On the Hoof: Hayes is built like a big cornerback. He has wide shoulders and is very well proportioned. I also think he has the ability to gain another 15 pounds. His body structure is reminiscent of Notre Dame running back Theo Riddick.
Needs Improvement: He will need to add some more strength and size in order to make yards after contact at the next level. He could work on his balance. He needs to keep his feet moving, making it harder to bring him down.
Most Impressive: Very, very quick back with good speed and ball skills. Hayes is very versatile and could player defensive back, wide receiver or running back at the next level. He is a high-character kid that possesses serious leadership skills.
Conclusion: This kid will work hard and learn the playbook before most other incoming freshmen in his class. He has the ability to be a punt returner and a gunner on all kicks. He adds instant speed and will be hard to keep off the field.http://rivals.yahoo.com/michigan/football/recruiting/player-Justice-Hayes-85603
Read the first entry. Only RR, Fred Jackson, and Justice know for now. Sounds Promising.

Talk about it in The Fort
Grand Blanc (Mich.) four-star running back Justice Hayes decided to rescind his pledge from Notre Dame this past weekend after being committed to the Irish since July. On Monday, the nation's No. 3 all-purpose back made a decision to take his services to a new school.
"I'm a Wolverine now," Hayes said. "I just got off the phone with Coach Rodriguez and Coach Jackson and told them what direction we wanted to go in."

Easy on the premium content.

I'm not sure the copy-paste of the first paragraph was needed, but there was literally no information in it except Justice Hayes committed to Michigan, which was reported all over. The second paragraph is a player quote, which is not copyrighted. While this added little (nothing?) to the discussion, there's no premium content issue here per the rules of our great MGoBlog overlord.
I suspect we can all move on with our lives much in the fashion we did before.

I'm sure some of you knew this, but it was news to me after reading up on him that he projects to possibly be a corner. Think we move him there with how many guys are at running back?

Howell. One of the best teams in the state
November 23rd, 2010 at 9:49 AM ^
Those were junior year clips right? When Howell was No.7 in D-1. When they dominated the KLAA conference and held Austin White to 35 yards? You remember Austin White, right?
Yeah. Howell is a damn solid program.

Something good might happen
EDIT: Hmmm hayes doesn't have dreads though...I guess we could let it slide this once

I'm just waiting now for the inevitable:
It's second and goal from the one. Michigan is driving and Denard turns and hands the ball off to Hayes who hits the line hard, but is stopped and a quick whistle blows for forward progress and Millen says "Justice delayed is justice denied."
Then Dee Hart scores on the next play and Millen says "Just goes to show, you've gotta have hart."
He'll do it, you know it.

He's from my town!!!!
In my evaluation, I give him four "LIGBs" which are sort of like stars, but more long-winded.
Here's an excerpt from my personal scouting report:
Hayes is a quick, gliding running back with a lot of natural ability. Has just adequate size but runs harder than listed measurables and his quick-twitched athleticism allows him to run with deceptive strength. Flashes great elusiveness and suddenness through the hole and second level. Sees the field well and redirects through the small creases sharply. Can stop-start and make tight cuts showing great balance and body control. A great jump-cutter who consistently makes the first guy miss but will also stick his foot in the ground and get north; elusive but a decisive runner as well. Lowers the shoulder on contact and runs through a lot of arm-tackles. Feet and body never stop on contact allowing him to spin out of a lot of arm tackles. Very slippery and does not give defenders a clean shot. Polished hands and receiving skills out of the backfield add to his upside, however, he projects to be more of a change-of-pace, multi-purpose type of back at the major college level; at least until he fills out his frame and gains more downhill power. Has good top-end speed and an extra gear to separate when he turns the corner but does appear quicker than fast at times. That said, Hayes has big-play potential with his initial burst and ability to reach top-speed extremely quick. Would make an ideal space-player in a spread offense at the next level; could develop into a great weapon if used creatively.

