Rivals ranks the Bowls in terms of "Attractiveness"
According to Rivals, we'll be in the 7th best bowl to watch this offseason. But, they also play up the 'Mullen is the hot name, Rich Rod once was' angle as well.
December 6th, 2010 at 2:38 PM ^
If by #7 they mean #1 then I agree completely.

I swear to God (or some higher being, if one exists) that I posted this exact same response at about 9am this morning. I wonder where it went? TRSaunders, did you somehow write your name in and steal my post?
December 6th, 2010 at 2:42 PM ^
I initially thought "hey, that's not bad" then I looked at a lot of the bowls after M's and thought "wow, what a drop off"
December 6th, 2010 at 2:44 PM ^
the Poinsettia Bowl is pretty. Although thought to be fatal, it can really only cause minor skin irritation, diarrhea, and projectile vomit.

No Poulan Weed eater Bowl?
December 6th, 2010 at 3:00 PM ^
Qualcomm is just an awful place to watch a game. 50 yard line, 10-15 rows back, and you still can't see what the hell is going on. But I'm thinking SDSU and Navy will put up around 450 yards each. Should be fun to watch.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:05 PM ^
Cool that San Diego gets SDSU and Navy. It's like having two home teams.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:07 PM ^
is in Annapolis, MD.
San Diego is certainly not a home game for them.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:10 PM ^
I believe there are significant naval bases out that way as well as marine training bases too.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:12 PM ^
The Navy has a huge prescence in San Diego, so while the Academy is located in Maryland, there will probably be more fans in San Diego.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:12 PM ^
The Navy.
San Diego is pretty much a giant Naval Base.
December 6th, 2010 at 4:41 PM ^
for Hot Shots! reference.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:14 PM ^
Hence, the home game reference.
December 6th, 2010 at 4:42 PM ^
If you want to find a large concentration of USNA alums in a bowl city, San Diego is it.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:31 PM ^
I swear you post in every thread I read on this board. If we still had the old format, your bio would probably read "Joined in Oct 2010, 7000 points". I think you have set a record for most MGoPoints in a two month period.

The Fiesta Bowl is 21. Sucks to be BCS bowl that takes UCONN.
December 6th, 2010 at 2:52 PM ^
its not like they had a choice.

As the T-shirts...
December 6th, 2010 at 2:51 PM ^
That would be my pick, if not Michigan vs MSU is pretty sexy as well
December 6th, 2010 at 3:57 PM ^
Glad to see the "post a picture of hot chick and get points" theory is holding up strong.
December 6th, 2010 at 4:23 PM ^
Also glad to see that the "guy who points out that the "post a picture of hot chick and get points" gets points" theory is holding up as well.
December 6th, 2010 at 4:40 PM ^
I think it's your picture. It is fucking awesome.

Braylon says............"Who in the hell gave a QB our #7 jersey?"
December 6th, 2010 at 2:52 PM ^
Rich Rod used to be the "it" coach. Can't escape it anywhere.

