3-year outdoor durability is crap quality. Probably calendared vinyl that will peel and crack after a few years. If they don't say it's cast vinyl, I wouldn't buy it. I just print my own, buy that's what I'd recommend. Having rapid air or egress air adhesive is a bonus and makes install a breeze.

I think the knock on the S&C staff is warranted. One thing you glean from watching tennis is every opportunity they get to replenish and rehydrate, they're doing so. Federer eats a bite of banana periodically throughout the match. Nadal has a special "recuperation" drink that he prefers during matches. I can only think of one instance in the current US Open of a player cramping up, despite the extreme heat they're experiencing during play right now. I don't know what the Michigan staff does specifically, but there's surely a problem; having two of your most important players sitting on the sideline simply cannot happen.

Do some of these pass interference calls we've seen so far this weekend seem concerning? Looks like they're calling it very close and any contact is being called.

Sign up on Massdrop and request the A1E drop. They've run it maybe 3 times now, not sure if they will again or not considering the 2018 A8F is the new model, though they're pretty much identical other than the stand, which won't matter if you're going to mount it on a wall.

My dad got the 65" for $2900, but on the last drop, the 55" was $2100. They shave off about $300 every new drop. The 65" was going for around $3500 at all the normal retailers (plus 10% tax in Alabama). Massdrop there is no tax, so we figure he saved close to a grand at the time of purchase.

My dad got into a Sony A1E after his plasma finally gave way. Ridiculous screen. Got it from massdrop with a really nice discount, plus no sales tax. I'm still using a Panasonic plasma. Would definitely consider a Sony OLED when the time comes.

Yes, you are correct. That is for 2 semesters. My major point still stands though, that these athletes can live pretty comfortably and still pocket a pretty decent amount of cash after graduation. My analysis was just a quick look. I bet if you dove into the numbers a bit, you'd find that I grossly over estimated cost of living.

04/25/2018 - 2:51pm I've said this before

I've said this before concerning paying athletes, but how much more do you pay them? With current room and board rates, an athlete that does not live in campus housing collects $14,816 per semester from the university. Minus living expenses (~$700 rent, ~$200 utilities, ~$300-400 food), you could walk away with a Michigan degree and north of $50,000 in your pocket, more if you require a fifth year to complete your degree.

You also have a marquee matchup with Miami (ytm) coming to town the second week of the season.

Not sure if I qualify as a jackass, but I thought the opportunity at Toledo was unbelievable. Returning 3 all conference receivers, good o line, RBs will be good again, pass happy offense.

03/27/2018 - 6:22pm The next "big payoff" isn't

The next "big payoff" isn't going to one-and-dones, it's consistently getting top 40-80 guys. Michigan is getting 60-130 type guys in the recent past and occassionally a higher rated player. If they can get to that next tier, Michigan will be a perennial power.

03/23/2018 - 3:05pm For the record, FSU went with
For the record, FSU went with Forest when CJ Walker pulled a groin. I disagree with Cofer on the SIBMIHHAT metric. Michigan should be very mad if he starts hitting threes. He's an extremely streaky shooter, as most of FSU's players are. Angola has been solid all season; Savoy has really come on in the second half of the season. MJ Walker is a solid player who is going to be a top player in the conference the new few years, he's just been struggling recently. This game is a great matchup for Wagner as the only big FSU has that can stick with him is Kabengele.

Can't understand why Gonzaga went away from the zone. FSU has struggled all year against the zone.

03/22/2018 - 11:45pm I live in Tallahassee; I've been to a few games

I live in Tallahassee; I've been to a few games this year. They turn the ball over a ton and don't shoot the ball from 3 very well. Somehow, they're a team that figures out how to win. They play pretty solid defense. They're long and athletic, but I think Michigan matches up really well with them. It always seems like someone different is stepping up every game. They are very streaky shooting the ball. Angola is probably their most clutch guy, which should be an interesting matchup for Z.

He actually did it again on the next four free throws he shot.

03/20/2018 - 2:34pm Interesting thing I noticed

Interesting thing I noticed while watching that "Last 90 seconds" video: when Devin Davis hit both free throws to give Houston a 1 point edge at 62-61, he actually should have been called for a lane violation on both shots. The first one was really bad and it looked like the ref at the bottom walked up and said something to him about it. The second free throw was really close, and I can understand it not being called live, but he did enter the lane before the ball hit the rim.

This is why they have dual drives, or in some cases more than one bay in laptops. Get an SSD to run the OS and programs on and leave your files on a secondary drive. And then if you have other computers at the house, share those drives and have them back up automatically. I realize this doesn't help you now, but going forward you won't lose everything.

02/06/2018 - 12:40pm There are studies that

There are studies that conclude that having a master's or phd doesn't equate to a higher quality teacher. Higher ed aside, the biggest problem is that we don't reward highly effective teachers. There is zero competition for their skillset. Teacher quality has the largest impact on student's education, moreso than any other factor. If we want to fix education, we should focus on measures to increase teacher quality.

02/05/2018 - 3:14pm Actually, we spend a lot of

Actually, we spend a lot of money on education. We just happen to spend it on things that don't actually make education better. Look no further than how far teaching has fallen as a profession the past 30-40 years.

01/30/2018 - 9:34pm Also, the $7 for cream puff

Also, the $7 for cream puff games are the price you pay from the University from the time they're released up until gametime at the ticket booth. The #2 team in the nation (UVA) is coming to town next week and tickets are available for $15. The closest comparable team left on Michigan's schedule is Ohio State with tickets for $30.

I'm not saying Michigan needs to cut their prices in half for those big games, but games like Iowa @ for $20, why would anyone pay that much to see that game? And especially those tomato can games; there's no reason those shouldn't be $10 or less from the ticket office.

01/30/2018 - 8:51pm Yeah, Crisler also has 1,600

Yeah, Crisler also has 1,600 more seats. FSU is also a legit football school. The last time they won a regular season conference championship, they were part of the Metro Conference (1989). They have one Final Four appearance in their program's history (1972). Contrast that with Michigan's 7 appearances, 5 runner ups, and one national championship.

01/30/2018 - 3:17pm The answer is the price of

The answer is the price of tickets.

I saw Duke @ FSU for $40 last year. That was secondary market too; face was $20. We've been to home games against Miami, Louisville, and North Carolina so far this year. Cost us about $80 for two tickets for the three games. These weren't even way up in the rafters tickets either. We had great seats on the baseline. Powder puff games are $7.

01/30/2018 - 3:10pm If you make tickets

If you make tickets affordable enough so that it doesn't cost a couple hundred to take your family to a game, you'd be able to fill it every game.

01/30/2018 - 3:06pm FSU is not a traditionally

FSU is not a traditionally good basketball school, but has been in the top 25 each of the past two years. Powder puff games are $7. BIgger games are around $20, but can be had for less. We purchased a 3 game pack of two tickets for $80. Saw Louisville, UNC, and Miami. We also attend some women's games. Just saw ND (both teams are top 10) for $1. Broke the attendance record for the women's program. Typically, tickets are $6 for them.
