Georgia's run defense vs Michigan run game is at center stage. Georgia's run defense has been very tough all year. The monster in the middle is the significant reason why.

This will definitely be the biggest test of the year for the O Line.

What does Michigan do? Pump it up, and prove them wrong!

Michigan is 11-2 against the spread, 2-0 outright as the underdog, covering the spread by an average of +10.6 points, and increases that to +22.3 points as the underdog.

not sure what the fascination of odds are unless you actually bet on games.... it is what it is and the outcome will be determined on the field.

Its a win/win imo. Michigan doesn't stand a chance versus the mighty SEC, so if they lose, it was always the expectation. IF they manage the upset, then the Team overachieved and the coaches and players will get a ton of credit as well as play in the Championship Game.

My keys to the game:

1. Special Teams: Punt and kick-off returns.  We need to start in great field position on average.  Shorten the field. Eliminate the need to require sustained drives of 80-90 yards against a stingy D.

2. QB play:  need Cade to play MSU level - agreed.  Need JJ to scramble and hit the quick strikes downfield to keep GA D off balance. Both need A games.

3. Hutch and Ojabo: come to play. Keep their QB honest.

4. RB play:  Haskins needs to wear the line down. Blake needs break-away runs.  Edwards more receiving plays.

Michigan can pass the ball as was seen in the MSU loss. Maybe use the pass to set up the run in this upcoming game.

I'd love to see Andrel Anthony pop some big plays, again.

Hail to the Victors!

Stop it.

MSU has the worst pass defense in the COUNTRY.  See MSU/OSU.

There is no team worse.

Georgia's pass defense, statistically, is better than ours.

This thought that were just going to pass all over them is nuts. Bama did it, but that doesn't mean we're going to (doesn't mean we won't do it either). But as I've said, their run D is like Wisconsin and their pass D is like Washington.

To me this game is a tossup. Georgia has much more consistently taken care of business against ordinary teams, but that's irrelevant here. Their defense is certainly more talented than anyone we've faced so far, but it isn't *that* much better than Wisconsin's, and it sprung holes against Alabama that weren't just a function of a talent disadvantage. Their offense is good, but our defense has held up against better. Do they do anything better than Ohio State does?

I'm thinking this game will be 20-17 or 24-21 one way or the other.

Great! Let it be -14 by game time. Michigan doesn’t care how big of an underdog they are this year, they just roll on.

The keys to this game (IMO) are being creative to move the ball in ways to gas the big scary defensive tackles. I see a big another big game for Corum (8-12 carries again, but major change of pace in the run game), Edwards, Henning and probably another where 8-9 receivers get 1-3 catches, successfully moving the ball downfield. Ultimately this will gas the defensive front and give Haskins the room to run late in the 3rd and in the 4th.

The other key is pressure, pressure, pressure, and containing the UGA run game on 1st down, contain the UGA TE on 2nd and 3rd. Make the UGA QB wish he didn’t have to drop back at all come 3rd and 4th quarter. I don’t think this team has 1 receiver as good as the top 3 for OSU, or even Jahan Dotson for that matter. I like our chances, but we have to be sound in every phase of the game, can’t get out-athleted at any level.

And I will be honest, I keep thinking Mikey Sainrsitil is going to have a big game at some point (he’s flashed plenty) with multiple TDs and over 100 yards. He has earned it with his exceptional blocking and good route running, an incredible team player with a will to win, he is a great athlete, and he was at one point our favorite pre-season hype guy….I think in one of these next 2 games he shocks even us and shows how much of a weapon he is in the slot.

I am a bit surprised to see the line going higher.  I placed a small bet at +7.5 and thought for sure it would trend down to the +4 to +6 range.  Whatever, I still think Michigan can beat this team.

Let it keep going, and put money on Mich at + whatever it ends up.  Put the same amount on Mich and the money line.  I also will be putting money on Mich to cover and the over in addition to that.  There will be more than 44 scored in this game. Michigan is going to win.

I'm not sure how much narratives impact actual performance, but I do get a sense that Georgia sees this game as just the prelude to the Alabama rematch.  It's not often that you could say an opponent was overlooking Michigan since the whole Big10 hates Michigan and OSU, but I think that may be happening here.  Georgia's a big favorite, Alabama's an even bigger one, and I think both teams are thinking more about the re-match than the first game.
