That would be nice, but we're a little late to the party here. I haven't followed his recruitment, but is there concern that other schools have already taken the lead with Simmons?
November 5th, 2015 at 4:31 PM ^
If you're going to post something, do it right.
Kid has offers from -
8 B1G teams, including Mich, MSU, OSU, PSU, and Wisc.
5 SEC teams, including LSU, Tenn, and Ole Miss.
Multiple decent PAC-12 (ASU, Wash) and ACC (Miami, ND) teams as well.
Article on MSU/OSU/ND interest
With so many major players already involved, I wonder why we slow played? Maybe we figured it would be a given if we wanted him?

Vandy is one of them - the other one is Texas A&M

Seems like with hometown recruits, you're usually either the prohibitive #1 choice or else you have no chance.
November 5th, 2015 at 4:11 PM ^
No kidding. Imagine the conversation with his parents when he gets home from school:
"Hey Antjuan, how was your day?"
"The usual. Got offered by the University of Michigan. Coach Harbaugh pulled me out of class to let me know. Also got a 90 on that geometry test and the cafeteria served fishsticks"
November 5th, 2015 at 4:11 PM ^
Do you like fishsticks?
November 5th, 2015 at 4:13 PM ^
Love em.

Do you like putting fishsticks in your mouth?

Is it that breaded has something to do with genius? Which swims?
November 5th, 2015 at 4:33 PM ^
Do you have a reason for thinking this other than that his high school is across the street?
November 5th, 2015 at 4:06 PM ^
i'll take another drake johnson
November 5th, 2015 at 4:12 PM ^
But this kid can go to basically any school in the country judging by his early offer list. Drake's only other option was Eastern Michigan. Now Drake has worked out for us and overachieved, but this kid appears to be the real deal from a recruiting profile perspective.
November 5th, 2015 at 4:22 PM ^
The real deal just like Isaac and Green. As the poster above said...I"LL TAKE ANOTHER DRAKE JOHNSON!
November 5th, 2015 at 4:33 PM ^
No offense to Drake or any of the others on the squad, but I want another TYRONE WHEATLEY SR.!
November 5th, 2015 at 4:35 PM ^
yeah i miss when we had super humans carrying the ball
November 5th, 2015 at 5:06 PM ^
As well as those on the OL.
November 5th, 2015 at 7:42 PM ^
Does anyone else remember the early 00's game against MSU when Chris Perry carried the ball 164 times for 1222 yards (these are hazy memory figures)? I miss those days...

He had a bazillion yards rushing his senior year as I recall plus he was a state ranked hurdler in track. The beauty of recruiting is that there are a lot of players nationwide like Drake. The trick is finding them.

There's a reason Harbaugh likes "well-rounded" kids who play multiple sports.
November 5th, 2015 at 4:49 PM ^
Drake was probably underrated because he chose not to go to camps. He was a terrific high school player (speaking as a person who went to Pioneer and is the same year as Drake). He just focused on track over the summer rather than attending football camps.
November 6th, 2015 at 10:18 AM ^
to me. He was a highly productive RB in high school, a track athlete star with good size, and when i saw his film i was like "wow" this is can't miss kid. Then I look and see he is a 3-star RB that pretty much no big time school has offered. That one still confuses me.
November 5th, 2015 at 4:08 PM ^
I imagine Harbaugh getting into a car parked on the side of the street, pulls out, does a U turn and immediately parks on the other side of the street, gets out and casually strolls into the school.

That was my first reaction as well, although more of a sprint with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.
November 5th, 2015 at 4:15 PM ^
In my mind it's a U turn done with an intensity unknown to mankind, even the Stig.
November 5th, 2015 at 5:02 PM ^
It may have been an illegal U turn. Two police officers were watching. One said to the other "that was beautiful"

Jogging is for wussies with nothing better to do. Real men sprint everywhere, preferably with their hair on fire.
November 5th, 2015 at 4:50 PM ^
Why are there cleat marks in my office?
November 5th, 2015 at 4:54 PM ^
It's s easy to forget, Harbaugh's not just an alum, he's a townie.
November 5th, 2015 at 5:00 PM ^
He taped the offer to a football and threw it to him across the street.
November 5th, 2015 at 6:06 PM ^
I bet he dropped in on his way to the grocery store to get milk and steak.