I'm a little interested in the Outback Bowl at 18, but I was the Sports Czar I'd cut just about everything after that. I say "just about everything" because I'm actually kind of intrigued by the Pinstripe Bowl- not the game, but the idea. Isn't NYC a better destination than half of the games now?
December 6th, 2010 at 3:03 PM ^
you mean a group founded a bowl this year for sparty? and what do they do? win a couple more games than they should have to shun the inaugural bowl. lame.
also, the godaddy bowl should be ranked higher to watch based on the commercials alone.
December 6th, 2010 at 2:55 PM ^
I feel bad for the Little Caesar's Bowl. They went from having a Big 10 team playing in it to Toledo v. FIU. Good luck filling out Ford Field.
Crazy that the a BCS game is 21st, but I agree. The Fiesta is going to be a beatdown by OU. In previously years the Holiday Bowl is one of the most excited games, but with the ascension of the Alamo bowl it's been downgraded a little bit. It's nice to see Washington back in a bowl, but playing a team they lost by 5 TDs to at home? Might be ugly. I'm surprised the Insight passed on Nebraska for Missouri. Iowa v. Nebraska would have been a pretty good bowl matchup.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:12 PM ^
Most teams from the midwest are trying to get to Florida for a bowl.
This florida team (FIU) ends up coming to the midwest for a bowl.
December 6th, 2010 at 4:12 PM ^
they went from a 17-0 lead in the Big 12 championship to the fifth pick. Nebraska fans travel to so I'm shocked at the disrespect shown to them this year. I wonder if this being their last year in the conference has anything to do with it?
December 6th, 2010 at 4:49 PM ^
I always thought that the Chick-Fil-A bowl game is probably one of the better bowl games. SEC vs. ACC always an exciting game.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:01 PM ^
I was really hoping for a TCU v. OSU game, although I knew it wouldn't happen. Would love to see E. Gordon Gee eat his words.
Wisconsin v. TCU should be a good game, though. However, they all fall behind the Gator Bowl.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:10 PM ^
Impressive because in terms of two teams with at least 4 losses already, we come in at 7th overall? That's the best for 4-loss and worse teams facing off.
Other highly ranked matchups with 4-loss and worse teams:
10. Chick-fil-A (FSU / South Carolina)
11. Sun (Miami / ND)
18. Outback (Florida / PSU)
23. Independance (Air Force / Ga Tech)

but I don't get all the breathless hoo-ha about Erin Andrews. Maybe she's got a great personality.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:23 PM ^
If she wasn't a sideline reporter playing to a captive male audience at football games I don't think there would be so much commotion about her.
Definitely not a top-shelf hottie a'la Holly Rowe.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:33 PM ^
Holly Rowe?
....
Oh, wait, I get it.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:36 PM ^
I like hot looking ladies. End of story.
December 6th, 2010 at 6:04 PM ^
Moonface, isn't it?
December 6th, 2010 at 4:09 PM ^
Hey now she's a nice lady!
December 6th, 2010 at 3:30 PM ^
I hope this is sarcasm.
Nobody is perfect. She has her flaws. But she is still SUPER hot and likes sports. How can a guy complain?
December 6th, 2010 at 5:42 PM ^
I think her obsession with Florida football takes her down a few notches. An Erin Andrews who loved Michigan football would be approximately twice as hot.
December 6th, 2010 at 6:06 PM ^
You do get that she went to Florida, right?
Also, if we had a "Michigan Erin Andrews" she would most definitely be Asian and I would love her.
December 6th, 2010 at 7:16 PM ^
Oh, yeah, I'm not saying that she shouldn't love Florida football. It just makes her less hot to me, a Michigan fan. I would find "Michigan Erin Andrews" much hotter.
December 6th, 2010 at 3:41 PM ^
Is pretty hot. A beautiful woman who likes sports is tough to beat. I went to GA/FL this year in Jacksonville and that place is pretty cool. The Landing is a cool place you can eat and go out at night. Tailgating down there is fun. The taxis are cheap. If you go to the Landing at night you can take a water taxi for like $5. Jacksonville is a fun city, I would recommend going if you have the chance.
December 6th, 2010 at 4:04 PM ^
ESPN has us 14th. ND-Miami is 10th and is "one of the sport's greatest rivalries". Schlabach is still dumb. Oklahoma-UConn is 9th... seriously.
December 6th, 2010 at 4:44 PM ^
I miss the Catholics vs. Convicts rivalry.
December 6th, 2010 at 4:27 PM ^
I know it's already been mentioned, but it's worth repeating... man I feel bad for Nebraska. A couple plays away from the BCS and now you're playing a 6-win team you already beat by 5 tds... at their place. Same goes for Boise. Good grief, give us a playoff already. Anybody who actually supports the bowl system needs to take a good look at bowls 8-35 on this list. What a crapfest.
December 6th, 2010 at 6:00 PM ^
how exactly would a playoff improve those lower bowls? I don't get it.