That is exactly what this offense needs. Anyone who has watched Oregon much knows that the key to this offense isn't so much being flat out fast, but rather to hit the holes extremely quickly and hard.

More like copied and pasted ESPN Insider information.
Nice try.

Haha. Yeah. This was an exceptional personal scouting report until Tim posted the ESPN scouting report in his front page write up. There are some, uh, similarities....

Wow - everytime he scores a TD, I'mma scream - "Sweet Justice"

Welcome aboard!

This is great. C'mon on up here, DeAnthony, you know this is where it's at!
November 22nd, 2010 at 10:23 PM ^
I was just thinking the same thing. It was rumored that Hayes might be leaning towards Tennessee because he is friends with DA. Maybe Hayes can do some recruiting for us.
November 22nd, 2010 at 10:39 PM ^
Well, we didn't get Watkins, so the path is cleared for Arnett to be our stud receiver.
November 22nd, 2010 at 10:22 PM ^
Woke up, lost Sammy.
<br>Going to bed, got Justice.
November 22nd, 2010 at 10:25 PM ^
Now we have are Devine(Hayes and Hart), now we need our Slaton(Rawls).
November 22nd, 2010 at 11:07 PM ^
Hopkins can be Slaton.
November 23rd, 2010 at 12:00 AM ^
Hopkins is nowhere near being fast enough to emulate Slaton.
November 22nd, 2010 at 11:09 PM ^
We're most likely done with RBs and slots this year. So, Shaw, Smith, Hopkins, Fitz, Cox et al will have to do for Slaton. I'm ok with that.
November 22nd, 2010 at 11:36 PM ^
Absolutely, with Dee and Justice, we don't need another RB. But, Rawls seems like a monster of a big back. However, we do need some DLine guys more right now.
November 22nd, 2010 at 11:43 PM ^
Rawls is good, but I think we're good in the beef machine department with Hopkins. A stud NT/DT would be fantastic. It seems like we're good with our youngsters, but we lack the heir apparent for Martin. Hopefully Washington can fill that role.
November 22nd, 2010 at 11:54 PM ^
Hopkins has it, but he is our only real big back and IMHO, you need a back up in case Hopkins gets a little dinged up. The big back on the option dive worked pretty well until Wisky. But, Rawls is a last second luxury. We have more pressing needs on D, and we really need some guys to take over for Martin. I guess with his grades, my hope of him walking on will never happen.
November 22nd, 2010 at 10:25 PM ^
If we get Zettel, this is a really nice in-state class.
November 22nd, 2010 at 10:26 PM ^
Hopefully this doesn't deter Dee Hart.from coming. It would be nice to have a two headed monster of a backfield .
November 22nd, 2010 at 10:29 PM ^
That RR will be back next year. This kid would not come if he didn't get the idea that RR would be around.
November 22nd, 2010 at 10:29 PM ^
Not knocking the OP, but I'll believe it when Tim or TomVH post it. But if it is true, welcome Justice to the Blue family.
November 22nd, 2010 at 11:00 PM ^
I'm content to take Brian's word for it...
November 22nd, 2010 at 10:29 PM ^
Not bad for a coach who can't recruit this state.
November 22nd, 2010 at 10:31 PM ^
Michigan takes Grand Blanc's Justice Hayes commitment, as an athlete.
Athlete? This mean he is open to playing D?
November 22nd, 2010 at 10:48 PM ^
I was glad to hear we weren't taking him for his artistic skills.
November 22nd, 2010 at 11:11 PM ^
In the rivals story, Justice is quoted as saying whatever position the coaches want him to play, he will play.
November 22nd, 2010 at 10:34 PM ^
Denard, all receivers back, dee hart, justice hayes, most of the o line back. dirty

Gotta love all the ND fans pissin themselves because Justice de-committed by sayin ohhh APP State, oh Rich Rod is gonna get fired. Really? because that same year we beat ND 38-0 and held them under 100 total yards, and at least Rich Rod hasn't lost to the Naval Academy or Tulsa this year and his players aren't rapping girls ohh the Irish.
