Most important recruits

Submitted by Real and Spectacular on

These are the recruits I feel we can't afford to lose out on.

1. DPJ: Not necessarily based on need because we would be fine if we ended up with the other 3 guys, but with his talent and with us being the leaders, we need to get that signature.

2. Ruiz: Could potentially be a starter as a sophomore since Cole and Kugler will be seniors.

3. Elite tackle: Filiaga, Wills, Wilson, Leatherwood. Sure we would like them all, but we better get at least one, and preferably 2.

4. Solomon or Tufele: NT depth is a little scary. We need an impact guy and soon.

5. Ambry Thomas: I like St Juste but we need another corner that could potentially play early. All the CB's have been UM lately, but I'm hearing some MSU fans express some confidence. Any new updates?

6. JKP: Not the highest rated of our targets but the coaches suppposedly love him and we desperately need safety depth.

Really WANT an Uber-athlete in the class for JH to deploy: Darnay Holmes! Ambry Thomas might be Juste as good.

Really WANT to steal someone from Georgia: Aubrey, son-of-Mme-Caldwell, Solomon would be great. I just don't like the names Kirby or Smart unless for a small dog.

Really WANT dominant tackles for the next several years so please, please sign Tufele too - (and LaBryan Ray SDE somehow).

Really WANT a stud running back. Najee Harris would be the ultimate but I'd be just as psyched with Cam Akers or Stephen Carr.

Really WANT to hold on to Drevno and Fisch on staff for as long as possible.

Really don't care about:  TE's!!!!  Our cup runneth over.

Offensive Line and wide receivers?  Just not worried about either...we've got so many great possibilities in the pipeline. Ruiz and one of Collins/DPJ would be outstanding.

I've run several simulations on 247 Class calculator.

Last year we finished with 280 points.

My totally unscientific but highly obsessive study suggests:

- 95% likelihood of 285+ points

- 85% likelihood of 290+ points

- 50% likelihood of 300+ points and a top 3 position

- 20% likelihood of 310+ points and a top 1-2 position

we need Solomon and he needs us.

No linemen in the country improved as much from when our current crop arrived until now.

DT playing time just happens to be up for grabs next year on a very promising line.

Najee Harris would start as soon as he can become a pass protection God.

Oddly JH hasnt really recruited any Fullback types since hes been here. I know we had one kid committed in this year's class but he decommitted. Maybe Kingston Davis could play that role eventually but all signs so far point to him playing RB.

I think Ambry Thomas would pick MSU if his recruitment ended today.  If you watch his last few interviews he's given the chance to say how great Michigan is and he's kinda like meh...Why he would want to be part of that dumpster fire I don't know.  His comment about his trip to MSU was he can see himself playing early, meanwhile we played way more Frosh than Moo U.  Corley is undoubtedly in his ear.

My top 3 wish list is:

Thomas - I could see him playing both ways and Special teams.

DPJ

Solomon

Dylan McCaffrey. Need that glue to help recruit receivers. ALthough I am very interested in what Vilain and Samuels could develop into.

DPJ, Thomas, JKP, Isaiah Wilson, Drew Singleton are guys, IMO, that we have to land.

Ruiz and Collins are two that would really leave a sour taste in my mouth if we didn't get them.

I really want to land Darnay Holmes, Baron Browning, and, obviously, Najee Harris.

Looking at the excellent depth chart provided on this site, we only have Dawson, Onwenu and Spanellis (330 lb 3*) next year.  Not sure if any of our other recruits could easliy transition to guard, but why aren't we recruiting this position more aggressivley?

Number one is the football. If we don't get the actual football to the football-field itself, then there will be no ball to play with

Then there's no way we can win cause there's no damn ball
