Hello: Grace Harbaugh

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on April 29th, 2019 at 7:28 PM

On her dad's latest podcast, he shared the news that hasn't been reported anywhere else.

Grace Harbaugh (Coronado, CA/Coronado HS) has signed with Michigan Water Polo.

Michigan just got done winning their 4th straight CWPA Conference Championship yesterday. On the Harbaugh Podcast, Jim talked about how he wanted his daughter to go to Michigan but wanted her to make her own decisions. Options she considered were San Diego, Marist and several Ivy League schools that are in the CWPA along with Michigan.

Here is a photo from her signing day (far right)

Funny enough, when Harbaugh was first hired he and Grace took a photo with Head Coach Leonardi back in 2015 when he was in his first season and he tweeted the picture out.

Congratulations to the Harbaugh family! It really says a lot about Coach Harbaugh as a father and family man. This makes 3 children and his parents who have followed him to Ann Arbor. That's a helluva statement!

So his daughter stayed in California while the rest of the family lived in Ann Arbor the past 4 years? That’s weird.

Yeah! ........ cuz those teenagers love to be transplanted 2000 miles away from all their friends at the most delicate of moments in their social growth. Sooo weird.

Especially for a fan base that might have shipped him off to a completely different city by now, cuz, you know ............"rivalries".

Damn ........it's almost as if most of you have NO CLUE! about all the sacrifices made so you can complain your team runs too much on first down.

MAROOONS!

I knew about Jay, guess I could have figured that she was also from that same marriage. Doesn’t Jim have a gay son about the same age as this daughter with his current wife?

Edit: just did a google search and Jim has kids from 3 different marriages. Didn’t know that.

I do!

That's why I'm happy it was so convenient that Jay was not only in a position to join the rest of the fam in A2, but lso has the skills to contribute at such a high level on the coaching staff.

Plus, as a father myself, I really respect that sometimes those involved with high level "athletics" sacrifice more than just time away from family but miles away too.

So Welcome Grace! May you tread easily in A2!

I still find it amazing that Jim has so many kids. I only have two and that is all my wife and I can handle.  It is just impressive how he balances his personal life and work.

you might be surprised what the father of many kids does to make it all work.  and besides, he kind of has a split ticket, so to speak, with an older set mostly out of the house and the younger set with him and sarah.  i'm guessing it is to JH's great pleasure that he deals with the minutae of child raising at least from time to time.  he seems like that kind of guy.

Hmmm... I’m glad for Jim and Fam. Not pleased with some of the comments above. Leave young kids alone. If you don’t like Jim, have at it.

Nice to see a kid of privilege earning their way into an elite university based on their talent, merit, and hard work.  Refreshing story given the bevy of stories recently around other kids getting into school on scholarship as "players".

FYI, Grace, Blimpy Burger has moved, but Mr. Spots is still in the same place on South State.  Enjoy your time in Ann Arbor!
