Who's living in the past now?

Izzo: "U-M's seniors have lost 4-5 times to us, and they played with incredible passion that we didn't match"

— Minh Doan (@_minhdoan) February 8, 2017

Izzo says he's not making excuses ... but, 'that was seniors against freshmen.'

— Nick Baumgardner (@nickbaumgardner) February 8, 2017

Irvin, the other senior, had a whopping 3 points. Bzzzt.

Izzo says his freshmen (Winston, Ward, Langford) didn't understand the seriousness of the game

— Minh Doan (@_minhdoan) February 8, 2017

Ward is from Columbus and Winston is from Detroit.

Izzo says MSU had a great week of practice, didn't show up on court.

BONUS FEATURE: Jemele Hill's tweets from after Michigan handed MSU a loss on the gridiron back in October.

Can you imagine the backlash Beilein would get if he had 4 top 50 recruits in a single class (with two 5 stars) and then blamed them for being 14-10 after losing to MSU by 30? Edit: I forgot to mention that a McDonald's All American would have also just left after his freshman year that he didn't play much in, probably being one of the reasons he left, and got drafted at the beginning of the 2nd round

I can't imagine Beilein ever getting 4 top 50 recruits. . .

The reason there's no backlash against Izzo is that he wins about 10% more of his games. . .

What I will be interested to see is if our wimpy coach takes exception to what Izzo had to say about Wagner. . .

Someone needs to make a scrapbook of all the times that he's prefaced an excuse by saying that he's not making excuses. It seems like nearly every loss.

The first quote is awful. These are young men and this is what he says? What a scumbag. Not a good character guy. Own up the mistakes. Don't put this on other teams' players.

chance to point out that our seniors have lost 5 against them, I don't see how he didn't own up to it.  Complimented the passion with which our players played and acknowledged his didn't match it.  I don't really see what's wrong with that.  Beilein has said on multiple occasions this year that at some point, players have to play hard, rightly calling them out for not playing hard enough.

Tweet from BQuinn: On Ward's trip, Izzo says it was unacceptable, but adds, "Wagner is also a pain in the butt, let's not kid ourselves." Christ, this guy is an ass.

The worst-selling novel, by MSU head coach Tom Izzo!

  • Jemele Hill calls it "SPARTYRIFIC!"
  • Drew Sharp has come back to say "It's so much better than any book Jim Harbaugh could've written."
  • RCMB gives it 5 burned couches out of 5!

college basketball should be.  He gets the most out of his players and they always come ready to battle.  His teams alwys peak by March and he never makes excuses.  He is  leader of men and a man of great character.  110% is what you are guaranteed to get anytime you face his Spartans.  He does things the right way, and has never taken short cuts.  Just a class act and everything you would want in a head coach, someone you would want your son to play for.

Did I miss anthing guys?  Don't want to f-up one of the most absurdly alternative fact based narratives in modern collegiate sports.

#1 on that list, of course, is Joe Pa didn't know...but that of course got me my -9999999999 points, so I digress.

Lets see Kentucky and Duke don't have problems beating senior led teams with freshman. GTFO. Cry me a river. Enjoy the trip back to EL. Got 29 reason it won't be a good one

Watching him lose and absolutely self destruct on his team and himself is always a beautiful sight. Was at the game tonight, and the energy in Crisler was pretty awesome in the first half, the best I've seen it all season. That was the best basketball I've seen Michigan play since the 2013-2014 season. Walton has played like the senior PG that he is, and it was finally contagious tonight. Xavier looked much more comfortable with the Offense tonight, and Moe and DJ will keep getting better. Heres to winning at least 4 out of the next 7 to get in the tourney.

ALSO: What is this I'm hearing about some form of allegations made on the MSU Football program tommorow? News of Recshke, Lukusa, and maybe now LJ Scott (Name removed from MSU directory)? Can anybody shed some light on this?

I would love if espn had a camera on izzo the entire game and played it on espn U with out izzo knowing. That would be more fun than the actual game

The best part of going to the Michigan Football game at Spartan Stadium, after a Wolverine victory, was walking by Breslin and almost literally running into a dejected Izzo. My children and I were elated and happy, needless to say, Tommy was not. To his credit, he tried to be gracious and was for the most part, but I could tell he was hating it.
