DL should be fine. A little thin but the reality is not many teams are able to go 9 deep like we were this past year. We just need a few freshmen or sophomores who can provide a few plays to give our first string a blow.

Why are we annointing next year's Dline to be the best in the conference already? All but Hurst played spot duty, especially the second half of the season. Winnovich was alright, but only on passing downs, what happens when he has to hold up to 60 minutes of run blocking? Mone seems talented but I only saw 2 or 3 plays where he did something this year, i know he was injured but still...Gary has all the tools, I'm sure he will put it together next year. And Hurst, not a single negative to say about him, I think he is proven and will have a great year. Lets not even think about what ONE single injury would do to this unit...not as deep as last year and guys will not be rotating and staying freshThe 3 other guys played their role well this year but their role and responsibilities will change a lot next year. Lets just wait and see how it all plays out.

Because Hurst was one of our best DL last year, Gary was a freshman and was very good despite not generating many TFLs and sacks. He didn't play much and was held constantly with no calls. Mone generally got better as he got more healthy and had a pretty good Ohio State game. Winovich also got better at maintaining gap integrity and is already good on passing downs. Injuries can change any position from good to bad. I'm confident that we can get some of the sophomores and freshmen to fill in on the 2nd string. It's a lot more scary to think about freshmen and sophomores starting on our OL than just providing a few blows for guys like Hurst and Gary to be off the field for a play or two.

How many college football teams boast about their backup D-Line? This year was an anomaly regarding how deep our D-Line was and even then in a lot of the more competitive games, we shortened the rotation and the backups weren't interchanging a lot because we didn't need too.

Starters will be fine and then you only need 1-2 more good contributors to emerge for us to be fine in that regard. We should be able to get that from C Kemp, R Jones, R Johnson, L Marshall, M Dwumfour or freshman (especially if it is Soloman/Tufele).

When competent coaching exists, and they tend to leave when there are problems or bad coaching. That's pretty much what it comes down to.

That is big for next year. He, Gary, Mone and Winovich(?) should provide a very good to great starting unit. But we're going to need some guys behind them to develop quickly, because production after those guys is relatively thin.

Next year is probably a now or never kind of year for Marshall.

This is great news. Besides Charlton I think he may have been our second best lineman. He was certainly the most explosive into the backfield. If Gary and Mone live up to the hype, we will again be quite good.

people complaining the backups are inexperiences - they may be, but they are freaking talented too

only NT depth is a concern

the rest?

DT - Hurst, Hudson, Paea

SDE - Gary, S. Johnson, Jeter, DIB

WDE - Winovich, Kemp, R. Johnson, CMH, Vilain

tbh, Winovich might struggle to hang onto the starting job

Only 17 years old and he is already 6'5" 280 pounds and athletic. He is a consensus 4* and  # 13 SDE in the nation and played for state chmpionships in Ohio against great competition. I think he can contribute early and will be very good in the years to come.  Paea is an early enrollee and will get Mattisonized for a few extra months before next season.
