Since Moses was not going to UM, it doesn't bother me that much that he chose Bama (aside from SEC echo-chsmber effect). He chose Bama over OSU, so he doesn't play against us (probably) and maybe turns some recruits towards us who were leaning that way. Stars do not mean much ultimately - development and teamwork means more.

Are bagmen assisting at Bama? Sure, I can believe that but their success on the field is the main reason for it. I find it ironic that people find this viewpoint to be one in denial but the same folks accusing that are trying to convince me that Bama, FSU, USC, LSU, OSU Etc ALL use bagmen and in the same breath refuse to entertain the idea that if they are using bagmen, then Michigan is almost certainly is as well because I tell you what- when you look at recruiting rankings over the last decade and compare them to performance on the field, few schools are as eyebrow raising as Michigan

Some of this is going to change by NSD surprised this lesson needs to keep being re-learned.  Michigan isn't done and none of these recruits are a done deal.

Harbaugh will pull in top 5 recruiting classes regularly, but Michigan's recruits are held to a much higher standard than at either Bama or OSU. Many of the highest rated guys would just prefer not to worry about academics, and only want to put in their 3 years and go pro. Those guys will look at the SEC and the Bucknuts. Just the price we pay for being Michigan, and I'm ok with that.

Yes, and you're early on classifying Peppers and Gary as not part of the "many." If they both stay for four years instead of leaving early for the NFL, then yes, they are two 5 stars among the masses who chose an education first over the NFL. Otherwise they're the same.

Michigan is a football factory and they're selling it to 5 star recruits as a path to the NFL, not a corporate boardroom. Get real.

Maybe you don't English?

No one said you couldn't. And no one, but apparently you, thinks Jabrill Peppers and Rashan Gary went to Michigan for academics first.

No one is attacking the quality of a Michigan education, which is unquestionably great. But it's delusional to think the football players are there for any other reason than to be football players. Getting a Michigan degree in whatever major the support staff pushes them into isn't their main objective.

Wouldn't want Harbaugh to comment on that, though.

lies, steals and murders people.

Hayes: Retired in shame after striking an opposing player

Tressel: Left in shame after the pay for play schemes going back to Youngstown caught up to him at OSU

Meyer:??? We only have history to guide us on how his OSU legacy will play out.  Aaron Herndandez, Pouncey brothers, circle of trust for criminals (if they play well enough).

You reap what you sow....his lack of character will eventually surface and the entire castle of sand will collapse.

Wasn't half of Harbaugh's 49ers defense arrested, or am I forgetting that? Should we blame him for that? Attack his character because Ray McDonald liked to beat up his wife or because Aldon Smith liked to drink and drive? After all, maybe Aldon Smith picked that up that habit from Harbaugh. We only have his history to guide us.

See how dumb you sound?

Totally Urban Meyer's fault his ex-player, recruited by everyone in the country, killed a person. Totally. It's really a wonder Meyer didn't go to jail too.

It's too bad noted Michigan Man Tom Brady couldn't Michigan Man the Urban Meyer out of Aaron Hernandez. I mean they both spent the same amount of time leading him, right?

The easiest classes at Michigan are no harder than the easiest classes at OSU and Bama. Let's just be honest, if Mario Manningham managed to stay elegible during his time at Michigan pretty much anyone can stay elegible. Our standards are no different from those schools, we're not Northwestern.

"Our standards are no different from those schools, we're not Northwestern." Uhhh, no. When I was in school, the students in the class determined the grade scale. So it mostly depended on the average intelligence of the students, not the difficulty of the class. If you agree, then I'm sure you know that the average UM student is much higher than the average UA or OSU student.

What did you study? I have a BS from LSA and the majority of my classes were not graded on a curve... actually, only a small handful were and I'm 100% sure you can get a BA from LSA  without taking a single one of them.

Harbaugh is an elite talent evaluator. Some of our 3 star guys are going to end up as solid NFL starters one day. St Juste looks like a possible future first round pick for example. The most important thing is Harbaugh getting his type of quarterback though.

Exactly, we won't be able to recruit like bama and OSU until we win 1 or 2 national championship. (Even we get the NC, we probably still won't be able to recruit like them due to academic commiments/requirements).  But Harbaugh is an elite talent evaluator and his staff are also elite group of coaches. he can make up his talent discrepency by good game plan and player development. Think about the scinario, when we face bama or other SEC teams. I don't think Harbaugh will be out coached often. The only threat i think is from Meyer. He has better talents at OSU, also has good supporting staff. Meyer's on-field adjustment is also superb. Until we figure how to shut down their offense like Stanford shut down Oregon a few year ago (only mean to shut down enough to win), and have enough fire power to put up points from our offense. We will have a hard time to beat them. We still don't see the true harbaugh's offensive playbook from Stanford yet. We probably still need to wait for another year or two for the next generation of QB (whoever will stand out in the competition) to master his system and can run his no huddle pro style offense. I really look forward to those epic battles in the future. Our performance of this seaon could be a key milestone for our program for the next 10 years (from a recruiting standpoint).

It's because of Sabans warm fuzzy personality. He just connects so well with kids and their parents. He pulled classes like this all the time in East Lansing, right? Right guys?

High profile recruits mainly care about two things: A. go to NFL (high draft pick and cash out), B. win championship or go to playoff (also help to get to NFL). Even Harbaugh won't get to B, he will have enough players to NFL draft in a few years (starting from this year). We will becoem once again one of the NFL player pipeline. Recruit will follow that.

So they have 3 of the top 5 players and they are still behind OSU? Isn't OSU supposed to get like 2 or 3 more top 10 players themselves? Literally how are they doing this? Both schools are gonna be setting records.

Ohio State is favored to land CB Jeffery Okudah, RB Cam Akers, and OLB Baron Browning.

If that happens, and they don't lose any of their current committments, it would give them 9 total 5* recruits including the #6, #8, #9, #10, #15, #16, #18, #27, and #28 overall in 247 Composite.
