This really goes back to the problem in college basketball. Thad Matta was getting top classes early in his career and he was winning big ten titles and getting to final fours. Once the talent took a slight dip after Aaron crafts class, the team has been in a free fall and they've reached their lowest point. When people criticize Beilein I think u have to look at the bigger picture. Talent wise OSU and Michigan are relatively on the same level. Yet Beilein is still getting more out of his teams than Matta. Unfortunately Beilein can't recruit to save his life. But when he gets talent he gets the most out of his players. I think wayy too many coaches are given credit for being good coachs when in reality they are just good "recruiters" and average coaches. Thad Matta is one of many examples

Beilein hasn't been effective recruiting the one-and-done types, even top fifty, but Walton, Wagner, Irvin (an actual top fifty guy), Wilson and Simpson are not the stuff of a guy who can't recruit to save his life. They were all 4* at 247.

It was a great game to be at. The Rutgers band was singing the Victors when an Ohio guy was at the line except they didn't know the words. Only negative was the Michigan baby lost the baby crawl at halftime.

So I guess nobody realizes we now have a 100+ loss because of this... love seeing OSU loss but sucks that it will hurt our seeding

OSU's current RPI is 87.  Their number may flucuate by a few spots over the next several days but it's not going to drop by 13.

OTOH, Nebraska's loss to PSU dropped them from the high 90s to 103, removing two top-100 wins from Michigan's resume.  Feel free to get mad about that.

I agree. Started out as an amazing recruiter but has died down significantly. I have wondered if Calipari turning Kentucky into One and Done U has any effect on this. I know Roy Williams at UNC has consciously gone after guys who will stay 2-4 years ever since Coach Cal took over at Kentucky.

Remember when people used to talk about Beilein being on a hotter seat than Matta?  Ah, those were the weeks ago...

It amazes me that OSU is basically one year of D'Angelo Russell from not going to the tourney for 3 straight years (that 2015 team was barely .500 without him).  I know guys lose their fastball, but usually they don't just drop off the map.

I don't or won't even try to say I know anything about BBall, but at the beginning of the season I thought I heard the "talking heads" say they had a talented roster. What gives? Must have heard they had a no talent roster.
