Michigan up to 7th in both Coaches Poll and AP Poll

Coaches Poll: http://sportspolls.usatoday.com/ncaa/football/polls/coaches-poll/

Clemson is 2nd over Oklahoma by exactly one point. Also of interest is Penn State falling to 5th, Ohio State falling to 9th, and Wisconsin falling to 12th. Based on the "Others Receiving Votes" Maryland is 31st, one spot ahead of Notre Dame.

AP Poll: http://collegefootball.ap.org/poll

The AP has Oklahoma solidly in 2nd over Clemson. Penn State is 5th, while Ohio State only fell to 8th, and Wisconsin only fell to 10th.

I figured out why Chesson had a worse season - he didn't fully recover from his injury. I haven't figured out why Darboh was dropping passes he should catch and not getting the separation he got on his routes the year before. Can you explain the drops?

That's the thing... I am not a Speight hater. I really like his ability to extend plays, make solid decisions and his willingness to throw the deep ball. But God damn, if he could just increase his accuracy on 8-17 yard throws. Those are the gimme passes that good playcalling sets up and it's so frustrating to watch great routes and plays go to waste.

I don't think they've *forgotten* as much as there are higher expectations. During Hoke, people would have traded a nut for consistent 9-win seasons. Now expectations are being calibrated against, "Is this team good enough to win the B1G/playoffs?" That might just be an unrealistic expectation, but I like that in just two years, that's where we are. Will I consider a 9 win season failure? Hell no. But if I'm being critical at all, I'm only basing it against whether we're "playoff caliber" or not. Even if we're not, that doesn't make this a bad team.

7. Michigan (Speight took only 1 sack yesterday, versus taking 5 sacks against Florida). 58.6% completion ratio vs. 44%. I'll take the fumbles over the picks (I think the former is more easily corrected). I'm looking for the positives this morning. And maybe Cincinnati isn't much worse than Florida.
