Shea Patterson to visit Dec 9

There may be others receiving hype, though, who are also breathing QBs. Might be a tossup. Or they trade away future draft picks to select multiple QBs in the first round.

A first round lock would be a cannon-armed 6'4" pocket passer with some mobility. That's not really him, but he's a great talent and could be the next Johnny Manziel (but a little taller and hopefully better off-field judgment). He's got a long ways to go before he gets NFL hype. Tons of potential, no doubt.

Can he bring Greg Little on the visit with him? An eligible Greg Little could be a more important get than Patterson.

He doesn't plan on staying long enough to get his degree.

Hasn't he already been at Miss for 3 years? And his play style doesn't really scream NFL to me.

I don't know what QB style suits the NFL anymore, to be honest. It looks like if you're really talented someone will take a chance with you, regardless. And if not, Cleveland will draft you early anyway.

I hope he gets his eligibility ruling well before it is known Michigan is where he wants to go. Else, someone will screw Michigan.

Need to have a solid back up and third string QB if you're Michigan.

Adding another elite QB recruit to the mix only strengthens are team and raises the bar in the competition. Just like anyone else on here, I don't care who's name is on the jersey for the starting QB as long as we have a high level of play.

Does he have other visits planned?

Because nothing would make me feel better about our QB development than taking the guy that we passed on in the 2016 class to get Peters.

Harbaugh didn't pass, he just didn't offer cash.

We didn't pass on Patterson if that is what you are saying. We would have taken him in a heartbeat. He was the #1 recruit in that class.

@BillisKing Have you discussed Shea Patterson and Greg Little rumors on visiting Michigan this weekend
— Vince Lloyd (@Maize_AndBlue) December 4, 2017
Patterson liked this tweet. Michigan vs. UCLA basketball game this weekend too.

Brian said it's Patterson and leading Sophomore WR Brown. Can you confirm? Brian also states there is "nothing to indicate Little's interest in Michigan"
December 4th, 2017 at 2:45 PM ^
Getting him and Little would be such a fucking coup holy shit

If you stay on the blog long enough, you are going to hear a lot of crazier things than that for sure.
We are fielding a football team, not a dodge ball mixer.
Of course we want him.

If memory serves me, he was committed to Ole Miss just prior to his senior year at IMG so we weren't a big player to begin with. In fact, he was originially committed to Arizona but played high school for a couple years in Shreveport. Everyone thought he would end up at LSU. Was recruited pretty heavily by them.

Sam's normal upbeat optimism was replaced by a somewhat pessimistic tone when he referenced his sources on Reese now implying MIchigan has an uphill climb to retain him. I think there's more info on the premium board, but I expect there will be a separate thread about this before too long. We're not giving up by any stretch; Michigan coaching staff members have already and/or will be attending Otis's remaining games.
It's disappointing, but it's not too surprising to me, given how our season has gone in contrast to our main competition for him, which I would guess is Alabama and Georgia.

Good thing he is from Toledo, because it is going to be cold on Saturday.

if it doesn't imbed, simply copy and paste to browser. You will note the offers and where it lists Michigan, it is easy to see an offer was extended. Now can we, at minimum, end this kind of talk.

A bad thing. Hope he enjoys his stay in Ann Arbor.

I'm a pretty firm believer that Patterson is going to come for one year and one year only. He knows he has a chance to be a first rounder if he plays well (assuming he is ruled eligible which I have reservations about). An uber talented player that is going to be on a very good team with the extra motivation to perform to improve his draft stock. I'll take that all day long. Plus Ace had tweeted out earlier that the plan for Peters all along was to take over in 2019 so this falls right in line with that timeline as well.
And not that it means anything because of how early it is but Walter Football has been projecting him to be a top 10 pick in the 2019 draft for awhile now.
