Awesome clutch balance beam performances to close it out!

Ends our drought—first national championship since men’s gymnastics in 2014. That’s only the third time we’ve had a drought that long (1970-1989 and 1904-1918 were the others).

They had led all the way through the first three rotations.  It looked like the beam was going to get the best of them but we got three of the best beam performances to pull it out on the last gymnast's performance.

I loved hearing them chant "It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!"

The two 9.7's scores opened the door on Oklahoma and Utah gymnastics to get through but the last three beams pretty much shut the door on them. Talk about coming up big in the clutch! That was well deserved!

I just looked at the roster and it looks like Michigan should be set to repeat next season because they won't lose anyone significant due to graduation.

As soon as I saw that beam was Michigan's last event, I couldn't relax, even though they were doing so well and leading through their first three events. Doing that upside down and flying stuff over a 4"-wide piece of wood?  One slight misstep, one little wobble by one of the top gymnasts...

But what a triumph it made at the end.  Bravo team!

Sierra Brooks, Natalie Wojick and Abby Heiskell has came through the clutch in the final routine. Two outstanding scores and one great score put them over the top. All finished in top 3 in AA in the championship meet. That will do it for Michigan.

How awesome will it be to (one hopes) be at the football game this fall where they bring them out for recognition.

Also notable—none of our gymnasts won individual first places in any events or all-around. Truly a team effort. The Team, the Team, the Team!

did i hear it correctly that coach plocki has 24 big ten titles - the most of any coach in any sport in big ten history? is that just gymnastics ? either way, this was incredibly deserved and a long time coming .. i was in school when elise ray was a student and gymnastics star
