Pretty good for someone not that tall!
/s
He had lifts in his sneakers...
I could clear 50 easy
Watch him run a 4.5 in a few moments...
4.42 ??♂️?
Gil Brandt said two scouts around him had Bush at 4.25 and 4.31.
Hand timing errors for sure but still worth mentioning because it's fun.
How does that rank for LBs?
That ranks high for corners, RBs and WRs! Insane.
Fascinating. That leaping ability sure impressed John O’Neill @ Iowa.
It's pretty fun watching him and Devin White posture for top LB. White is obviously atop everyone's board coming in, but he's only got an inch and 3 pounds on our Devin, and Bush just slightly out-jumped him. White got Bush by a single rep in the bench.
It will be interested to see their testing the rest of the way.
Edit: 4.44 on his first run. Don't hurt em, Devin.
You really have become quite insufferable anymore.
become? He always was.
No problem. I didn’t have to go out of my way at all to share Michigan combine news on a Michigan fan message board.
Honest question: Why do you visit this message board when you clearly hate everything about it?
As a fan, I sure hope the Steelers draft him.
He's going to be a Redskin
Not sure he'll last that long. The Falcons and Bengals would both love a guy like him.
He seems to be exactly what the Steelers draft and have turn into stars.
Bush was such a good player. He’s another one that’s going to be hard to replace.
yeah he cant be replaced. hopefully they find a similar player in 10 years or whatever but it wont be easy. production, leadership, combine measurables, etc, hes obviously a unique player and the best at michigan in some time
Devin with a 4.44!
Best LB 40 time so far.
Omfg 4.44
4.44 on his first 40. Holy shit
4.52 on the second. We will keep the first.
That's just insane !
4.44 40 time!!!
$$$$$$$$$$$
Gary, Winovich and Bush are DESTROYING the combine today.
Insane that Bush ran faster than Higdon. Wow
Elite LBs are faster than above average RBs, it seems. Devin was one of the best LBs of the last couple years.
It seems like you get a lot of fun out of shitting on Higdon, but he's a really good athlete. Bush posted a 40 time faster than anyone not named Justice Hill, who's probably not a classic RB-type in the NFL. But Higdon's 4.49 was one of the top numbers put up by the RBs this year (and would be top-15 over the past 3 years), and he's been a top performer in a bunch of other drills as well. He's a good athlete and a pretty good college RB. Bush is going to be a really solid NFL LB, but Higdon isn't some slouch. He benefitted from solid run-blocking this year, yes, but he's still a more talented guy than probably was expected for the 40th-best RB in the nation when he signed.
Yeah, 4.49 is an excellent time for an RB.
Guy is a freak of nature and was so fun to watch on D. He's about to get paid and deservedly so. He's going to be sorely missed.
I still think he should have stayed one more year, he has so much to gain from another year in college.
obligatory /s
By that I mean WE had so much to gain.
IIRC Fab fiver Jimmy King jumped 44, and he was considered the best leaper in college .
I remember King dunking from nearly the free throw line in a game. He could fly.
And a 4.44 40. Devin White ran a 4.42. Given their nearly identical combine performances and Bush's absolute dominance on the field, how do mock drafts still have Devin White still have ahead of Bush?
By the time this process is all said and done I think this will turn into more a 1a and 1b situation than the clear divide it was going into the combine. If Bush isn't a first round pick then NFL front offices are even more ridiculous than we already think they are.
Both are still undersized and not a fit for what some teams are trying to do. Schemes like Patriots or Lions seem to prefer bigger LBs.
Devin White was a consensus 1st team All-American and equally dominant at LSU.
Compared to Bush, White had nearly twice as many total tackles, 4 more tackles for loss, 3 more forced fumbles...
Nothing against Bush at all, there's just a legit reason that White is on top of people's mocks.
But did he take on an entire jackass Sparty team?
Just sayin...
Touché
4.4 40. Wow! He's the freak.
Man I'm gonna miss that dude next year.
41 inch verical. No wonder he was one of the most explosives players. Some serious quick twitch muscles.
So Gentry has a 29" vertical. So does that mean 5'11" Bush with a 41" vertical would get the jump ball over 6'8" Gentry?
''A+" math work!
Only if Gentry's arms are less than 3 inches longer than Bush's arms
6 guys to the NFL.
Oh I look forward to each coming year....
