Baron Browning to Columbus

Seemed to have a great time on his visit, but didn't seem like a candidate to join the good guys. Here's hoping Herman flips him to Texas.....

his coaching and growing of 2* and 3* MSU players certainly paid off against much star base talented OSU last year.

Given the built-in constraints of UM vs OSU, the disparity in talent between us and OSU will be there for foreseeable future.

I feel confident that Harbaugh' coaching ability and drive can overcome the talent disparity very soon enough.

Take out the RichRod/Hoke years and it hasn't been that bad. Still bad, but not hopeless. We almost beat them in '13, we DID beat them this year despite the score.. OSU will always be good, just how it is.

Here's how I am going to prove you wrong....

Jim Harbaugh patrols our sidelines, he will bridge the talent gap and get us back to beating OSU. Look at what he's done in his first two classes, and now this class. He's getting elite talent. If he can do what he did at Stanford, he will definitely be able to do it at Michigan. I've said it here before, the key to his Stanford turnaround was the OL play. We do not have championship caliber OL play, yet. It's not something that happens overnight though.

OSU has been an incredibly stable, and successful, program for 25+ years. And Harbaugh has caught back up (basically) by year 2.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very sick of the "next year" talk too.. but given how we played this year (3 turnovers, stalled offense in 4th and the refs against us) and still almost won, I am very optimisitc going forward.

Cool, this sucks. Their class might be the best class ever honestly, in terms of rankings. Although I'm sure some Bama class or that one USC class is up there.

It's the reason I have been saying there needs to be an 8 team playoff. Recruits can go to Ohio State or Alabama and know that they will most likely get to play on the big stage of the College Football Playoff. If there are more teams in that position, recruiting will be slightly more balanced. Not a complete solution but I think it would help a bit.

that week off by finishing in the top two.

Like Bo(Flex) knows, it gives incentive to finish in those top two spots.

It's just my opinion though so I'm not stating facts just sharing my take.

Last I checked, I don't think the committee is listening to anything I have to say though so for the time being we have a four team CFP and it seems to be working as well if not better than the BCS.

visits without letting the staff at Ohio State know about it but like my momma told me, there are three sides to every story so who knows, right?!

I'm sure the majority of the truth will come out in the wash but seems like we should be more worried about who the U of M is recruiting instead of worrying about who UFM is recruiting.

Ohio State is going to out-recruit us -- that's basically a given at this point. The (potential) equalizer for us will be Harbaugh's ability to recruit and develop a star QB. If that doesn't happen, it'll be hard to keep pace.

this year they will (they are out recruiting everyone), but there is no reason to think they will indefinitely. OSU has been having a great run, but a top 3 class is just as good as the #1 class, especially when you consider that we run different schemes. Talent will be comparable in 2 years.

All that said, it still f*cking sucks.

Until late in the Carr years, we consistently outrecruited OSU.  Harbaugh hasn't been on the job 24 months and has already landed one Top-5 class, and this one has the potential to be another Top-5 class.  That's practically a wash IMO when you consider some kids transfer or do not match their star ranking.

Maybe Browning would've committed here if there was an extra year or two of correspondence with the current coaching staff.  This is still a relatively new staff considering a lot of these relationships with top recruits develop over three-four years at least.

To your point, Nick Saban has 21 years of FBS coaching experience. Urban Meyer has 15. Jim Harbaugh just finished his 6th year of FBS football (San Diego was a non-scholarship school so I'm leaving them out) and Stanford isn't exactly a football power like LSU, Florida, Alabama or OSU.

Of course Saban and Meyer will be great at recruiting, they've been doing it a long time (2-3 times longer than JH), have had success virtually everywhere and 7 nation titles between them.

Harbaugh hasn't had the same time at his current program to build up those relationships with recruits as the other two and he's still gonna reel in back to back top 5 programs. And he has things neither of those two have; a successfl NFL playing career and a successful NFL coaching career.

I think Harbaugh is closing the gap much sooner than anyone thought he could. I fully expect Michigan to keep landing top 5 classes as long as Harbaugh is here and looking back we'll be talking about all three of Saban, Meyer and Harbaugh as the greatest recruiters/coaches in their generation.

The line judge that spotted Barrett for a first down.... Is from Michigan and a UM fan. Keep reaching. "If it wasn't for this and that and this and oh yeah, that. And yeah that as well." Here is a hot take: If Michigan had scored more points than Ohio State, they 100% would've won.

being penalized 9 more yards (for a basketball infraction) than the entire OSU football team? So if you are trying to say that the Michigan referee has more class than the rest of the referee's on that field Sat. we could have told you that before the game.
