Strawman
I didn't say YPG, I said yards. Not average yards, yards thrown for.
Top-5 at Michigan behind Henne, Navarre, Grbac and Gardner.
I was told "he couldn't throw".
there is a reason that the term Arm Punt was coined during DR's time at Michigan.
To an extent, yes. But he also made some incredible throws.
but anybody that says his best position was QB is dreaming..And anybody that says he was an accurate passer doesn't watch much football. The kid had heart, and hit some deep bombs, but he missed wide open recievers his entire career, had zero touch, and could barely pass out of the spread...having said he sucked as a passer, he stepped into the role to help the team, and he did his best.
While I agree to extant, I think he's better that what you're giving him credit for. Just E-pinion.
Drew Henson career: 374 attempts. 214 completions, 13.8 ypc, 57.2%
Denard Robinson career: 747 attempts, 427 completions, 14.6 ypc, 57.2%
But the two were throwing very different passes, in very different offenses.
than those three? If so, further debate with you is meaningless.
Joins the board as soon as a thread mentioning Forcier pops up and then knocks Denard.
Hmmmm...
Stop being a bully. This is what caused so many problems in the first place.
Ah, hello banned user.
Nice account name.
what their avatar names used to be, and why are they misbehaving?
I don't know, but GnuBlue is a pretty distinctive writer. Should be easy to identify. Complete sentences and all that. Seems to have a thing for Tate (2009) but I don't get the Speight (2016) hate.
But his core argument here, that if Rodriguez had made Denard a running back and kept Tate at QB in 2010 then Harbaugh would never have come to Michigan, is pointless because Tate didn't leave Michigan because of football -- he flunked out during the 2010 season -- nothing is going to change that. He never played college football again, because he couldn't qualify academically.
The only thing we can really be 100% sure about is that GnuBlue is not Tate. He writes far too well.
Let it go, man. He was a great Michigan player, but not a natural qb, but he was the best qb we had at the time by far.
Career passing yards is a stupid way to compare players. Passing continues to go up in football. When Harbaugh played, the passing game wasn't featured like it is now. Tom Brady was only a starter for two seasons plus split some of that time with Drew Henson and Brian Griese started only 22 games at Michigan. But hey compare him to three Pro-Bowl quarterbacks...
He pretty much behaved at Michigan...didn't have the wheels come off until after his knee injury, and after he left Michigan...dead on though, some people are born with God given talent and just can't keep it together...to paraphrase Crash Davis..."a million dollar arm, and a 2 cent head".
You don't need a Blaupunkt, you need a curveball.
He's running McMaryJane's Dispensary
If I recall, Tate was a former Heisman** winner so I'd give him a chance as a coach.

Spouting the Sparty company line. Your moniker is a lie.
Glad to see somebody appreciate's talent.
Denard could have led us to two wins over OSU (technically only one as QB) if Hoke didn't decide to just stop using him after halftime.
Can I at least see the gif of Tate splitting the ND defense for a TD??? Love that play.
Can't find it in GIF form.
It is readily available on YouTube thought.
Seeing Wilton do such a move would bring the Big house down.
Didn't work out for us, but glad to see him doing well in QB coaching. Sounds like he's pulled himself together after a rough time in college.
Congratulations to Tate for potentially turning his life around and hopefully learning from his mistakes and being able to steer others away from making them.
I'm not a christian but for those of you who are, perhaps let thou who has not sinned cast the first stone.
rolled away from potential sacks like a boss last year. We lost to Iowa because Whatshisface gutted us for 6yds a pop. The OT TD against OSU was ice. He was also hurt. IMO, he never looked nervous in close-ups. To me, he looked like he wanted to be there. Like he knew what he was doing. With him in charge, we were a centimeter from Final Four.
