Just skimmed the box score for the 6 game Laker - Pacers Final series. Surprising to me: Shaq extremely dominant and much more so than Kobe, who missed a few games. Jalen Rose was a stud - averaged 23 a game. Glen Rice - up and down a bit
Potomac Pizza has absolutely outstanding pizza, wings, etc 7777 Baltimore Avenue, College Park Maryland, 20740. (240) 582-5242. We have eaten there and definitely recommended it. Best of all, owned by a UM family with a current UM student! If you bump into the owners, tell ‘em VanBluegens sent you!
Our biggest challenge over the next 1 - 5 years is catching and surpassing OSU. That is hard to do if they remain an extremely dominant team. We need to start beating them, if not this year, then very soon, otherwise closing the gap will become even more difficult. Any indication they are not as good as advertised is good news. Simply put, an extremely dominant OSU is not good for us, recruiting or otherwise.
By the end of the year, Isaiah Livers is going to see a lot of time at PF. At UM we are too used to needing time to groom our freshman. Fer God sakes, look at the top ten in most mock NBA drafts, they are all freshman, 100% of them!!! Isaiah is big enough, athletic enough and strong enough to fill in quite nicely at #4 and perhaps start.
My son is a senior at UM and was in line at a local bar, as was Mr. Wilson. For 20 minutes DJ was talking about how he needed to go now because he needed/wanted the $$. The other kids were of course trying to talk him out of this. I posted on this site a few years back that Mitch McGary was going to leave the night before he declared because he announced such at my son's SAE party on Saturday night, so the info seems somewhat reliable, Sorry for the potentially bad news.
1) He said he doesn't like attention, I believe him. If he wanted attention, he would have scheduled an announcement event, made an announcement video, etc. He never did. If he had second thoughts, and has now made a decision to stay with Alabama, the easiest thing to do would be to simply say he was sticking with his commitment. Who would want all of this pressure and criticism if you had made up your mind? Not many, especially someone like Najee who doesn't like attention.
2) He and his mother have said/tweeted that he doesn't know over the last 24 hours - he doesn't know!!
3) Don't worry about his latest statement, "where I'm going is not a suprise". He doesn't want the attention, but given he hasn't decided, he is in a tough spot. He is now getting attention and criticism he does not want. This is most likely an attempt to temper the criticism that he can't make up his mind.
Not saying he is going Blue, just saying I really think he has not decided yet. Here's hoping he shows up in Ann Arbor after, or for, his surgery!!
H2H sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. All depends on how much has changed between the games. The reason we got trucked last year but OSU was a thin defensive line that got beat down over the course of the game. Losing Glasgow was devastating. Likewise, our win over PSU isn't as impressive due to their injuries. Probably the most recent and relevant H2H is MSU. We looked better, and Malik played against us.
CFP: Hoping Wilton will be close to 100% healthy for OSU and we win (of course). If not, we would still almost assuredly make the CFP with a close loss to OSU coupled with a Washington loss, albeit as a 4 seed with a tough opening game against Alabama. Washington could lose at WSU this coming weekend and or in the PAC-12 championship, perhaps against Colorado. The next-up two loss teams after Michigan are Louisville who just lost (5 to ?), Washington (6 to ?), Wisconsin (7) and Penn State (8) who we both beat, Oklahoma who lost at home to OSU 45-24, and Colorado (10) who we also beat. We would have lost to the #2 team on the road without our starting quarterback, who we would likely have back for the CFP. No way Louisville or Washington (if they lose) would be ranked ahead of a 2 loss Michigan team with the quality of wins and losses on our resume. Root for UM to beat OSU (obviously), but if we slip up, and Washington loses, we are in.
Looking at the excellent depth chart provided on this site, we only have Dawson, Onwenu and Spanellis (330 lb 3*) next year. Not sure if any of our other recruits could easliy transition to guard, but why aren't we recruiting this position more aggressivley?
I can't imagine Harbaugh would set up a signing of the stars event if there was risk that Gary would not be in the class. If that were to happen, the reaction from the world would be overwhelmingly negative. To me, this means Gary is either a silent commit, or Harbaugh is close to 100% sure he is coming.
Sorry, "Reading between the lines on "or lack thereof" is too cryptic for me. Did Sir Patrick officially visit elsewhere? Did he not take an official to Ann Arbor? I am aware of all of the high quality DBs with links to UM. Thanks
"but they’re (Michigan) in a good spot for me right now, as well as Penn State’s in a good spot, Notre Dame is in a really good spot" - this statement, plus didn't Onwenu state he was still going to take visits???? This fish is a long way from being in the boat.

1979 Indiana game, Wangler to Carter 40+ yard touchdown no time left to win the game. Classic Ufer with the call. I was a student at the time. We were as drunk as we could be, given we were of age and alcohol could be easily brought into the games. Me and my buddies rushed the field, yelling, screaming, jumping, spinning in circles. I turn and find myself about 6 inches away from the 6' 9" IU all big ten defensive end (can't recall his name). I stopped dead in my tracks. He is looking down at me, as pissed as a human being can possibly be. I went from total party, celebration, out of control mode to utterly motionless and in fear of my life in less than a second. Slithered away and started celebrating again when I got 30 yards between us and I knew he wasn't staring me down anymore! Great memory!
The last three picks by the 247 Crystal Ball experts, and the majority of these experts are Picking UM. Do those guys just not update often enough to incorporate the bad news from today you guys are referencing? We seem awfully pessimistic???????
My son goes to school in Ann Arbor. He told me that McGary told him he was done on Saturday before it was announced on Sunday. They seem to have great inside information at his fraternity. He now tells me that a student who works in the athletic department has said tonight that Harbaugh is signed and it's a done deal. But it won't be announced until the new year.
I, like many others, were thoroughly unimpressed with his interview. Additionally, Hackett has NO track record of success as an AD or hiring coaches, so skepticism remains firmly in place. If this move is intended to expedite hiring one of the top three guys, then great. However, none of the comments from any of the current regime even remotely suggests a sense of urgency in hiring a new AD or head coach. Another concerning fact is that hackett's comments prior to the Maryland game seem to be in support Hoke. If he can't see the issues most/all of us see with Hoke, that is another red flag. Three strikes and he is out in my book.
So when Caldwell came here, many of the players commented how he allowed them to go easier during practice to avoid injury. Hoke takes pride in practicing like we play. Any stats on how many of these injuries happened during practice versus on the field?

This is awesome news!
