You can its just not recommended for Video Games and they're relatively expensive. One of my friends from home made a new cover for his Madden 09 and after he played for a few hours it started to peel and then he couldn't get his disk out of his xbox because it would snag on the tray
Named rosters usually take about a week to be posted. So I wouldnt expect any by the end of this week. The earliest I have seen in recent years was proabably the Sunday after the game came out, and it was late Sunday night. So dont get your hopes up about them being done by the end of this week.
They definitely will be done by the end of the week. The "Community" crew at Operation Sports (of which I am a member) has had the game since Friday and been working around the clock on them.
Thursday at the very latest. :)

I love this game and each year I'm amazed at all the hoopla over downloading rosters. It is just one of those things I don't get in life like why women can't just say which restraunt they want to go to. I'm fine with seeing #5 at qb and if I wasn't I could edit his name in like 20 seconds. Once you go thru all that if you are in dynasty most of your roster is overhauled in 3-4 years and all those guys are gone anyways.
It's like the people at my work pissed waiting for the elevator, I always say the stairs are 5 steps that way. To each his own and I have no problem that people that want the names, but you can take it to the bank that there will be multiple posts in each game thread looking for rosters, where to get the rosters, don't pay for the rosters etc...
You care enough to vote so could I please get an explanation. You care enough about your roster names that you are looking for downloads, but you are willing to wait a week to get them when you could have the starters done for Michigan in 10-15 minutes? I'm not trying to be an ass I really just want to understand what you are thinking because I don't get it. Maybe I am missing a part of the game that I should be taking advantage of or the download offers more than I know.
It's not like people won't play the game withiout named rosters. The names just make the games more realistic, thats why I use them. Plus, named rosters are just a few steps away from team edits, which then lead to ratings edits. Another adavantage is then you have the real names for Madden draft classes. Again, it's not like people won't play the game without them, they just make it that much better.
it's not just a roster for your team its every team. So any pickup game or any season for the first 3 have accurate rosters. Which is a plus it would be like playing madden but only having numbers instead of names.
I had to drive 3 cities over today to get the game. I'm not working so I didn't have the money to buy it yet and only 1 Blockbusters in my general area had it. Now I'm home and I need to do a damn system update, so f***in annoyed. Buckeye02 said he'll have the name rosters out on the 16th or 17th in the link meglomaniack provided, but I don't know if I can wait that long. My ps3 tag is NukeEm1287, if any of my MGOBreathren come across named rosters before then send me a msg please, or leave it on this thread but once my update is done I don't know if I will do anything other then play for the next 72 some hours. I will be alot like cartmen from the world of warcraft episode of southpark.
I think Buckeye02 is usually the first one out. If I remember right, last year his were out Monday or Tuesday. My psn is heatmiser15, so feel free to add me and we can play and Ill let you know if I see anything about rosters.
EA has just come out with a new policy that is going to negate the ability to rent a game and play online or buy used. See note below:

I typically rent from Gamefly, and then purchase it at the used price as it ships. Cost $43 on a $60 game, and you get it by Wed, but this will really hurt rental companies for any EA games, and if they do this for all 1st person shooters too, it will drive consumers to purchase, or not to purchase, but rental will be out.

I was planning on buying NCAA11 last night, but circumstances have led me to put my system on ebay.
I am insanely jealous of everyone that has the game.
If so, how does it compare to the last few on PS2? I realize I am stuck in the dark ages with the PS2, but with them not making the game for the Wii it's my only choice. Did they add online dynasty to the PS2 version this year? Is the gameplay any good?
I got my XBOX version at KMART on Maple about 20 minutes ago. They seemed to have both verisons.
I couldn't find the "Run Clock" mode from last year's game anywhere. I haven't looked online yet to see if they got rid of it, but that would be very annoying if they removed that feature. It was one of the best new things they did for last year's game.

It has just been moved. You set your Tempo to Conservative, and that will bleed the clock like last year's game. This is in constrast to an Aggressive Tempo that your Michigan offense should be using almost always.
I'm up for a PS3 Dynasty if anyone else is. Could wait till the end of the week for the named rosters to be available.
Haven't gotten the game yet (waiting for it from Dell, hopefully earlier than July 23rd), but would definitely be down to play in the online dynasty.

i hate playing online...3 games played...all 3 disconnects...i dont know if EA's shit can handle it or what or its the DB's that are playing...i should be 3-0 but im 1-1, some how 1 gm didnt get counted... how hard is it to just play a straight gm.
For the PS3 online dynasty... I'll be honest, I'm no whiz at the game, but still looking forward too it. You can also do the non game play items on line now, (during work!)

Bad news is Obi Ezeh is getting beat on coverage and thrown to consistently. Good news is he appears to always hunt them down and deliver devasting hits, I think he has his own big hit screen shake animation.

Everytime I put it in it freezes right after the intro video at the logos/disclaimer screen. HELP! Does anyone have any suggestions? This is the first game I've bought in a while and this is beyond frustrating to put a brand new game into the console and not be able to play it.

but before you put in the game, log into the online service and download any and all updates. Then, make sure that your HD has enough free space. That's all I have.

Does anyone else have a problem with injuries on the first drive I lost Tate, Denard, and roundtree
only issues I have had during my first season is having my receivers hold onto the ball, they drop everything. My tightends on the other hand catch everything even if they get hit as they catch it.
I noticed that too, then I switched the "catching" metric over to conservative and now its fine.
texas is worse than OU? why is OU constantly amazing in the NCAAs. texas always seems to be bad compared to them(doesnt mean i dont destroy OU every chance i get, dont get me wrong). how is nebraska's OFFENSE is better than their DEFENSE? come on.
I'm doing a dynasty with wash state and im getting wrecked every game on heisman difficulty ='(
Yeah, I used to be able to handle Heisman alright in NCAA 10... this is ridiculous.
I highley doubt they do, but if you want you can make custom confrences and it would include them, though it would require you to drop another team.
