For your reading pleasure.

Some interesting notes on:

  • Minnesota's defensive performance despite numerous injuries
  • Surprisingly strong secondary performance despite injuries.
  • Top Gopher wide receiver Tyler Johnson's YTD performance
  • Comments about the Gophers' stable of impressive running backs, Rod Smith, Shannon Brooks, Kobe McCrary.
  • Comments about rising star LB Thomas Barber (yes, that famous Barber family of athletes - Marion Barber, Marion Barber III, Dom Barber).

Also, Minnesota@Iowa Depth Chart here.

Looks like a lot of Minnesota players remain questionable for game @ Michigan this Saturday.

This will keep opposing Ds from stacking the line. I see another big day for our RBs. I think the current OL is beginning gel and are learning their zone blocking scheme. I see a 31-17 type win for Michigan. Even some of my OSU friends are beginning to worry about Michigan's running game.

Fleck ran his mouth after the MSU game. Didn’t seem too smart to me then and now he’ll have to own up to it. Hopefully the team is motivated Saturday night. This is the first step in solving our problems to end the season. Win a night game again. The next step will be beat a ranked team on the road. The final step, beat...

I love that this is a night game and a big ten game. It has the feel of importance to it (which it is) and it's a great 2nd game for BP being a night game, a big game, yet still playing in the confines of the big house. If you ask me really couldn't ask for a better 3 games to get up to speed. Home day game against an "ok" defense but poor overall team, home night game against a decent team and a big ten game, and away game against an "ok" team but a day game an in atmoshere that won't be crazy right before you kick off two giant games. Really is a perfect progression of difficulty for a new QB.

Clearly, by the time we get to discussion Barbers and their history at Minnesota, we've run out of actual discussion points and have settled on a summary of the name "Barber" as it relates to Minnesota football. It was almost as if the author was trying to make something out of....not as much of something.

1.  Minnesota has no quarterback, nor even a hope that either one could rise up.  Just don't have one.

2.  Winfield Jr. is their best defensive player.  If he is still out, Peters should be fine.
