Michigan Rumors Summary Video

Submitted by MichiganSports3 on

So with all of the information that is being thrown around various social media platforms, I thought I'd share this video that addresses the current coaching carousel at UM. It matches up pretty well with the information that is being discussed on the premium UM forums (247/Scout and Rivals). Hope this helps everyone organize this mess.

EDIT, Link Taken Down*** I apologize. I did not know that we banned ChatSports videos. Just recently became active again on MGoBlog. I just saw that the video information (regarding Enos, Frey, Partridge, etc) matched up with the other forums. Sorry everyone, please don't kill me.

That was Rick Leach's freshman season when he ran the ball more in the option attack. Later Bo found that Rick could pass.  A QB who can throw more than 20 yards down field and complete these passes will dramatically improve our historically low passing yards. It will also help our running game. Hard to run when the other team puts 9 up at the LOS.

This is complete 100% easily refutable bullshit.

Total passing yards 2017: 2226

Just picking years at random from UM's football stats archive:

Total passing yards 1990: 2015

Total passing yards 2008: 1718

Total passing yards 1989: 1933

I'm not disputing that our passing game was miserable this year, but with an easily accessible stats database to refer to, there's no excuse for spreading stuff that's wrong.

Only information missing is the potential hiring of current Cinci D-Line coach Al Washington (who has experience as a RB coach). The millennial in me checked who he’s following on Twitter and it’s the UM staff plus Urban Meyer for whatever reason. And lastly, what perhaps worries me most, is the info that Alabama is trying to hire Chris Partridge (likely due to his great recruiting skills).

The whole boycotting thing is so lame and pathetic. I can't (and won't) keep track of everything and everyone with whom I'm supposed to be angry. If people want to get angry at a link someone posts, then someone needs to create a comprehensive list of everyone we are boycotting and why. Maybe actually seeing the list will drive home how absurd it is.

People post shit rumormill news sites all over this website all the time and it's perfectly fine unless it's some specific set of sites that have somehow sleighted the mgoblog-base in some imaginary way.

Meanwhile, we've got stimulating and well thought out board posts such as; Low hanging fruit - a thread equating JH firing the S&C coach as going after the low hanging fruit, A Modest Attempt At Perspective - A snowflake thread where a guy tells us all to chill out, and OT: TV Ted Washington? - a super sweet 2 sentence long thread bitching about espn goofing up a fact.

libelous BS in the past. I'm talking totally fabricated stories that they present as fact. Like would a former Michigan player not only grant an inside scoop interview to a no-name 16 year old "journalist" but also detail program, coach, and player reputation damning information to him? Its outlandish bullshit like that that has gotten them banned from this site. Throwing out rumors is one thing, but they have completely crossed the line and have zero ethics in some of the "stories" that they have done. They care about only one thing, getting clicks, and will do anything to get it.

Don Brown is going to radically alter the way defense is played in college football.  The best part is, they don't count against our scholarship limit!  Hudl?  Hudl.

I think al Washington would come in to assist greg mattison with the d line and then do special teams. Maybe he can replace greg when he hangs it up since he can learn from him and he's worked with don brown before. And Enos has to just be WR coach. Arkansas offense wasn't that good so I can't imagine harbaugh having him call plays over pep who he trusts. Maybe help ST as well. That leaves RB and still the 10th coach. Roman will bring a strong run game and he's more creative than anyone we've had under harbaugh. Just at times with leads he's conservative and it lost a couple game in SF. But I hope we hear something soon about the shake up. This is taking over my life

I see Kurt Anderson's name poppping up a lot. A possible O line guy, I guess.

So far all the names being thrown around, Greg Roman, Kurt Anderson, Al Washington, and Dan Enos, none would be consensus home runs. At least in the eyes of the fan message boards.

Also, Chris Balas is reporting that the entire offensive staff will be turning over, FWIW. I think that is a paywalled article but various places on the internet are summarizing it. Which is why I don't pay for any "insider" info because it is readily available within a few seconds for free.

EDIT: looks like Al Washington is a done deal as a RB coach possibly.
