My alma mater Air Force playing undefeated San Diego State. Getting a chuckle every time I see Hoke clapping...

Hoke's team looks very competent in all game phases vs a pretty good AF squad.  I like Brady and really scratch my head at his well coached team vs the declining performance we saw at M.

If your predecessor (RR), didn't recruit a QB in his last class and you didn't recruit a solid QB in your first class then you don't have a QB in your last year at the helm.  What Hoke had at the end for QB was a wide receiver that couldn't read defenses leading a very, very limited offense.  The rest of his mistakes were forgivable.

Edit:  SDSU is doing well based on AF turnovers.  Will the turnovers stop?

You're wrong.  In the offense that Devin Gardner was recruited for, he would have been almost as devastating a QB as Denard Robinson was in that offense.  Don't blame Gardner for Hoke's/Borgess' failures as coaches for putting him in a situation he wasn't suited for.

I absolutely HATE this trope about 'glorified WR' or 'RB' playing QB.  Neither DRob nor Gardner were ever going to be any good as pro-style drop-back passers - which is what Hoke wanted them to do.  But leave them in a spread - like Hoke did in 2011 - and they were damn good.  (Well, at least we know Denard was, as Gardner never got the chance...)

I'd ask when was the last time anyone saw a kicker hit an 80+ net punt and make a 50+ FG in the same game, but Araiza did it last week too.

I was at the game tonight as my nephew got invited as a recruit. Got to meet Coach Calhoun before the game. Was a pretty cool experience. And Air Force should have won. They missed probably 3 wide open throws that would have went for six including a drop early in the game.
