TCU is making it a game against Oregon, now down only 31-17 with a quarter to play. WVU and Arizona St kick off at 10:15.

So, I'm not watching the game (no TV access). But I'm really wondering about the spread offense. Is that contributing to Oregon falling apart? More specifically, the spread really depends on a mobile QB, right? Like Denard or even Gardner? So if your QB, who makes everything click, goes out, you are sunk.

Of course, I don't know if this is the reason why Oregon has botched this game, with it now being tied and all. But it strikes me that a spread offense is much more vulnerable to a QB going out with an injury. Dunno. Just wondering.

Yeah, it doesn't matter what offense you're running, if your backup QB isn't ready to play, your team may struggle. Baylor runs a spread, but they had a couple of decent backup QBs. Those backups kept Baylor's team competitive.

Well, there are running spreads and passing spreads. For running spreads, it seems like it's tough for the QB to make it all season without injury, but I don't have the numbers in front of me. The solution, obviously, is to recruit a lot of good QBs to prepare for that contingency. Oregon never seems to have a good backup.

No, Oregon's coach seems to be still living on Chip Kelly's pixie dust. He doesn't seem to be a good coach. I think things will start to go downhill for Oregon over the next few years. Plus, last I check Urbz offense has been pretty successful. Not the same as oregon's offense, but still a form of the spread

TCU completely blew that opportunity. Holy shit this is a-maize-ing. Also a close Oregon win is probably the best outcome for M

TCU should have thrown a few into the endzone before that last 3rd down.

Still, Patterson is probably thinking that he likes their chances in overtime. I do too.

This seems awfully weird... Idk how a team in the FBS ranked in the top 25 can blow a 31 point lead. I understand their qb went down, doesn't matter. It's 31 fucking points.

Oregons play the RB just jumped up and down before the ball was snapped.  That should have been a penalty.
