting hurt and dropping the ball.

Switching head coaches now will be another painful transition.  But I'm almost an old man now and i'm looking more at the longterm.  RR is not a long term answer.  I wouldn't mind giving him the OC job.  But I doubt he'd take the demotion  Anyway, if we switch wake me up in 4 years when he have a chance of being a good team again.

Harbaugh until his 4th year at Stanford to field a respectable defense. The first 3 years the defenses there were terrible. If you look at the numbers and the way Stanford won games in Harbaugh's first 3 years, Stanford was in a lot of shootouts. Following your logic, would you say Harbaugh only cared about the offense his first 3 years at Stanford?  RR is only in his 3rd year at Michigan.  A lot can change in one year, especially with the youth of our defense. Just look at the dramatic change Stanford's defense experienced this year when Fangio was brought in (Harbuagh's 3rd DC in 4 years btw).

I was wondering where they were agaisnt Toledo... The one thing you can always put on the head coach is his roster, if he can't be held acountable for bringing in and keeping the players here happy, then he can't be held acountable for anything.

Congratulations, this may be the dumbest post of all time. I guess it's RR's fault that Henne, Long, and Hart ran out of eligibility. Manningham was gone regardless and Arrington probably was too. As far as bringing back Nike, did you like OSU's unis today? They constantly roll out new throwbacks and shit on tradition. In retrospect, it doesn't surprise me. You're a tool.

Also, Harbaugh had a GREAT upset win on the road over USC in his first year showing some promise for the future. What is Rich Rodriguez's marquis win in his first 3 years? The 7-5 2008 wisconsin team that finished the season unranked?

Not to mention the respective difference in the quality of the program when each took over.

But... but... but... we're Michigan and it's UNACCEPTABLE and rabble rabble rabble.

Why can't we finish watching the game before we start jumping off the ledges?  Can't we play our bowl before we decide that Rich Rod has to go?  Just enjoy the damn team, this is Michigan football.  Win or lose, this is our team.  I am so goddamn sick of all this whining.

STFU.  It is the Offense's fault we are losing this one.  RR has fault in that but damn man wait till the game is over before calling for heads.  As for Harbaugh I dont think he has proved all that much.

Dude shut up.  Don't post again.  It doesn't matter whether Rodriguez "cares" about defense.  If he gets a blank check to go out and get the best D coordinator that's available it won't matter.  And btw, Harbaugh already threw his alma mater under the bus.  You think he would hesitate if an NFL team came and wanted to hire him away? I don't Michigan to go fire their coach and bring in a guy that they're gonna have to try and convince to stay every couple years.

See ya assholes later.  We don't need you "fans" anways.   Is it RR's fault that Roundtree is dropping passes left and right? There's only so much coaching you can do before players have to EXECUTE.  Do you want to take Roundtree out and put in Stokes or Jackson? I do fault him a bit for Smith.  He has a history of fumbling.  Our defense has been playing well--OSU is a good team and there's only so much containment.

Shut up and cheer your team on.  We've played well but have had some bad luck.

You're right.  The ultimate responsibility rests on RR's shoulders.  As bad as the defense has been, as bad as the special teams have been, the offense has been great.  We're in the middle of a fucking game and people are calling for the coach's head.  Go watch.  Go for a walk, take a shower and cool off.  RR has shown progress, 3 wins, 5, wins, 7 wins.  Next year is make or break, and I, along with a lot of other people, are pretty confident RR will show that our patience has paid off.  We need to bring in a high quality DC and a new defensive staff, but I am confidence in this team.

The offense has been great? 7 points in the first half vs MSU, 0 in the first half vs Wisconsin, 10 in the first half vs Iowa, and 7 in the first half vs Ohio St.

In several of those games (including today) the defense got a few stops early and we could have jumped out to a lead, but the offense failed. Oh and those are the 4 best teams we've played; I'm pretty sure a "great offense" would come out strong in at least 1 of those (3 were at home). The fifth best team we played (PSU), we scored 10 points against in the first half.

YARDZ OMG!!111

This offense is absolutely dynamite and all we need is more smallish, quick people to lose more fumbles and not keep possession of passes.

After all possession is overrated and YARDZ OMG! is what's in.

The defense will not improve enough in 2011 to defeat the big offenses in our conference. By 2012 they will be good enough! I'm afraid RR will get canned next year because NE and OSU will most likely beat us at home. This fan base does not have the patients to wait until 2012, so we may as well bring somebody in now! At least they will get that first year under their belt!
