It wasn't just Elway...Condi Rice, Jim Plunket...they're pulling out all the stops. Me thinks Jimbo will not get out of the West Coast alive.
Hey Jim, want to run for Congress? Hey Jim, want to be President? We're in trouble! DB, what's the plan sir? What is the plan?
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:53 PM ^
As another Mile High M fan, not a big fan of Elway in general... stay away from our next coach, Horseteeth.

Harbaugh = Lloyd Carr
Is crazy.
Harbaugh has a tenacity that shows up in his players that Michigan never had with Carr on offense. The 97 defense the huge exception.

How will JH take to the Gatorade bath?
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:50 PM ^
The same way Nick Saban did
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:48 PM ^
Jimmy sure is making a lot of NFL general managers smack their lips right now.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:14 AM ^
And a lot of Michigan alums, too
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:49 PM ^
Tirico says he suspects Jim is going to the NFL.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:53 PM ^
Mike Tirico is not getting any free meals in A2 anytime soon.

And how nervous were we in that first half about Stanford looking bad? Wow did they kick ass this second half.
Whatever happens with Jim Harbaugh, I have to say I respect him as a coach. He's good. If he comes to Michigan I just hope for once that the fan base will be on the same page. It's been so rough seeing a fraction of the fan base rooting against their own team just to see a coach get canned.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:52 PM ^
I just hope he can have more success, should he come here, changing the entire offensive scheme around. I'm afraid of more 7-5 seasons with Harbaugh being at Michigan and the fan base just about starting a nuclear holocaust.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:53 PM ^
If he comes to Michigan, 95% of the fanbase will be ecstatic.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:50 PM ^
so much for the "what if stanford gets dong punched tonight" scenario.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:02 AM ^
"What do the new breed hatred say if he dies some dong punching tonight?" became a reality.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:51 PM ^
Please come home Jim. Please.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:52 PM ^
Whatever happens, I'm happy for Stanford that they at least kept Harbaugh for the bowl. He and his seniors get to go out with a great victory.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:07 AM ^
Everyone wondering why the delay, you just hit it. They deserved that experience free of distractions and poaching by other schools.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:52 PM ^
Let the war for JH begin!
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:52 PM ^
Goes, Stanford might be the 2nd best team in the Country.

"They've got Harbaugh on their shoulders!"

"King Harbaugh, King Harbaugh" Fielding H. Yost is smiling down from football valhalla with Bo George Patton Schembechler...
Maybe in a couple years boys..

Let the shitstorm begin....
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:53 PM ^
Harbaugh hasn't been this proud of himself since he was Saved by the Bell.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:53 PM ^
talk to the players they did it... Outstanding and classy move.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:53 PM ^
Man Harbaugh wanted nothing to do with that postgame interview
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:53 PM ^
good lord
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:54 PM ^
That was a pretty savvy move by Harbaugh there by pulling the player up to talk to Tafoya.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:55 PM ^
OK, all the prelude events are now officially concluded.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:56 PM ^
Yep. Now the real fun begins.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:01 AM ^
It's going to be like the Decision only with a football coach and without the hour-long ego special
This offseason is going to be a very interesting one for him...personally I think he ends up in the NFL. He is a red-hot commodity, and Michigan is in line with a ton of other NFL pro franchises, those that don't have NCAA rules and regulations
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:56 PM ^
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:57 PM ^
I'm still on the RR bandwagon, but I gotta admit if Harbaugh comes here he'll do a fantastic job of following in Lloyd's crotchety footsteps where the sideline interview is concerned.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:15 AM ^
i didn't hear any "tremendous"es in there.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:57 PM ^
Ah man I want him to be our coach SOOOO bad. Is there anyway we can out pay an NFL team? I mean Michigan has a lot of money but I don't think we have NFL money.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:07 AM ^
I don't think this is about money. It's about what he wants - Michigan or the pros.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:01 AM ^
Hats off to our Alumn Jim Harbaugh! Whether he comes home or not he's represented us well! I wish him and his family the best with their plans for the future.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:59 PM ^
Wow, what a awesome night for Stanford! THIS is the college football I prefer, no dirtbags or thugs at Stanford. Probably not the highest talent level, but a work ethic and consistency that pays off not for just that team, but everyone watching. Very nicely done.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:00 AM ^
Man, the Orange Bowl chairman really can't read that card in front of him. He also appears to be on a ton of cocaine.
OHMYGOD DAVIDNELMS COMBOVER!

JH: To hell with your questions, this is Stanford's moment.
Now that is cool.

I love how Harbaugh just dissed Reese and Michelle earlier and when reese tried to ask him about his future and told him to respect the game and ask his kids questions and let them enjoy the moment.
Pretty disrespectful for Tafoya to then go to the kid, ask him 1 question, just diss him and run over to Andrew Luck !
Let them enjoy the moment, tomorrow you can hound the Harbaugh and Luck all you want about their futures.
