The perfect angle on “the call”

Submitted by Jamezz23 on

This is the money angle I've been waiting to see... And yes I am still extremely salty... postimage

Well, it's more than one call.  There was an egregious Pass Interference non-call on Michigan's 3rd down in the 2OT.

They call that penalty and Michigan has a first down at the 10 or so.

Those two officiating errors literally cost Michigan the game.

I'm still more upset with: us not scoring touchdowns when getting inside the 5/10. Us not getting any points when we fumble on the two. Peppers not fielding the punt correctly right before the pick six. Us not making it a fourth and 13 instead of 1 at the end of the game. The blatant PI calls not made against OSU.

Than I am with this play/spot.

Call the Big Ten offices at (847) 696-1010 and choose ext 20101 for Jim Delaney.  That will take you to his secretary's voice mail where you can leave a message regarding choosing a non-biased crew, how the fuck ups will send a bad PSU team to the championship game and possibly the playoffs and how the replay absolutely sucks and needs an overhaul.

We lost because of three turnovers that gave them 14 and took away 7 from us. 21 point differential. If it weren't for the spot we'd all be talking about the turnovers.

No- if it weren't for that spot we'd be preparing for an ass kicking of Wisconsin and talking about a national title. We were in position to win throughout the whole game. We did enough to win. We should have won.

One other thing.  The Yelllow line on TV is not official in any way.  It is put there by the TV crews as an approximation.

That corrupt crew did not even bring out the chains to measure.

The whole thing was rigged.

This is so fucking egregious I'm disgusted to my core. We were undeniably fucked consciously or subconsciously (ha) by a tainted officiating crew. To those who say we need to move on - fuck that. That's exactly how corruption and evil perpetuates itself. We need to make the names of these motherfuckers known so that they NEVER officiate again and, I know I'm probably being naive, but maybe feel some level of shame for cheating those players from a fair result, though more likely they'll just be celebrated like heroes amongst the filth of that state. We need to get this publicized any way possible. Twitter, friends in media, whatever. Fuck those "officials" and fuck taking this situation lying down.

More egregious was the way the referee immediately signaled the first down without even bothering to go through the pretense of checking the actual spot..

Someone explain to me how the referee signals a first down, with no measurement, from over 5 yards away, and and NO VIEW OF THE BALL WHATSOEVER:

If that is the point of forward progress before he is down, then that is the right angle, right shot.

From another video clip I saw, it looked like Barret's arm with the ball ran into the butt of #88 and bounced back, losing his grip for a moment and struggles to regain it, but not sure if he was already down at that point.  It he was not down before he started to lose possession,  his forward progress shouldn't matter, as all that would matter is when he was stopped AFTER retaining possession.

This really isn't a money angle anymore than the pics being shown by OSU fans. The problem with this picture is that it's taken after Barrett was already falling backward. Watch videos and you will see at his most forward point, he was more upright. This picture is after he had already had forward progress (wherever that actually was).

He might have made the spot, he might not have. It was EXTREMELY CLOSE either way. But there aren't any angles out there that show conclusively one way or another.

Also, in an image of a truly "perfect angle" the 15 yard line would be perfectly square with the bottom border of the image.

This image is a few degrees off because the vantage point is slightly ahead of the 15, just as many of the other images were behind it. FTR, I think Barrett was short based on all the evidence.

Sadly the play right before this play Samuel was pretty much stopped at the 38-39 yard line then managed to run a million yards to get a 4th and 1 instead of a 4th and 19. If we just contained him they would've been out of FG range to tie.

We were fucked. Just like after the 10-10 tie. Just like the phantom fumble. It seems to be our destiny to be fucked continuously.

I have been a lurker on this forum for about a year. Reading the meltdown on thisnforum pushed me to finally register for the site to respond and give my 2 cents. First off, the call which was made was right like it or not. FORWARD PROGRESSION put him right at 15 yard line. We all saw the slow motion replay. His arm/elbow reached it, and then he fell backwards. Even if you think he didnt make it, theres no indisputable evidence to over turn it no matter what michigan fans think they see in their blue goggles. Second, getting a spot wrong in college football happens LITERALLY hundreds of times a season. Despite michigan fans inflated sense of importance, there is not some ncaa wide conspiracy to oppress you or keep you out of the playoffs. Get over yourselves already. Third, "the world" is not with you. Really no one cares that you guys lost the game. Losing to us has been fairly normal now for the larger part of the last 15 years or so. You lose a close one this year, and the entitlement harbaugh infected you guys with causes a meltdown of monumental proportion. It was hard for us buckeyes to watch him prance and posture most of the off season as if you guys won a national title. Its just another loss. It happens to all teams. Its not some conspiracy. I know it hurts but you guys will get past it. Michigan was a dominant team for majority of the season. They could easily beat bama (i believe). Its tough that they lost, but you guys should move on and get over it already. You had several chances to win the game, but failed to do it. There were calls that i think refs got wrong in our penn state game but we had to accept the loss and move on. You guys have an amazing team but it just didnt happen for you this year. You do have next year.

Thats actually kinda funny. I dont mean to be rude or insulting. Just stating my opinion. Its funny you claim we have no chance against bama. You forget, we beat them before when we had no chance. We arent some flash in the pan team thats bad for most years and then has a good season every now and then. We have one of the top 2 coaches in the nation, and 5 star talent. Bama has not faced a good team all year long as the sec is pathetic. Ohio state has beaten 3 top 10 teams this year. Bama wouldnt haven never faced a team as good as us. We win national titles. We compete for national titles. Thats what ohio state does. I know your mad but lets be reasonable here lol And i dont live in a trailer park. Lol i dont know if you have ever been to columbus, but trailers are pretty rare there. Just buildings, houses and apartments.

You can take the buckeye out of the trailer park but you cannot take the trailer park out of the buckeye.

Yeah, we've been to Columbus.  Getting urine and bottles thrown at you is a fucking blast.  Not to mention the car vandalism.

Give me a break. The spot is not the only issue we have with the game. Pass interference calls on critical third downs, the spot that frankly was bullshit and badly reviewed, the fact that one of the refs had been banned from officiating for poor performance in the past, the fact that one of the refs was an Ohio native and self professed fan of Ohio State, the cheap shot Weber threw right in front of the official that wasn't called, I can keep going but I don't want to. Go away. We didn't ask for your two cents on how your team somehow came away with a win when your team has been the most penalized team in the big ten all year but somehow cleans up all of that for just two penalties for six yards in the biggest game of their career against their worst rival. It wasn't just the goddamn spot. Go back to eleven warriors if you don't like what you're reading here.

Hmmmm lurking on this forum for a year, after your team has beaten our team "for the larger part of the last 15 years," and deciding to freak out at us with an unnecessarily long comment AFTER you WON? Hmmmmm. Maybe we are stubborn, but jeez, I think you are the one with the major issues. Get a grip...
