Najee Harris May Become A Reality
Per his Twitter, Gregg with two G's is calling Harris to M. I hope he's right! https://twitter.com/GreggHenson/status/809271405162414081

Ahead and "called" Harbaugh when the winds seemed fully in that direction. Like Brietbart News he has no credibility to risk so when he's wrong there is really no penalty.

They are spread out over the country and it makes it easy to keep up to date.
The constant "SEE, My opinion is right - READ THIS" crap is annoying. I blocked my liberal cousin...

i dind't block my uber conservative cousins posting crap from Breitbart

Funny thing is conservatives are just as much bitchy and whiny as liberals on facebook.
And it's even more agonizing since they don't believe in facts anymore with their boy Trump in the White House.
Liberals just exaggerate known shit, so it's more easy to deal with.

No, he was one of the first to suggest Harbaugh was a real possibility. In fact, a lot of people here were dismissing the idea at the time because Henson was suggesting it.
December 15th, 2016 at 9:10 AM ^
And I think it does... Henson "called" the hire a couple days before it actually happened. This was in the midst of MGoBlog fully in the throes of IT'S HAPPENING and every indicator outside of NFL writers seeming to point to the hire. I truly doubt that Henson had more to go on to make this call than Brian or Sam or Wojo. The difference is Henson doesn't have anything on the line if he's wrong.
December 15th, 2016 at 9:27 AM ^
I don't remember when he specifically "called" it but he was floating the possibly of Harbaugh coming here well in advance. There was a point where people were asking, "Does anyone have any non-Henson sources on Harbaugh?"
I don't know if he has a source for recruiting but he definitely had one for Harbaugh. People have suggested that he may know one of the Regents.
December 15th, 2016 at 9:21 AM ^
FWIW, here is a link describing what Henson was hearing from his sources, admitting, that even he did not know anything outside of what he was hearing. This is a blog entry dated December 1st, 2014. Quite a bit ahead of a "day or two" before Harbaugh was hired. So, again, I can't defend the guy for everything he has done, but he really was the first one to nail it. I think because of the incident that got him fired from the Detroit sports market (a long time ago), people are less likely to view him as a reputable source. That doesn't mean what he is saying isn't true (or that he doesn't have connections, he's been around a long time) and any professional that puts a stamp on anything has something to lose.

but I think some of it was that he was so, so far out in front on some things - reporting things nobody else was - that people were sure he was BS'ing for clicks. I think in retrospect he's right on just about everything. Can anyone find rumors of his that didn't pan out?
December 15th, 2016 at 12:17 PM ^
are correct that he predicted Rosen and Little to M, then there are examples. I'm sure there are others.
Even a broken clock is correct twice a day, right? And hopefully this is one of those times.
December 15th, 2016 at 1:11 PM ^
Henson that had nothing to do with Michigan. People on here found them offensive. It's unrelated to his track record of predictions. I never bothered to read his non-Harbaugh posts. I was already not a fan from his days on the radio in Detroit.
December 15th, 2016 at 3:09 PM ^
Even before that he was talking about Harbaugh. Here's a link from October 31:

dude,
give it up. He implied there was mutual interest, and that there was an initiative to get him here, according to his sources way before anyone had aything concrete.
He was right. He got a lot of shit about it then, but credit to him.
As for Rosen, I can think of more egregious misses. Supposedly we were his #2 choice, and we made a big push for him.
December 15th, 2016 at 10:58 AM ^
I think they are, in fact, too high up to be a great source for recruiting info. No doubt he hears something from the Michigan side, but his recruiting sources pale in comparison to Webb and Lorenz.
December 15th, 2016 at 11:52 AM ^
Not even close to factual. You just making things up? He called it when Harbaugh was still a distant pipe dream and anyone who thought otherwise was called hopelessly naive or foolish. I read all his articles and wondered how he was so sure. I still don't know. But he was right.
December 15th, 2016 at 9:19 AM ^
He seems to be similar to Valenti in that regard.
But he also seems to have a pretty good source. I didn't say "good sources" like plural, I think he just has one good one. Any body that challenges his opinion on his show or twitter, is simply referenced as a "douchebag"......so yeah, he does lack class
December 15th, 2016 at 1:39 AM ^
The guy is a piece of work and I can't stand him, but everything he reported on the Harbaugh pursuit was spot on. He even said Durkin would be on Harbaugh's staff back when every sportswriter was still claiming that there was no chance that Harbaugh would leave the NFL. He must have some pretty solid sources.
December 15th, 2016 at 1:46 AM ^
Gregg Henson steals info (even though he claims he doesn't).
Any coincidence this "report" comes right after Sam Webb's blog?
He's an echo chamber trying to take credit for other people's hard work.
December 15th, 2016 at 7:03 AM ^
been reporting for a while.
Michigan feels confident but he's still a Bama commit. Until he decommits, it's a difficult thing to overcome. I would guess that's why Sam hasn't had a gut feeling yet and why Steve hasn't put in a crystal ball.
But Henson will say he's the first one to call it if he's right and Harris changed his mind at the last minute if he's wrong.
I wish he would go away.
December 15th, 2016 at 7:53 AM ^
If he is taking Sam's info and actually making a statement with it, it's putting Sam in a bad spot.
In order to keep these kids talking to him, Sam has to sometimes play the game. He says he has"a gut feeling", instead of announcing what he really knows.
In the meantime, other guys with a microphone can say openly and plainly - "this kid is committing to Michigan".
December 15th, 2016 at 9:11 AM ^
On this note, I've wondered when recruits are going to catch on that Sam is, in fact, pretty much giving away their announcements with his "gut feelings."

very careful in parsing information. He does not betray confidences until he is certain there is pushing zero downside. His gut feelings are expressed if a recruit has zero problems with that "being out" there or if there is sufficient intrinsic and extrinsic data to make his GF both harmless and unlikely to embarrras himself or others, Gut feeling means it is "very likely" but not 100% certain and there is no harm in such an opinion being public.
Apologies for the double post.

Well it doesn't necessarily need to follow that order over some stint of time. AJ Dillon didn't decommit from Michigan before flipping to BC. There was some chatter and then it just happened. There's been chatter about Harris and Michigan for a while now. It could just happen.

Are you just putting two and two together or do you have legit information that Henson steals info from other sources? Until Sam comes on the air and says Henson is a quack and doesn't know anything other than what he steals, I don't know how you can say that with confidence like you know Henson personally. I can understand that most people think he is a blowhard and don't like him, but I don't think it's right to call his professionalism into question without some sort of proof. Kind of like the whole Dave Brandon before the emails thing.....

Ah, you have stumbled into the classic "Henson Fallacy," named for the aforementioned: one who is well informed in matters of coaching changes is not therefore well informed in matters of recruiting.

...help explain Dillon's switch to BC assuming the word came down. Time will tell as it always does.
December 15th, 2016 at 8:43 AM ^
I think it's pretty common knowledge that Dillon switched because he was told he would have to play LB. Not sure if that would have anything to do with Harris. I don't think the staff would ever tip their hand to another recruit, so I assume Dillon being told to change positions, would have happened no matter what.
