OT: Nasser Molested Simone Biles Too
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/simone-biles-says-she-was-molested…
This guy should be punished up to and probably beyond the maximum punishment allowed under the law. He should die in jail, sad and alone, with his victims' pictures covering every inch of his cell.

"with his victims' pictures covering every inch of his cell."
You might want to rethink this. He would probably enjoy that too much.
January 15th, 2018 at 6:05 PM ^
Giving him those pics would be putting the fox in the hen house.

January 15th, 2018 at 6:31 PM ^
I'm also thinking he shouldn't die alone. He needs a large cell mate with violent sexual tendencies.
January 15th, 2018 at 6:40 PM ^
This could be right, but I am not 100% sure either. He may discover newfound sympathy for his victims while in prison, and for victims of sexual assault in general, if you catch my drift. In those pictures and faces, he may begin to see the reflection of his own (new, awful) experiences...
January 15th, 2018 at 10:17 PM ^
Pictures of his victims' fathers would work.
January 15th, 2018 at 6:15 PM ^
fucking hate this guy. I don't use that word often.
January 15th, 2018 at 6:21 PM ^
Here’s to hoping he gets hate fucked in prison!
January 16th, 2018 at 10:36 AM ^
but no.
I despise what the guy did. But part of the problem is that we have too much sexual victimization in our culture. Part of the cure is not hoping this guy gets prison raped, which is just more sexual victimization.
I hope he serves his time. I hope it sucks enough that his conscience is pricked enough that he realizes the enormity of his crime and does whatever he can to do good from here on out.

This is far from over and its going to take that PSU turn as more is brought to light there will be some resignations

Not only does MSU refuse to admit that they did anything wrong, but now they're trying to use a loophole to get all of the lawsuits tossed.
January 15th, 2018 at 7:59 PM ^
From the article:
The university has asked for the dismissal of lawsuits by Nassar's accusers, contending that as a government entity it has immunity and also arguing that anyone who received complaints over the years was not Nassar's supervisor and thus not the right person to take action.
"They don't deny that four young women had complained in graphic detail about Larry's procedure," Denhollander said. "What they say is they didn't complain to the proper people."

What will it take for this to be a major national story? Biles is a top three all time gymnastics star.

Unfortunately, girls being molested isn't as good of a headline as boys being molested. The perception of grown men touching little boys is reprehensible and unforgiveable and the public reaction is complete outrage. For whatever reason, the public reaction to grown men touching little girls is just never as strong. It's truly a shame.

As a very fortunate dad with the ability to take my kid to the playground on most days during the workday, (if I plan ahead), you would be surprised at how often other parents will literally leave the playground when we show up, or at a minimum really try to avoid eye contact with me. I hear "come on tommie time to go" "but we just got here mommy" all the time. It's not our clothes either, i'm usually overdressed.
If I take my kid to the playground on a weekend, I get the same mom and she's chatty mcchattie even if I haven't shaved in a few days,"oh your daughter is so cute, how old is she, how long have you been in the neighborhood, do you work at the university, etc etc".

but I respectfully don't agree. The idea of a man doing something to my daughter, my sister, my wife, especially when they were a little fills me with rage. Same with my son.
There should be no victimization, period.
I read about Mckayla Maroney and I feel that her future and present as a healthy, amazingly successful adult have been utterly stolen from her. Someone used her like a porn doll practically, when she was very vulnerable. And it infurates me. I'd feel no better or worse if it was discovered that Jake Butt had been taken advantage of in Pop Warner.

We don't mean individually. Most people would react the same way as you on an individual scale. We're saying that the public outcry typically isn't the same as if it were boys.
January 15th, 2018 at 6:38 PM ^
ESPN is covering it tomorrow I believe, 60 minutes already has so have all the major network news. I think it speaks of how irrelevant MSU is if this was Texas, Michigan, USC, OSU or like PSU it would have been a bigger story
January 15th, 2018 at 7:51 PM ^
Not sure what more is expected - there are other news stories out there too and Nassar can't consistently be the #1 story. There's only so much "news bandwidth" out there (and Washington DC has used more of that bandwidth than normal the past year).
But it's been the #1 story a non-zero amount of times.
Most importantly - even if it was NOT a major news story - it would still be the case that the appropriate parties are either in the crosshairs or moving into them.
January 15th, 2018 at 10:17 PM ^
a bigger national story is the LSJ, Detroit News and Detroit Free Press, along with the local television stations basically laid down on the story and reported it as if it were just a minor thing for a long long time. Refusing to ask the deeper questions of who knew and how long. Nearly everything the public learned about this case came from court proceedings, MSU wasn't forthcoming with anything and the press did very little to push the story.

I am getting tired of this board celebrating every time a new victim comes forward or new details of this scumbag's antics comes to light.
If you're taking some perverse satisfaction in the fact he happened to be in East Lansing and associated with Little Brother, you can go to hell.

but I don't think the OP was one. As far as the extent of the damage, we need to know.
January 16th, 2018 at 10:24 AM ^
I'll be honest and worry about it in all programs. I take zero pleasure in the fact that it happened to a rival. I wish it had never happened.
The idea of my child's innocence being taken, having her helpless and feeling abandoned while I was unknowing, is one of the darkets, worst fears of my life. My kids are my life and I want them to grow up healthy and to be good, responsible, merciful, considerate individuals. And a monster like this taking advantage of them.... I deliberately don't think about it because it would blow a mental fuse.
At the same time I have to avoid th lizard brain response (Afghan prison sentence!). He deserves to be punished to the highest extent of the law, but no more.
I hate this story. I hate the things the man did. I despise that these young ladies got victimized, and that they and their parents were ignored.
We need to do better as a society. And I hope and pray that if I'm ever in that situation where I see something like that happen I stand up no matter what.
January 16th, 2018 at 10:31 AM ^
This guy is going to get what he deserves, but why would any parent drop off their kid at a man's apartment? I have three children and can't imagine ever doing such a thing. We were probably too paranoid, but were convinced there were creeps like this lurking around every corner.
