Exit Dan Enos?
earlier there was a report that saban was trying to poach dan enos that sam webb quickly dismissed with a "he's not going anywhere." yet 15 minutes ago he changed his tune and now says the story is legit. he's not saying enos is gone, but that his departure is a real possibility.

Matt Canada to Maryland while we may lose Enos. Peachy.

We wouldn't be in this predicament if only Jim had consulted you, Mgoczar, before making his hiring decision.

I'm starting to think that might have been better than what's transpiring now . . .

The odd thing about this is that the only offensive position open on Bama's staff is TE coach. Maybe they give him a co-OC title with Locksley? I swear If UM keeps Pep Hamilton and loses Enos I'm going to blow a gasket.
January 25th, 2018 at 5:14 PM ^
That would be big news if you blew a gasket. So unlike you...
January 25th, 2018 at 5:17 PM ^
Curious, what would that look like....'cause.....well....we all know...that one time.....yep.

Didn't Enos and his wife both grow up in the state of Michigan?
Didn't Enos turn down UGA to stay at Arkansas?
Not a good look to lose him with Pep and Drevno staying.
January 25th, 2018 at 5:10 PM ^
but he did not turn down UGA (his contract with Ark prevented him from even talking to UGA).
January 25th, 2018 at 5:46 PM ^
doesn't that apply to alabama also?
Separately:
I wonder if this is a shit or get off the pot move. the same thing happened with Partridge and the staff took care of it.
Do the right thing people.
The whole idea behind harbaugh was that we wouldn't have to worry about coaching shit like we did with RichRod and Hoke, I would like a peaceful offseason for a change.
January 25th, 2018 at 5:11 PM ^
Only hope is that the wife wants to live in Michigan vs the South.
January 25th, 2018 at 5:10 PM ^
I don't see Bama going 0-2 on not getting what they want. If they want him, they will get him.

Unless his M contract somehow voids that but it would make more sense if there was a time period or else everyone would do this to get out of non competes.
January 25th, 2018 at 5:35 PM ^
If we allowed him to sign a contract that voided an ongoing non-compete clause he had without adding some language to the contract that would similarly prevent him from turning around and screwing us, then our lawyers (Warde's lawyers) fucked up, not Jim.

I do not like Saban. His attempts to poach Partridge and now Enos only help add to the perception that Harbaugh's staff is not stable.
Even in the case of Partridge, where it worked out, now it is easy for opposing teams to say he only has a two year deal so he won't be there beyond your freshman year.
I really do not like that little man, devil, whatever.
January 25th, 2018 at 5:16 PM ^
Two year contracts are standard for assistant coaches.
January 25th, 2018 at 5:20 PM ^
Yes, but not every assistant has a two year contract AND recently signed it because they were weighing alternative options from what has been one of the best programs.
January 26th, 2018 at 9:51 AM ^
He signed it because he weighed his options, and felt like Michigan was his best option.

I mean, if winning a coaching battle gets your rocks off, knock yourself out and celebrate.
Personally, I'd prefer a win @ND, @MSU, and @OSU...but - hey - different strokes for different folks...

The ridiculousness of this fcuking clown show argument over the last 150 posts is that the posters here just haven't had a year to crap all over Enos and determine that he too is a bad coach.
If he stays, just give it time.
If he goes, we will have lost a combination of Lombardi, Walsh, Ditka, Belichick, Coryell and Landry . FredJackson'd

I love how everyone at the time thought the Enos hire was uninspiring, now they will be irrate if we lose him to Bama.
