Given that Les has the #4 class in the nation at LSU, I think he might do pretty well in that arena.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:51 PM ^
at any cost though. picks up kids and throws them away without giving it a second thought.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:18 PM ^
*tap dances*
Let me see Schad say Michigan and Les Miles agree to a deal and I might start skipping.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:19 PM ^
Maybe Les is genuine when he says he isn't interested and won't even get an interview. Although Hokeamania is looming larger and larger .
Mad Hatter or Hokeamania? I miss RR....
January 8th, 2011 at 9:24 PM ^
And he dumps Crowton and brings in a young OC.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:27 PM ^
Loeffler or too soon.
January 8th, 2011 at 10:08 PM ^
Was Loeffler at all involved with the rumored Moller's wife drama?
January 8th, 2011 at 10:57 PM ^
now it was a 3-way?
How about we throw in a one legged midget while we're at it.
EDIT:
Sorry, forgot my manners . . . "physically challenged little person".
January 8th, 2011 at 10:55 PM ^
If Scott was involved with that "drama", it would certainly affect his standing with the "family".
I hope the rumors are not true. Was Moeller's wife hot?
January 8th, 2011 at 11:18 PM ^
Just too early. Five years of the Hatter then Loeffler.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
Ha! Hokeamania - mental image of a Chris Farley type guy ripping his Michigan shirt off on the sidelines pre-game. That sort of a carnival-esque activitiy would be par for the course for college football's winningest team that, within 3 weeks of NSD, has not one official HC, DC/OC or asst.
WTF are our players doing now? Hopefully Barwis has them occupied.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:54 PM ^
Maybe Les is really more.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:19 PM ^
is French for Gruden, no thanks.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:19 PM ^
Uggh. I'd rather chew broken glass than have Miles as coach.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
How about broken grass?
January 8th, 2011 at 9:54 PM ^
I think that was a typo, he did mean broken grass...just like his hero and number one coaching prosepct, Les Miles.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
HERE YOU GO BRO
January 8th, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
to get this job.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:20 PM ^
if they haven't been contacted until now. But if they had to contact him now... Hope it's just a comparative study.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:24 PM ^
He probably wasn't going to talk before the bowl game. If the Cotton Bowl was earlier, this might have been a done deal.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:34 PM ^
Huh???
Maybe Micigan "officially" waited until now because Miles played a bowl game yesterday. Maybe DB has the class Barnacle Bill never did and let LSU's season finish before contacting Miles.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:50 PM ^
did you just make that up? Hilarious, reminds of some made up spongebob character.
January 8th, 2011 at 10:19 PM ^
I cannot take credit for it but I despised Bill Martin... stopped giving to the school while he was there.
Barnacle Bill is a Dave Shand thing. For background on the nickname, read on. There are four parts:

January 8th, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
Given his current predicament with cutting kids and other unsavory practices alleged at LSU, I would prefer he keep the sliminess of his (supposed possible) exit to a minimum.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:51 PM ^
Maybe RR left an extra bottle of snake oil in the supply cabinet?
January 8th, 2011 at 10:33 PM ^
Most coaches, when they leave a school, don't try to coax all the recruits to follow. It just looks terrible. Especially if the coach is leaving a school he likes, as Miles would be. Maybe a couple would follow. Don't expect many.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
A SHOCKER
January 8th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
Les or Gruden at this point for me
January 8th, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
I agree
January 8th, 2011 at 9:48 PM ^
Championship pedigrees right there. I hope we get an indication that Gruden is in the picture (confirmation not from Fox 2).
January 8th, 2011 at 9:24 PM ^
wants to interview like we are interviewing gruden? at least this means that he isnt definitely coming, like the video in the "Les Miles mum" led me to believe
January 8th, 2011 at 10:10 PM ^
wants to interview like we are interviewing gruden?
I think we're only interviewing Gruden in fantasy land. Miles will interview in the real world.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:24 PM ^
At this point after all the Harbaugh hooplah, I don't believe anything these people say.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:25 PM ^
He would definitely create buz. Stealing a head coach from a good SEC program would be an accomplishment. He should be able to finish this class strong I would think. And shoudl be able to keep Denard.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:35 PM ^
i agree and that buzz is important. our football program is taking a beating right now, and even if there are some unappealing aspects of les miles, we almost need to make a statement with this hire that we're still a relevant power. perception is a big deal in college football (e.g., with recruiting), and the public reaction to a hoke or coordinator hire -- even if those guys are good coaches -- could deal a pretty hard blow to the program.

January 8th, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
with looking only at current head coaches is that they can re-structure their contract and stay. That can't be done with assistants because they would be guaranteed a raise at the new location.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:45 PM ^
January 8th, 2011 at 10:25 PM ^
some pretty small "pom-poms" too....
January 8th, 2011 at 9:50 PM ^
farley and miles look the same in this pic!
January 8th, 2011 at 9:26 PM ^
I think DB has cooled on Les, for whatever reason.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:28 PM ^
I trust Schad more than you because he ends his sentences with ", sources say."
January 8th, 2011 at 10:39 PM ^
Since DB visited Miles in Dallas earlier this week, according to sources, and nothing has leaked about him being the next coach, the natural assumption would be that he's not the choice, sources say.
January 8th, 2011 at 9:27 PM ^
will take anybody but Brady Hoke,By that i mean a guy who has coach at a big time place before!!!
January 8th, 2011 at 9:28 PM ^
With Hoke DC and Loeffler
January 8th, 2011 at 9:44 PM ^
That'd be a great combo, setting the stage for future coaches and re-creating the NFL machine that Michigan recently was.
