Nervous to see how the offense performs against Purdue without Black but its nice to see at least his recovery is heading in a good direction

??? The old snip and suture, or something more serious and less elective?

It's gonna take me about five minutes to unclench my sphincter after reading about your injury. Just the idea of it, y'know?
Although I gotta admit - you got an awesome story for cocktail parties.

Hope he's back for the OSU game, but I'll settle for the CFP

By choosing the specific adjective "smooth", I have to wonder if Black reads MGoBlog or, at a minimum, noticed the same repeating theme in his recrutiing profile that the crew here did. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I like to hope it's a nodding wink to the running joke/theme

Wish him a quick and successful recovery. I do wonder if he comes back this year if the team is in contention; I used to assume foot injuries were season-enders, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

However, last Sunday the Carolina Panthers all-pro tight end Greg Olsen broke the fifth metarsal in his right foot and was placed on IR. He had surgery Monday with a screw inserted to repair the fracture.
The team's athletic trainer called the injury a "Jones fracture" (I have no clue why), and the injury will result in Olsen missing his first sustained time from the game since he entered the NFL 11 years ago. In fact, he's never missed a game due to injury to this point.
By putting him on IR, the Panthers will be without his services for at least 8 games which I suspect is about the length of time Michigan would be projecting the soonest return of Black from his injury, though the nature of it was never reported and our coach projected a rather guarded comment about his possible return this season.
I would think that a college freshman might be a quicker healer than a 30-something NFL veteran. But I guess that depends on a variety of unkowns, so no point in speculating.

Between Caris and Kevin Durant's experiences, I would rather be extra carefull with Tarik. Whatver the rcommended time add a week or 2 to it, just to make sure he doesn't develop some re-occuring problem.

He probably got a few pins inserted to heal the fracture. It may heal as early as 6 weeks. Something the team physician will have to monitor during his rehab. So, Tarik could be back by early November.
