Just a little Friday morning meandering
Here we are, 1/4 of the way into the football season, on the doorstep of Big 10 play, 3-0, on a beautiful Friday morning, staring the weekend right in the mouth, and my mind is wandering to all of the beautiful reasons it's great to be a Michigan fan. This thread has no purpose whatsoever except to make you feel good and reminisce about the best things in Michigan football.
It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine because:
Morgan Trent was faster than the SEC.
Denard Robinson is faster than Morgan Trent.
of Laser Rocket Arms.
of 313 yards.
of Touchdown Meeeeeechigan.
Because of The Game, and The War.
It may be my final win, but you guys are still the stars, so put me down already!
We're Mad Magicians, baby!
but we're also just bigger and stronger and better.
of First Games,
And all those after.

It brought a smile to my face, a slight tear to my eye, and joy to my heart...
Man, I love being a Michigan fan.
I did think you needed one arrogant, comment/picture in there. Maybe Griese and Woodson holding the 1997 Rose Bowl trophy and the comment being like "because we're better than you and we know it."

I love Michigan Wolverine football. That and Long was / is a freaking beast.
September 24th, 2010 at 9:41 AM ^
That picture of him is simply menacing. It made me pee a little.
September 24th, 2010 at 11:37 AM ^
It's hard to tell with the helmet, but that picture's not Jake. That's actually Taylor Lewan from the future.
September 24th, 2010 at 11:54 AM ^
It's so nice when we can look at a current player and say, "You remind me of [previous great player's name here]." I hope he does as well as Jake Long did. Also, our OL is awesome. Denard deserves nothing less, and they deserve someone that awesome to be able to take advantage of their blocking.
September 24th, 2010 at 12:48 PM ^
Denard must have ran there and sent it back as a fear not, we are in good hands kinda thing.
September 24th, 2010 at 10:30 AM ^
Last Sunday was the first time I sat down and watched a full game of his in the NFL. He just mauled Jared Allen all afternoon.
September 24th, 2010 at 9:40 AM ^
It had a great purpose. Love the pics, the memories. Now I am even more pumped for tomorrow. Thank you!! GO BLUE!!!

Hey Young -- Better get back on your meds to control your itching trigger finger. Two double posts within an hour!

Its no better no a saturday afternoon than watching Michigan football!!!!
September 24th, 2010 at 9:46 AM ^
It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine because we can take joy in watching anyone pound Brutus.
By all means, please add your own meanderings!
September 24th, 2010 at 11:29 AM ^
Is that a big sweat spot on Brutus's belly?
September 24th, 2010 at 9:47 AM ^
Rich Rod should offer the Ohio Mascot a scholarship. He showed good shin angles on Brutus
September 24th, 2010 at 9:53 AM ^
No way -- he tackled way too high. He missed a wide open tackle and couldn't shed the block of the male cheerleader at the 50 yard line. Plus, he was flagged for a late hit in the endzone. Shin angles don't matter if you tackle at the shoulders!
September 24th, 2010 at 9:57 AM ^
Over 50% of Brutus Buckeye's mass is above his neck, so tackling him at the shoulders is the same as tackling a normal player at the hips.
September 24th, 2010 at 12:10 PM ^
Except for late hit, sounds to me like he is perfectly suited to make the two deep as a linebacker.

Tom Brady aaaand...Matt Roloff?
September 24th, 2010 at 10:17 AM ^
I saw him on SportsNation and I lost it. I think that kid is second to Denard in popularity on this board. Lloyd Christmas/Tom Brady love child or not kids' a celebrity...
September 24th, 2010 at 1:35 PM ^
So did I. I was in tears I was laughing so hard.
September 24th, 2010 at 1:46 PM ^
Is killing me right now... I just want to shake this kids hand...
September 24th, 2010 at 10:21 AM ^
His hair is blooming like a mushroom. Lloyd Christmas/Tom Brady needs a haircut.
Edit: Nice name choice Brewandblue, beat me.
September 24th, 2010 at 11:16 AM ^
Strangely enough, my hair looks exactly like that except black. I'm constantly getting crap about the mushroom on my head.
Speaking of which, anyone know where a supercuts is in Ann Arbor?
September 24th, 2010 at 11:45 AM ^
Just cruise by any strip mall you can find. You'll see one. Or if you are lucky maybe a Bo Rics.

I too found myself thoughtful and contemplative of the maize and blue and all the goodness it brings today. Seriously, take a time-out for one minute, and forget the job, or the bills, or whatever the heck is worrying you right now, and consider this:
IT IS THE LAST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER, not early June, not February, not the last weekend in April. We are gloriously in the middle of the most perfect time of year, otherwise known as football season. And WE ARE 3-0, and on the cusp of a fourth. AND, well, DENARD.
Life is never perfect, but it's always good. Go Blue.
September 24th, 2010 at 10:31 AM ^
Everytime someone bashes RRod I resort to this and I win every time...
September 24th, 2010 at 10:32 AM ^
This one is probably my favorite of all. Still get tears every time I watch that. I could not have said it better myself cjm!
September 24th, 2010 at 10:54 AM ^
I've mentioned several times on the board before... my grandfather works at the stadium (65 years now) and I was born on campus. As much as I love cheering for any team that wears the Maize and Blue, it always makes me more proud to think of the "family" attitude of this fine institution.
September 24th, 2010 at 11:18 AM ^
Oh man, that one snuck up on me. I'm pleasantly scrolling through the thread, then BAM, picture of Brock, and I immediately start choking up.
September 24th, 2010 at 12:47 PM ^
This is the best pic of them all. A truly inspirational story that will be talked about for years to come.
September 24th, 2010 at 10:27 AM ^
Its also great because our former quarterbacks end up with girls like this (although it would be even better if I got girls like this):

What other school has the most winningest football program and academics that are in the Top-25 in the country every year? (Answer is none because there is only one most winningest football program, obviously). Michigan is a one-stop shop!
September 24th, 2010 at 11:02 AM ^
Hahaha I am laughing so hard I am crying... that is awesome. I think I pissed myself a little.
