You got it. It's also causing pain that is at times unbearable, which is what brought me in in the first place. It was little awkward talking to my 30-something female doctor about it, asking her to feel up my scrotum because of "pain," and wondering if she was going back to her colleagues to tell them about the perv patient she had. As weird as it sounds it was a bit of a relief to know something was actually wrong with me. Lol. Thanks btw. That is reassuring to hear.

I still get achy occasionally, sometimes up to about a 5 on a scale of 1-10.. but it's pretty infrequent and doesn't last more than a few minutes when it comes around. I definitely know what you mean about relief that you're not having unexplainable pain. FWIW, I played a lot of Madden (on N64!) when I had mine done... video games are a good way to pass the time. Whenever I end up going under anesthesia, I try to stay awake as long as possible because it's an incredible feeling... luckily I'm not an addict, but I accept that little high as a sliver of "nice" amidst a bummer of a situation... same with the subsequent Vicodin, but only for a few days until I start feeling like shit and my colon stops moving product as efficiently as I prefer. Sorry for making it all about me.. Good luck, brother! You'll be fine. Enjoy the time off and the little bit of pampering from the lady.

By choosing the specific adjective "smooth", I have to wonder if Black reads MGoBlog or, at a minimum, noticed the same repeating theme in his recrutiing profile that the crew here did.  Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I like to hope it's a nodding wink to the running joke/theme

Wish him a quick and successful recovery.  I do wonder if he comes back this year if the team is in contention; I used to assume foot injuries were season-enders, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Anybody know for sure what the injury was? Jones fracture is pretty common in explosive athletes, and generally requires immediate surgery for otherwise young & healthy people. If so, 4-6 weeks for bone to heal, another ~2-3 weeks for surrounding tissues to get back to playing condition. As others have already said, a medical redshirt would be rediculous... if he can help you beat OSU in 2017, he plays as soon as he's ready.

However, last Sunday the Carolina Panthers all-pro tight end Greg Olsen broke the fifth metarsal  in his right foot and was placed on IR. He had surgery Monday with a screw inserted to repair the fracture.

The team's athletic trainer called the injury a "Jones fracture" (I have no clue why), and the injury will result in Olsen missing his first sustained time from the game since he entered the NFL 11 years ago. In fact, he's never missed a game due to injury to this point.

By putting him on IR, the Panthers will be without his services for at least 8 games which I suspect is about the length of time Michigan would be projecting the soonest return of Black from his injury, though the nature of it was never reported and our coach projected a rather guarded comment about his possible return this season.

I would think that a college freshman might be a quicker healer than a 30-something NFL veteran. But I guess that depends on a variety of unkowns, so no point in speculating.

Two things. 1.) during the press conf Harbaugh starts to say metatarsal and goes with "outside of his foot" or something like thatt. Almost for sure TB has a fracture at the base of the 5th metatarsal. 2.) with uneventful surgery he can be running on it in 8 weeks. I think that puts us soemwheres near MN or UW in mid Nov. Considering the fact that he has looked like our best WR I expect him to play this season. +1 for smoothly.

He probably got a few pins inserted to heal the fracture. It may heal as early as 6 weeks. Something the team physician will have to monitor during his rehab. So, Tarik could be back by early November.

Injury updates, puppy pictures, Curb references, ball surgery... ...and grammar fistfights. Basically a South Quad tv lounge. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Black and DPJ will be a superstars...curious though, why doesnt Moe Ways get more action? Seems like a big and physical receiver that our offense lacks. I thought he would emerge as a go-to guy with the departure of Darboh and Chesson, especially in this talented but young receiver group..anyone?
