Some Don Brown Quotes on the Defense

“I’ve been doing this a long time. This might be one of the fastest, if not the fastest, groups I’ve ever been around. I’m pretty excited about it.”

“This Devin Bush Jr. is a special guy now,” Brown said of the junior.

“[Junior] Khaleke Hudson was playing at a tremendous level a year ago, and I think he’s a much better cover guy right now, playing at a much faster rate. "

“[Sophomore] Josh Ross is going to be a dude. He’s a very good player. [Redshirt freshman] Drew Singleton … very good player. [Fifth-year senior] Noah Furbush, he’s so far up from a year ago, we’re just very excited about where he is.”

“[Junior] Devin Gil is a dude now,” Brown continued. “If you said to me who has benefited the most from Ben Herbert, he has. He’s faster, bigger, he’s strong.'

"He, Josh Ross and Drew Singleton will be at WILL. Jordan Anthony and Devin Bush, we’ll be cross training one of those guys at MIKE and WILL and Cam McGrone will join us in June. That six there, that’s a pretty good group."

“[Junior] Josh Uche, he’s a package guy, now becoming a linebacker."

If y'all remember Chris Clark, he's not going to be with Pitt this spring for personal reasons. I remember being pissed about his decommitment and I know a lot of people here felt we dodged a bullet when he transferred to Pitt from ucla a week into his first season there. At this point, I'm just hoping the kid gets whatever help he needs.

To actually be diagnosed with a serious psychological disorder his behavior would need to be maladaptive, unjustifiable, disturbing and atypical. I see two, maybe three of those in his actions over the last couple of years. Labeling someone with psych issues is easy, but more times than not it’s more like they need a good mentor or need to learn how to cope. Maybe it is a psych issue, but I’d bet no. The coping skills of most kids and young adults in this day and age are... um... let’s just say.. not good.

I feel pretty good about where this program is at. We may not go undeafeated, may not make the CFP, but we will compete with the best and win or lose this program is headed in the right direction.

Should hire a new strength coach ever year because the players always get bigger, stronger, and faster with the new guy.

Would love to sit in on a D meeting listening to him and Coach Matty talk football. What an education for young coaches and grad assistants!  Better, like what he's saying about Kwitty Paye, who's going to be a break out beast this year.  Hope all the positive comments and reference to Hendricken point that big 4*  2019 OL from Warwick RI to Ann Arbor.

Man, not many things I look forward to reading more than Coach Brown's assessments.  If you look up "passion" in the dictionary, it says See Don Brown.
