I think he actually seemed to do much less of that this year.  He also seemed to less frequently blow up at officals.  Before I read this post, I had long felt that he was a different person this year in that way.  Am I wrong about that?

I may have this wrong, but looks like he coached with Enos at CMU in 2014?

Seriously, can you do some more exegesis of umbig11 comments to help me understand the meaning? Since you are the oracle who can divine their truth, I’d like to hear more. Don’t quit on me, genius.

I'm glad to know that you feel so certain in your view that there is only one way to read the comment. My observation was that he found Don Brown at BC and I found it interesting that Loeffler is now at BC.  You can say "you're wrong" one more time, though, if it makes you feel better.

01/04/2018 - 2:42pm Sure. There's certainly more

Sure. There's certainly more than one way to read it.

01/04/2018 - 1:24pm Yeah, I'm not advocating

Yeah, I'm not advocating anything here. I was just offering a possible interpretation of the "how he found Don Brown" comment because he found him at BC.

01/04/2018 - 10:17am If we are thinking back to

If we are thinking back to how he found Don Brown, I'll just note that Scot Loeffler is BC's OC and QBs coach.

If he tweeted that after the thing about the 49ers being 7-4, he has since deleted that, as well. I couldn't find it.

12/18/2014 - 11:19am Maybe he didn't like how he

Maybe he didn't like how he phrased his response. It's not easy when people are picking apart every single word used in 140 character bursts, and looking for positive signals or something that suggests a lack of credibility.

12/18/2014 - 11:08am I suggested to him that the

I suggested to him that the 49ers would have been 7-4 at the time of these alleged initial discussions.  He responded that it might explain why interest was low at that point.  I responded again that it would have been an distraction (with Harbaugh reasonably focused on making the playoffs).  He deleted his response to me.  I'm not sure why.  I always find that odd.

12/16/2014 - 9:19am Brian has cited him in some

Brian has cited him in some of the coaching search updates. Moss has been around a long time. He has some sources.  This isn't totally random internet rumormongering.

12/03/2014 - 2:51pm I think he first tweeted that

I think he first tweeted that day that the press conference would be held and that Brandon would be fired. It beat everyone else.  It wasn't a random guess.  And, he's not really in that business, from what I can tell.

That said, I'm not the guy who you mock for buying every internet rumor that comes along. I totally get the skepticism.  And, I don't care what you all believe. I'm just saying that the salt that goes with this report in particular should probably be of the grain and not the boulder variety.

12/03/2014 - 1:58pm I'm not saying he's right

I'm not saying he's right about this, but I think he had Brandon's firing before anyone else.  Brian might vouch for that.

12/03/2014 - 11:18am I think you are reading too

I think you are reading too much into it.  Read the next sentence after he mentioned bowl games:

"They may be in bowl games. They may be…you know, wherever they are in their status..."

I don't think you can make any judgment at all about a pool of candidats limited to college coaches based on that statement.

09/29/2014 - 2:24pm This probably wasn't intended

This probably wasn't intended to be a diary, but I'll just point out that it seems unlikely to me that Harbaugh would be stupid enough to go to Miami given the acrimony in that front office. Have you read the backstory on Aponte?  It doesn't sound like she's going anywhere, and if that's true, Harbaugh would be jumping from one bad situation to another.  I'm not sure even Ross's money could paper that over.

Great.  Well, then the problem was either provider-specific (which AT&T denied) or it was an issue in certain pockets of the city.

09/22/2014 - 1:57pm There was a problem with the

There was a problem with the broadcast in the Atlanta area (and possibly others).  They screwed up the regional coverage such that ABC and ESPN2 were both showing Texas A&M vs. SMU.  This continued until some point in the 3rd quarter when the complaints must have finally bubbled up to the people who fix these sorts of things.  At that point, the UM game became available on ESPN2.

03/21/2012 - 3:47pm I'm guessing "DB" isn't

I'm guessing "DB" isn't "wondering what happened to Beilein and the program in such a short time frame" because Dave Brandon is smart enough not to evaluate the status of a major program by only looking at a three week period in which nothing that could be construed by any reasonable person as "negativity breed[ing] negativity" took place.

No, I'm well aware of the last four years, thanks.  As I said above, I just think this is overkill.  I don't think that's that controversial of an opinion.

04/19/2011 - 2:29pm For what reason do they need

For what reason do they need to travel around the country and "get the former players pumped up?"  I'm not being a smartass.  I really don't see why it's necessary.  I'm not saying they need to spend all of their time watching film like has been suggested above.

But he has a lot of former players in his phone...or whatever...

04/19/2011 - 1:38pm I don't understand why this

I don't understand why this is necessary or a valuable use of the coaches' time.  I understand the perceived need to "mend fences" or whatever, but if this is true, it seems to be overkill.

03/27/2011 - 6:30pm Butler lost two starters and

Butler lost two starters and they were pretty important.  Gordon Heyward was their best player and a lottery pick in last year's NBA draft.  Willie Veasley (who now plays in Japan) was a critical defender that, like Heyward, could guard almost anyone.  Their struggles early this season were almost entirely related to defense.  They've found a way to make up for those losses.

03/14/2011 - 5:56pm He's an asshat. One thing

He's an asshat. One thing I've always hated about the tournament is that CBS injects him into the mix when things really start to matter, i.e. the conference tournaments and ncaa tournement.  He has nothing to do with college basketball all year, and then we get to listen to him drone on and on about the most important gamesr.  He's not really good at it, either.  While I dislike his style, generally, and don't enjoy him calling golf, at least he's more suited for it.

02/26/2011 - 8:04pm He's taking some time off

He's taking some time off after signing day?  There's probably not a less eventful time for recruiting all year.  Although, I guess he could be reporting on offers going out.
